Krieg der Sterne - Despecialized Edition 2.7 (German) (Released)
Time

I just wanted to say that I love this.

My uncle's German VHS was my first experience watching the OOT versions of ESB and ROTJ and I did watch SW in German back then as well, because my Czech OOT copy was like 4th generation and pretty worn out, so the German version does have a great nostalgic value for me.

On a related subject, I'd love to give this to my uncle (who's German), but he doesn't have a BD player, so it would have to be an SD DVD - is there any plan for an SD version, or should I make one myself?

Well, I'm gonna need a re-recording of the sources doc commentary first, so if one of you guys could please do that, that would be great!

Actually, scratch that for now! Since I'll be introducing the official releases ('04, '06 and BD) in the first documentary, I'm gonna have to re-write the sources doc. narration a bit.

And I like Mavimao's voice and he was the first one to volunteer, so unless he'd rather leave it to someone else, I'm going to give the "job" to him :-)

@chyron: It will be mainly the extras. With the BD being one movie file only, it shouldn't be too hard to author in MultiAVCHD and then I can author the extras BD with some other software, as it won't require multiple audio options. I see little point to releasing the BD without the accompanying bonus disc, so it will all depend on how fast I can get the extras done.

I'm gonna take my time with them however, now that v2.5 is out as an MKV, I don't see any point to rushing the BD out - that was the whole point of releasing the MKV in the first place (you may recall, that I originally wasn't going to do an MKV for v2.5).

In regard to this, I'm working on the scripts for the extras now and I realized that sometimes it would be better to step out of a simple narration, like the one I did in the Souces Doc, and talk in first person as myself. Now, it would sound silly if I was doing the narration and then started talking in first person as Harmy, bit like interviewing myself :-D So, is there anyone here, with a nicely modulated voice, who would like to volunteer to record the narration for my mini-docs?

OK, I tried remuxing and it seems to work fine, but Laserschwert says I have an old version of the German soundtrack and he's uploading the latest one now, so I'll wait for that and then have to re-mux and test again, but I do expect the fixed files to be uploaded to multi in around two to three hours.

Ha!  You should start capping if anything interesting shows up. :D

I guess my perspective's different because I never watch a film on television these days.  There's always a BD or DVD or some such.

Well, I'm in the same boat, it just irritates me on principle.

And the worst thing is, they even do this on HD stations here - they broadcast a horrible, over-sharpened HD upscale of an old P&S master in pillar-boxed 1080i. I'd understand this with old 4:3 TV shows, but they often do this with older widescreen movies that already came out on BD.
