Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

You mean the voice, right? That's all me, I don't know why it sounds so different in some instances. It was recorded over a period of several hours and I was using a really bad tiny microphone, so it's possible that it got changed depending on how far I was from it or whether I held it in the palm my hand of just freely.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

That's actually interesting.

Oh and as to the DVNr in Episode I, there is an alternative. Adywan released a 1080p AVCHD version, which is based on the HDTV broadcast and is colour corrected. It's the same master as the DVD, so it's not so great either but it doesn't have the ugly DVNr waxy look of the Blu-Ray. More info can be found here.

3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!
Time

Well, to be honest, I got quite a kick out of the TPM3D trailer with proper colours. I haven't seen Episode I for ages and while I now realize that it is objectively pretty bad, it still holds a sort of nostalgic childhood value for me. So I must confess that I'm actually looking forward to seeing it in 3D on the big screen.

This one still works for me. Like I said, I'm pretty sure these are colours optimized for anaglyph 3D presentation - when this is done, red and cyan tones are pulled out to avoid the glowing colour effect when using the anaglyph glasses, which is exactly the case here - yellow (eg. skin tones) and orange (eg. Maul) tones instead of red tones and purple tones (eg. Obi's lightsabre) instead of cyan. It seems that they intended to release a 3D anaglyph version and then just used the left of right eye footage for the 2D trailer forgetting about the colours. And when they realized this error, they corrected it.

In 2.0, will you do anything with Luke's lightsaber in this scene to match all the other shots (which you say came from Adywan's version)? From looking at various sources like the Technidisc SWE, the Moth3r telecine, talking with mverta, etc., I think it's supposed to be a more saturated blue than it is in 1.0. I'm pretty sure that the color variation from shot to shot was almost negligible on the original prints, so even though no official transfer has every shot looking the same shade, I'd think it would be closer to how it looked in cinemas originally if it were the same shade of blue as all the other shots in DE 1.0.

It wasn't as easy as it looks either. In order to make it closer to the original and make it work with the original sabre, I had to completely rotoscope and recomposite not only the sabre but also the remote, which I had to reposition frame by frame, because when it was recomposited for the SE, no particular care was given to recreating the movement of the remote exactly as it was in the original.

The shots are:

1) The interior of Vader's cockpit de-pinked (something I plan to do for the whole sequence).

2) The shot of Falcon after "let's blow this thing and go home."

3) The fighters pulling away from the Death star - I'm particularly happy with this one - pull out your copies of v1.0 and compare them ;-)

4) The torpedos going in.

5) The explosion.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

LOL. Actually, I think that short of the new Boba Fett voice and Luke's scream being gone, the DVD mixes for ESB and ROTJ were practically identical to the 97SE ones, it was just SW that was completely screwed up, (at least that's what I think hairy_hen said and I would trust him of all people) so if the BD mixes are the same, only in lossless DTS, I'd suppose Ady would be using those as his primary source, along with perhaps the 1993 LD PCM?

"The People Vs. George Lucas" documentary...
Time

I don't know, I just watched it the other day and while I liked some parts, I have a feeling that it doesn't help our cause at all, because I think that to an outsider, it really makes us look like whiny fanboys.

Because instead of showing someone calmly stating what the problem is and why we're so upset about it, it shows a bunch of nerds ranting very loudly about Han shooting first.

Info (or not): Squeezing more detail from the GOUT
Time

Well, I don't know but what DJ did is pretty awesome. It is just so much better than the official GOUT that it's breath-taking and I personally doubt that there's much more detail that could be dug out of the GOUT than what DJ already did but I'll be interested to see what you can come up with g-force.

EDIT: Actually, I did dig more detail out of the still pictures from DJ's Blu by careful sharpening of certain areas of the stills but that's for stills only. This one for example:
