Comic book movies - who says yes and who says no?

But who should portray Iron Man, that is the question. I heard Tom Cruise was in talks to do it but he officially declared that the project won't be happening with him attached. Maybe they could ask Jim Caviezel? All he'd have to do is grow a mustache and he'd look like Tony Stark/Iron Man. The suit would probably be a bitch if they decide to actually build a suit and not CGI the damn thing.

Of the DC titles I would actually like to see Aquaman given his own film. A serious one, not a parody (as rumors have been circulating). I would also enjoy seeing films made about the Martian Manhunter, the Green Lantern and Dr. Fate. Justice League would also be nice along with Nightwing or maybe Green Arrow.

Of Marvel titles I would like to see a movie based on Marvel's "Mighty Thor" comics as well as films about Iron Man and Captain America IF done properly. Or just put them all in one movie and call it the Avengers (though it might cause confusion with the movie starring Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes that was based on the old TV show that came out a while back).

I saw "Constantine" earlier today and thought it okay though at times coming off as a supernatural version of the Matrix (is it me or has the Matrix franchise lost its cool factor?)

I just wish they would stop with making nothing but Batman and Superman films. I feel like I've been over-dosed on Batman and Superman films. I need a change of pace! And I can't find that change with X-Men and Spider-Man... though Hellboy was a fun diversion.

They'll never know for sure if the other DC titles like Green Lantern can carry a film until they give it a chance. But what can we expect from a Hollywood that poured millions of dollars into Halle Berry's craptacular "Catwoman"?

I'm surprised George Lucas can even remember his original vision after all these years (how the hell could Hayden Christensen-as-Anakin-s-ghost have possibly been a part of his original vision?).

But I could have sworn that the guy once said something like "The screenplay is what you start out with, and the final film is what you end up with."

Did anyone here catch the rumor about Jack Black being in talks to portray the Green Lantern? That one was a little scary actually.

One of the hardest things in making a Green Lantern film would be which Green Lantern do you go with, since there have been like four of them.

1) Alan Scott (the original Golden Age GL; blonde guy, AKA: the Sentinel)
2) Hal Jordan (second GL from the Silver Age; brown hair, looked like Paul Newman, arguably the most famous GL)
3) John Stewart (third GL, black guy)
4) Kyle Rayner (fourth GL, dark hair; I last heard he was muscled out by John Stewart because John was being featured on the animated Justice League series and next I hear he'll be muscled out by the return of Hal Jordan)

Logically you'd go with the most current one, but Hollywood doesn't always obey logic [COUGH::Catwoman::COUGH]
