Oh and good eye, canofhumdingers, I'll sure be fixing that!
Oh and good eye, canofhumdingers, I'll sure be fixing that!
Well, it's not just about the edits of course, I'd love to have it with me and I'd definitely be taking it if I was sure I can fit it in my hand luggage.
There's still A LOT of work to do on the lightsabres and I want to redo the Greedo subs, which will also be a lot of slow work, and maybe give Leia's hologram a shot (although I'll be keeping the vertical scan lines because I'm convinced they were always there) so v1.2 is now going to take much longer than I thought it would.
I might even wait for the Blu-Rays to come out and make straight v2, although that's not too likely, because I won't be able to afford the set right after release, so unless one of my friends gets it, I'll wait for the price to come down before getting it for my edits. Oh, and the Blu sourced edits will still only be 720p because my computer just can't handle this kind of work and also, with some possible exceptions, I'll only be using the Blus for the scenes that stayed unaltered in the SE and reusing the despecialized shots I already have.
Anyway, I'm going to UK for a two-week holiday next Thursday and I'm not yet decided whether to take my computer with me, so right now, I just want to get Jedi out of the way before then.
No, it was just damn impossible because the footage was too shaky and with camera movement it was impossible to even stabilize properly.
He's posting the same shit everywhere. It seems like wherever the Blu-Ray set is just mentioned, Ken is there to tell everyone how awesome it will be.
Did I mention how much I hate you guys for making me do these things:

;-)
They're both much worse in Jedi, so I don't think that should be a problem ;-)
@Darf Muffy: Huh?
@fffffff: Not really, I want to finish Jedi first.
Not to mention that if you were lucky enough to see them in 70mm, you'd have seen them in higher resolution.
Wow, I don't understand any of that :-/ ;-)
Well, that one shot looks really good I've got to admit but what the f*ck is up with the pink stuff, it's not just the lightsabres, look at Luke's face at 0:12 or the stairs at 0:12 and 0:13 - that's pretty ugly.
Well, I already thought about that, but the problem is that the shot fades out at the end, so it isn't complete :-(
@thorr: No, I just upscaled it to keep some quality on Youtube, so it is a simple resize.

The Aluminum Falcon:
The running time of the trailer is listed at 2:27, so it should be the 2.35:1 version of this trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRwG9xyQmIE&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRwG9xyQmIE&feature=related
I upped it in higher quality here:

It's from the 2004 bonus DVD.
Yeah, that'd be great. It is an awesome trailer and it definitely deserves an HD preservation.
I have some bad news guys, the encode didn't go well and I'll have to redo it and I won't be home for the next few days, so it probably won't be available for another week or so.
Well, yes :-)
And the encoding will take at least a day and that's if everything goes OK.
Awesome! I'll restart the computer and start encoding right away! :-)
Here's a whole thread about the 97SE extras:

I demand a screenshot of the glitch! ;-)
OK, this is now finished. I'm just gonna wait until so somebody finds the glitch before I encode.
I'm gonna drop you a hint: Luke is the only character in the shot and he's holding something and when he moves the thing he's holding from side to side, it leaves a trace of dark blocky artefacts behind.
That the site's down. It was a great place to point people to.
Aw, that sucks!
That's just f*cking sad. They're talking about building the models and the first shot we see from the movie is the CG x-wings from the SE. And the footage they're using is indeed unmistakeably the 04 transfer.
I asked the same question once because someone linked to an ebay auction selling the DTS discs for all three 97SEs but apparently it's impossible to get the soundtrack off of the CDs. The theatrical DTS sound would I think be an equivalent of DTS MA HD sound, so it would be pretty sweet but unfortunately it seems impossible :-(
