Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Laserschwert, I was going to make a German version myself for my uncle, so you doing so will save me some work but it sure would have been nice if you asked for permission to use my version (I would have totally said yes, but it just seems like common courtesy).

I will still be including a fixed (thanks to Luffy03) German dub in v1.2.

And 7 people are wanting the Prequel set only? Say what you will about the prequels, but no bonus features at all makes any trilogy-only purchase kind of silly to me. I guess there really are people out there who only like the prequels.

Well, that's not necessarily the case, there may be peolpe who like the prequels and love the OT but hate the SEs, especially in their current colour screwed up form - these people may buy the PT set only.

Blade Runner: The Version You've Never Seen Before (Update: Beta Released)
Time

I have a question concerning Blade Runner. It's not directly to do with this edit but I didn't want to start a new thread and I thought Zombie may know the answer:

I always assumed that when the awesome Blade Runner Blu-Ray set was being made, they made new scans of all the versions - did a proper 4K restoration from the negatives for the Final Cut and did a 1080p IP scan for all the others (which look pretty awesome too).

But just out of a whim I checked out my Director's Cut 2006 DVD the other day and that is one awesome transfer, looks almost HD! So my question is:

As the DC DVD transfer was made in 2006, it was probably scanned at at least 1080p and as all three older versions (that is the original US cut, original international cut and the DC) were on one disc through seamless branching, didn't they just use the 2006 DC transfer and scan only those few shots that were cut out for the DC for the BD Box set?

Not that it would make any difference to how awesome that set is, just that they had to put a bit less work into it than I originally thought.

Well, yeah, in a few places I just recoloured Vader's sabre as a) except for the colour it looked the same as GOUT and b) in GOUT it was screwed up by DVNR in a few places.

@Laserschwert: I was adding the new subs at the same time as removing the hard-coded ones, so I don't have the clean subtitle-less videos any more. But if you just wait for the Blu-Rays, I'm sure they'll have selectable subs, so you should be able to get the sub-less videos from them.

Gotta say I'm loving your reconstructions. I've never gotten to see Star Wars in HD before and I'm loving it. I'm blown away by the attention to detail you've got going on with these. Replacing the detention level hallway matte was insane, but seeing as this is kinda an all or nothing thing, I love the fact that you're going into that much detail. I've skimmed through all the parts I can think of that would have major SE stuff in them to see if I can tell, but I'd say they're clean.

My only gripe about anything in these at all is the lightsabers in ANH, mainly Ben's during his fight with Vader. They look great of course, but that's kinda the problem. Your clip you posted goes a ways to fix this by blurring them out and messing with the colors, but I was wondering if you'd be willing to go even more nuts with it and make Ben's all jagged and flickery and cyan and Vader's almost orange like in the GOUT. I'm not sure exactly how it could be done, maybe paste in the separate sabers from the GOUT V3 over top of the frame or just do some after effects wizardry?

Anyway, thanks again for doing these at all. Absolutely loving the V1.0s!

Erm, that's exactly what I did in that clip...
