Wow, I didn’t realize how common Aspergers is here. Feels a little weird.
It would be weird if it wasn’t.

Interesting. I don’t think we could not tell her, it’s part of what makes her who she is and who we love.
Indeed, especially since I assume she is very young, she’ll probably need some sort of boost, as I did. Eventually the difficulties associated with my Asbergers faded into the background, or at least weren’t as noticeable to an outsider, and in fact it surprised my closest friend when I mentioned it to him a few years ago. But my folks still treated me as a sort of anomaly, which kind of turned sour after awhile. My experience isn’t really indicative of yours at all, but since you replied I felt the need to further explain myself. I didn’t mean for the topic to sort of switch into a much more personal thing, I don’t think I’ve said this to anyone I actually know personally. Here’s wishing well to you, though.
My folks approached it very similarly, but perhaps went a bit overboard. I kind of wish they didn’t say anything.
Telling anyone that the way you’ve approached it is an insult, or at least immature.
Sorry about that, he wanted an honest opinion and he got that. Someone mentioned bandwagoning earlier, and we appear to see that again here with someone who agreed with me redacting their comments.
speaking as someone with Aspergers himself,
Oh hey, me too.
I think you might have Asbergers, or some other high-functioning form of autism. This is not meant to be an insult or slight against you, simply an observation. Your posts can be a little annoying, but not enough to take any effort to actively dislike you.
The Emperor didn’t seem too concerned about the battle itself, in fact I thought he tricked the Rebellion into attacking just so he could get to Luke.
I always thought Lucas’s favorite word was “white slavers”.
WRONG WORD COUNT
“slavers”

What I am not sure about however is why keep it around even when modern equipment can shoot and project at exactly 24 fps?
To keep a consistent standard, and to support legacy hardware, would be my guess.
Really looking forward to the restoration of the TESB, which IMO is the one with the worst transfer on blu-ray.
In what way? The changes are garbage and the color is not ideal (not as bad as ANH, though). Hopefully the next transfer will be better with regards to sharpening and noise reduction. But how is ESB anywhere remotely near the bottom of the list with all the atrocious blu-ray jobs out there. Just curious.
I think he might have meant it was the worst of the Star Wars movies, not of all movies.
I think I started reading topics here in about 2006, and was an off-and-on visitor for the following few years before deciding to create my account. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the things that have happened here.
It certainly won’t have more detail than the original negs, I don’t see how that could be possible as the prints are derived from them.
If they had more detail then I think we would be breaking some fundamental laws of physics 😃
Depends, it’s well known that the original negs are really beaten up. The prints are derived from it, sure, but they were derived from a nearly 40-year younger, pristine negative. At least, that’s how I imagine those claims make sense. I recall Mike saying something along those lines before.
I thought the ESB twist wasn’t in the script. They told Mark before they shot the scene. Am I thinking of something else?
I’m not that new. Yes I have seen people give the big FU, but over their artwork or opinions about artwork in the DVD covers section. I just hate when things get off topic & replced with name calling to the point where you wonder…what were we talking about??
But that happens all the time in this forum (especially when anime is the subject of discussion).
I’ve been lurking on this website for years, and all this anime hate everywhere only started in like the last couple of months. Or at least it was contained elsewhere and I never saw it.
Somehow I got an email for this thread but no others.
Who are you to tell women what they should be offended by?
The women I have met in my life have enjoyed anime more than me; in fact, they’re the ones who initially introduced me to it. So, in all honesty, this could be applied to you as well.
HansiG was banned?! Gee, you’re gone for a few days and you miss all the fun.
Jeez, you’re out of it for a little while and everyone starts getting delusions of grandeur.
So… Stupid question incoming but here you go: Is this more of a preservation of how it originally was shown in the cinemas than the “original theatrical version” they’re supposedly putting onto that new Blu-Ray come this September?
Yes.
I read the title of this topic and thought I was transported back to 1960.
Liking anime is just as valid as liking Star Wars (especially the way we like our Star Wars). I don’t understand this argument at all.
Greedo sounds like Guido.

Also, she genuinely wonders if the term “sand people” is politically correct anymore. I’m too scared to check the inter webs to see if she’s the only one but please, don’t let this be a thing.
As a college student, I assure you there are numerous others. Eergh.
The only good thing about AoTC was Jango Fett.
I disagree.
I wouldn’t really call it “huge”, honestly. Netflix is the number one video streaming service. It just makes sense for them to be on there.
I guess I would just expect Netflix to tout it on a much bigger scale, like nyah, nyah Hulu, look what we got. Disney is a pretty big fish to hook
But Hulu has Seinfeld!
I thought he was banned for pedophilia a long time ago.
