I want to say something nice, and I read through this whole thread, which started out wonderful but quickly went off the rails. I used to laugh at Frink’s jokes, but I feel like the longer I’ve been here the angrier they become.
I want to thank Trident for being able to find something nice to say about everyone, Harmy, Mike Verta, and yes, -1, and everyone who assisted them for their efforts in preserving the Star Wars Trilogy. To poita for preserving other films at his own expense. And, to Silverwook and Jay for maintaining order here, most of the time 😛

Blu-ray players are indeed making their way into cars now, perhaps for the past few years. Though it is true that most cars on the road today only play DVDs.

I’ll go one for each film, otherwise it seems a bit like a cheat:
Star Wars - “Tell your uncle” instead of “Tell-uncle”. Maybe the recomp’d speeder.
Empire - “You’re lucky to get out of there”. Again, if it needs to be the picture instead of audio, then the “fix” to Han’s shirt.
Jedi - The recomps of the Rancor.

…not that we can’t try. The latest Project Threepio includes graphical subtitle files derived from 35mm scans. Not perfect, but not far off the mark.
Ooh! I stand corrected. I knew Harmy ripped 4k subtitles off of RotJ, but I didn’t know you had done work yourself. I suppose I’m a bit behind on a few projects.
Worst case scenario; I think R1 would be more Hunger Games with X-Wings and TIE Fighters rather than Divergent. The difference being that Hunger Games movies are watchable at worst, where Divergent movies are utter garbage.
I had the misfortune of watching one of those Divergent movies. Worst theatrical choice I made that year.
They can be found in the 16mm Puggo preseevations, and the various 35mm preservations. The Despecialized Edition uses these as a reference for its subtitles.

The movies are Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi. That’s what they’ve been called by everyone, so that’s what they will be called.

True, but I felt compelled to offer my viewpoint, since it’s literally the only one here that isn’t the same as everybody else’s here thus far. If I didn’t post, this thread would have just been one huge circle-jerk, so why even make the thread in the first place?
How? There were zero black people in ANH and then now suddenly black people exist in ESB and ROTJ. That can be seen as pandering.
Showing gay romance and the existence of gay people are totally different.
