Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Step one: Remove the ugly blue haze from the SE explosion.

Step two: Remove the ring using DJ's GOUT upscale.

And the thing Laserschwert pointed out is actually another smaller ring added in the SE but I tried to remove it and couldn't get it to work well, so I decided to just keep it, it's nowhere near as distracting and out of place as the big one.

I think that was about ESB though. And with ANH, Ady never claimed it to be 97SE reconstruction and these colours (in terms of palette, not vibrancy) are pretty close to the GOUT.

So DJ, do you mean using LD footage only, or do you mean using the DTV captures and using the LD footage where the smearing is really bad? Because I think in most places the DTV captures are superior, especially ANH (the DTV captures of ESB and ROTJ 97SE are pretty crap).

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)

It's the same with the Czech dub, in both the OT dubs  Chewie was called "Žvejkal," which is a translation of the name and in the PT dub, they kept his names the same as in English. In the original OT dub the word Jedi is read as [yedee] and [jedee] in the SE dub, but in the PT it was pronounced the same as in English, so I guess that's another reason they want to make a new dub for the BD.

Furthermore, the way they changed the ending of Jedi to [jedee] determined the title of ROTJ as Návrat Jediho, because with this phonetic ending, the word declines this way. While in the PT it was pronounced the English way, which caused the word to be declined differently, so in theory, if they change it to that pronunciation in the new OT dub, they'll also have to change the Czech title for ROTJ to "Návrat Jedie."

pittrek said: Well, the 2004 DVDs didn't include any czech dub because it was explicitly forbidden (at least that was the official distributor's "excuse", I don't know if it's true or not)

I think that's BS, the 04DVDs included dubs in other countries, so why would it be forbidden here? Maybe LFL forbade them to use the old 97 dub, because they wanted them to make new dubs which would be consistent with the PT dubs and the Czech distributor was too cheap to make a new one, which is what they're doing now.

I remember how they talked about LFL being really anal about the PT dub (the PT was sadly dubbed in cinemas), trying to control everything, so it would stand to reason they'd want the same level of control over the OT dubs, when they're to be released in one set with the PT.

When they made the Czech SE dub in 97, they used the same translation as in the old home video dubbing and only modified it slightly, so the lines that were altered in the SE stayed the same in the 97SE CZ dub (Vader still says "Bring my shuttle" Luke says "You're lucky you don't taste very good" and Han says "It's OK, trust me," and so on).

Another reason for the new dubbing is probably the new 7.1 soundmix, as I doubt that they still have the original 97 dubbing voice elements to just splice them in.

OK, guys... You ready?

Here is a sneak peak at the preliminary version of the "official" Despecialized Cover art:

Let me know what you think. Oh and you native speakers out there, could you please check the text on the back. I wrote it myself and I'm not quite sure if it all makes sense grammatically and otherwise...
