I’m trying to imagine what sequence from TMP would be nightmare-inducing, and I’m drawing a blank.

I have been a bystander in my own life for far too long. I have only ever had one true friend, halfway across the country. Everyone else either acts nice or I make them uncomfortable, I could never have an actual conversation with any of them. I’m not revolting in appearance, I’ve consistently gotten compliments from other men, but I seem to not have had much luck in getting to know anybody, let alone go on a single date.
Nobody is interested in getting to know me. I just don’t get it. I put in effort and never get anything substantial or meaningful out of it. It’s so bad I don’t even really understand how people live differently. I’m just going to have to come to terms with being alone forever.
Oh. Back to your regularly scheduled bitching.
I invited a few friends to do something over the holidays, but I don’t think any of them will follow through. After driving five hours to a con simply to be abandoned by some of them, and other such shit, I’m getting sick of these people.
I want new friends.
Yeah, don’t give up on the job hunt!
From the sound of that, I agree. I can’t recall any memorable villian from the Marvel movies other than Loki and Purple Karen Gillian (and only because I know who Karen Gillian is).
For the record, I agree that it’d be great to have the villians in the MCU, but I still don’t want to see this happen. Disney’s monopolization of the entertainment industry is kind of evil.
I wish I could do something about this. Stay safe.
That seems to be the way it goes in this thread. I say something, you say something I disagree with, I reply, you say I missed the point, and so on and so forth until we reach ludicrous levels. To save time, I think I’ll just bow out now. We both know we aren’t gonna change the other’s mind.
For that matter, I’d probably be better off not posting in the politics thread at all.
Thanks.

trying to frame it as an everybody problem is disingenuous.
I’m not going to bother with why this pisses me off. Just know it goes right along with what I’ve been trying to say.
The fact of the matter is it shouldn’t be a gender thing, it should be an issue against sexual assault. Period.
I’m sure it does, but there’s probably a big psychological hurdle to overcome for a man to publicly admit he was harassed by a woman.
Social as well. I’m expected to laugh it off.
I find it kind of unsettling that sexual abuse in the public conscious is all about men preying on women… it goes both ways… I’d know.
I miss old posters. There are some I’ve read a lot from and never had the opportunity to interact with, and if I did, only briefly. TheBoost, Danfun, GafferTape, Ziggy Stardust, and so on…
Trading Places
Funny, but weak third act.
I appreciate that clarification and I agree.
Lately, bitching about the moderators’ actions have been doing more to discourage me from visiting ot.com than the moderators’ actual actions.
This.
Indeed, it’s just too much. The forum is fine, we’ve had several months to get used to a few changes, but I feel like we hear the same thing over and over again for a few actions that occurred in September… September!
I’m not upset, I just thought it was funny. Though, in retrospect I’d have been better off saying nothing.
Dude you really need to chill. He told you to stop sighing without explanation. He didn’t ban you for expressing your opinion.
actually he did once. Remember the 2nd temp ban he gave me?
I’m surprised you went with that instead of the recent “comparing someone to a Nazi will result in a ban” post in response to the “No one was banned for comparing us to Nazis” post. But that’s just me 😛.
I hate seeing a movie I’ve wanted for awhile going out of print, meaning I’ll probably never see it.
I guess I’m not sleeping today.
No, but I knew Peter Cushing had been dead for twenty years, and the whole idea made me uncomfortable.
Whaaaa?
This excites me. After Star Trek: Into Darkness and Star Trek Discovery, it can’t get any worse.
To her credit, the Austin Powers Cat in the Hat movie convinced her to never allow another live-action adaptation for any of his stories.
There’s been a recent Broadway play and I just saw a video of someone dressed on the street pretending to be the Grinch, and they really go for emulating Jim Carrey’s portrayal.
I dislike how the Grinch has become a buffoon recently, instead of the classic grouch voiced by Boris Karloff.
