Surgery?
Surgery?
The GOUT english track is definitely just sped up for the PAL release (voices, SFX, music, everything).
Yes, it definitely would.
Cool, I've got those too. So was it only the VHS that was pitch corrected and not the LD? That's weird since it's basically the same edition.
The NTSC DVD5 encoded by Chewtobacca is now available the same way as the HD version: simply go to ulozto.net and search for "SW DeEd" or "Harmy".
Well, here it is but keep in mind that it's not quite a fair comparison because those are two different transfers. What's amazing about this is that project blu, while sourced from a non anamorphic DVD is actually not that far from the actual HD in this shot. There are of course shots where the difference is much bigger but I originally posted a screencap of this one because I wanted to give an example of one of those places where I thought "why do I even bother, this already looks like HD", like I said in one of my previous posts:
It almost looks like one of those comparisons from bluray.com, you know: old Blu-Ray transfer vs. new Blu-Ray transfer :-)
Well, where there were just a few frames missing from a longer shot, I just repeated a few frames to get it to the right length, but where there were bigger parts missing, I had to fade in and out of GOUT (sometimes more than once within one shot) or just enhance GOUT with some HD elements or both. Sometimes it was really hard to get the sources to match but I think the result is quite satisfactory. The only shot that I'm still not quite content with is the last one, there is just too much missing from it for slowing it down to work, so I'll have to fade in from GOUT.
Here's a preliminary version of the end celebration scene:
Don't worry, I'll post them here, when I have all the specs for the info on the back.
OK, here it is:

No, I don't have the V3 DVDs, I can't download from torrent and after seeing the samples of project blu, I didn't bother putting in the extra effort and having someone download the V3 for me.
I'm working on the celebration right now. Only two or three shots will have to be almost entirely GOUT but they look OK.
Here's a little sample from one of the clips DJ sent me. Top is project blu, bottom is GOUT just resided to the same size:

Thanks Harmy, maybe I will send you a sneak peak ESB sample.
I'm just saying it cuz it's true, it does look really good for being sourced from the GOUT.
Oh and please do (along with the few ROTJ clips that I still need ;-D ).
I wouldn't say we're quite there yet but thanks for saying so ;-)
But it feels great to have a version I can show to my friends and not have them sneer over the quality or being forced to watch the SE.
Wow, man, slow down, that's getting a bit disgusting...
But still, I'm flattered :-D
Yeah, that is good news! I'm really curious to see Empire HD, because I've seen a lot from the other two because DJ was kind enough to send me some samples to use for my projects and they're totally awesome. Miles away from GOUT and even from V3. Though granted, I only saw some samples of that too, because when I first saw the V3 sample, I must admit I was a little disappointed, it was better than GOUT but it wasn't as much better as I'd hoped and I can't download from torrents, so I never downloaded the V3 DVDs. But when I saw the first sample of project blu, I thought: yes, this is it, this is what I've been waiting for! And then when I saw some other scenes that DJ sent me to use in my Despecialized Edition HD, there seriously were times when I was thinking: Why do I even bother, this already looks like HD. I also had a chance to get a glimpse at some of the menus and they look great too, so I'm looking forward to this being finished.
I made some covers for the HD release but I'm waiting for all three films to be finished so I'll be able to put all the necessary info on the backs.
So I checked out the samples grisan, while it's interesting to see, it would definitely not go very well with my edits.
Yeah, that is slow, that's not normal, I usually download 300Kbps from there.
Yeah, I did all I could about that shake in that overhead shot but I just couldn't get it to look any better.
As to the musical number, I'll be forced to go with a straight GOUT upscale because there isn't a single shot that could be used from the HD version but it looked quite OK in the PDE and this time I should have DJ's awesome upscale at my disposal, so it should be even better.
I don't think so, it's just brightened a bit but the crushed blacks seem just as bad to me.
Yeah, you should be. Don't know, it's weird. Maybe there's still a lot of people downloading. If you don't mind torrent, it should also be on myspleen.
Are you using JDownloader?
PM sent :-)
Thanks :-) I'll check it out, although I think I'll use the 04DVD ones to keep the quality consistent.
