Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Thanks :-) I was going for something sort of retro OUT looking but fresh and new at the same time.

So I decided for a bluish starry background sort of similar to the European 1995 release and the faces on the fronts of the covers, like in the US 1995 release but I used these paintings which I believe to have never been used for covers before. I had to alter the stormtrooper one, because it also reflected a scene from ANH in the eyes, so I gave it some thought on what could be reflected in the eyes of a stormtrooper in ROTJ and I decided to go for vicious looking Ewoks brutally murdering stormtroopers :-)

Then I found these two nice pics of Luke from SW and ESB but couldn't find a ROTJ one that would fit with them, so I had to make one by putting the face from the SW picture over the face of a Sideshow statue of ROTJ Luke :-)

I used the same nice and plain font (Century Gothic IIRC) for everything on the cover.

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1

OK, now that all three films are out, here are the finished covers:

And here's a download link to full res versions with typos corrected:

http://www.uloz.to/9987782/deed-covers-final-rar

Could someone please run these through IMANDIX for me (or something similar - you know a program that puts them into boxes automatically). Ideally with the forum colour background.

re myspleen: I'd be very happy if someone could share on myspleen again :-)

re Minisabre: Hi, welcome to the forum. Browse around, I'm sure you'll find more interesting projects and discussions around here (I'd especially recommend Puggo's 8mm and 16mm preservations and Dark Jedi's custom discs.)

Now, to your question: you do have to un-rar all parts (it is basically one rar archive split into several) and then you burn to disc using imgburn going by one of these tutorials:

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_imgburn.cfm

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_avchd_with_imgburn.cfm

I hope this helps :-)

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Yeah, I love the Thrawn Trilogy, for me it's close to perfect. I love how, unlike some other EU authors, he's trying to minimize the "super-hero jedi" factor in Luke, making him uncertain of his powers and what to do with them, which makes him a much more interesting character - that's why I also like the Ysalamiri idea very much.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I think Ady already said that he would be using the Blus. I guess he could even re-render stuff for ESB:R by simply using the Blu-Ray footage seeing as it will be the same basic transfer - although as it seems there will be more colour changes (screw-ups) he'd have to redo the colour correction.

Here's an NFO:

RETURN OF THE JEDI - DESPECIALIZED EDITION HD

This is a cut which is very close to the 1983 theatrical version of ROTJ except for some of the cleaned up original VFX (a list of changes with picture comparisons and explanations of how the shots were despecialized coming soon).

SOURCES:

1) Star.Wars.Episode.VI.Return.of.the.Jedi.1983.720p.HDTV.x264-DON (2004 SE)

2) Dark Jedi's 720p upscale of the GOUT.

3) 1997 SE DTV capture (G'Kar)

I did an extensive shot by shot colour correction and although the colours may not be 100% perfect, I'm really quite satisfied with them.

HIGH DEFINITION RELEASE

FORMAT: AVCHD DVD9

VIDEO: 1280x720p H264 23.976 fps

AUDIO:

TRACK 1) hairy_hen's 5.1 purist mix @ 448Kbps AC3

TRACK 2) 1993 2.0 mix @ 320Kbps AC3

TRACK 3) 1983 2.0 mix @ 224Kbps

TRACK 4) 1992 2.0 Czech dub @ 256Kbps

TRACK 5) 1983 2.0 German dub @ 256Kbps

Man, the older transfers are inferior in some technical things, because they're older transfers done in lower resolution but the 2004 transfer is inferior in terms of quality control - wrong colours, crushed blacks and so on. That's why Ady had to do extensive colour correction for his edit. The thing is that the 2004 transfer is now also an old transfer and an all new transfer should be made.

Agreed, Puggo, I'll never watch these official versions, I only look at them as sources, so as long as it's the same screwed up master, it doesn't really matter whether you colour correct from pink or purple. The advantage here is, that if there are any further changes, we already have the previous version in 1080p.
