That's probably just a side effect of it being shot from a screen with a camera.

Finally, a clear and indisputable proof that the 2004 masters are being used for the Blu-Ray. 

Now, the quality of the video  that Ady posted isn't very good, so you can't judge from the colours or crushed blacks and other indicators of the 2004 transfer. At best, you can make an educated guess based on stuff like the blue haze around the explosion, like Ady did. But if you know the facts around SW transfers well enough, the definite proof is there. 

A little story first: Not so long ago, an encoding error in my Despecialized Edition was pointed out to me, so I went and checked if it's also in the source file I used (a 720p encode of a German HDTV broadcast capture) and it was. So I went on and checked Adywan's AVCHD and it was there too. But both Adywan and I were using the German HDTV broadcasts for our edits, so I assumed the error must have been in the German broadcast capture but just to be sure, I went, dug up a DVD9 on which I had a UK HDTV broadcast capture burned and checked it there and it was there too. Suspicious, huh?

So I went to the OFFICIAL 2004 DVD and checked there and couldn't believe my eyes!!!

So, it is quite clear, that this error is a part of the 2004 master, as it seems to appear in it's every incarnation, including the official DVD releases...

... and now, that very same frame from the Blu-Ray preview video:

It's relatively hard to make out due to the bad quality but when you know what you're looking for, it's quite clearly there.

It's 23.976 in HD and the SD version is 29.976, so you should have no trouble :-)

@Frink: Yeah, that's crap. I mean, if you were a casual fan pondering on whether or not to buy the set, cool deleted scenes would tip the favour towards buying. But if you know the set contains three worthless films and three butchered into worthlessness films, it totally sucks to spend all that money on it just for the deleted scenes :-/

What are you going to use for the unaltered shots? You can use my DeEd if you like :-)

I have no idea how that's actually done but I'd have thought that it was a step by step manually adjusted transition and I'm not quite sure it would be possible with a film (as opposed to two still images).

@DJ: There's quite a few differences, I couldn't list them all but I bet there's a list somewhere. Moth3r?

@Ady: Well, like I said, I'm definitely not gonna do that myself, I just think it would be a nice idea.

Well, no, I'm totally useless with audio. But the mono mix is there.

But I think it would be a nice idea (as someone here already suggested) if one of the sound guys made a nice 5.1 mix that would have all the mono mix sound choices. But I'm definitely not the right guy to attempt something like that.

Well, that's the whole idea of adding the smoke. The GOUT shot is so grainy and dirty, that there's no way of removing the grain without turning it into a blurry blob, so I added the smoke to conceal it. It works much better when put into the film with sound and the subtitle, than it does on it's own.

Well, that's exactly why the backs need to be changed as well, as they are modelled on the 97SE vhs covers.

You may also notice that those pics on the fronts of my PDE covers are not the SE posters, they are Partly Despecialized ;-)

Oh, no, like I said, I'm still working on those. But I really don't mind anyone making alternate covers. It's up to everybody to choose the covers they like most :-)

Has anyone got the credits for the bottom of the cover written out as text? And if so, could you please post them? Thanks :-)
