Yes he played Jesus, so undoubtedly someone will make some wisecrack about it, but he really wanted the role until Singer decided to go young and cast Routh. Btw, there is no explanation of the ridiculously young cast other than they want to be able to make a franchise. Bosworth is by far the worst casting choice here; I would have much prefered Rose Byre, who looks like a young, hot Margot Kidder. I hope she proves me wrong, but I doubt it.

Margot Kidder was never hot.

Yeah, that'd actually be pretty cool. And Superman looked pretty cool with the long hair thing.

However, I didn't like when they made him into that blue electricity thing around '97. That was just... stupid-looking. How did they explain getting him out of that transformation? Or did they just reboot the continuity?

I have that comic...never read it...I just bought it cause the glow in the dark cover was cool my initial thought on the idea though was that it was such a radical change and i didnt really like it.

Well, the electric blue look from 1997 was another one of those let's-remind-the-world-Superman's-still-alive-with-a-big-time-publicity-stunt things. I think the outline was that Superman's classic powers were not functioning properly, he underwent some experiment to correct them and it turned him into electro-Superman. I actually saw a fan art manipulation once of Nicolas Cage as the electric blue Superman, and it was sort of scary.

I'll bet some would say the long hair linked Superman to the biblical strong man Samson (who also had great strength, courtesy of his long hair).

I want this movie to suceed, just because it has been so long since we've seen a Superman movie, and if it fails, I'm afraid it will be another long wait until they try again. But the time frame does have me worried that it will be a bomb, or at least confusing to the average moviegoer. Most won't really remember the previous series, or for the younger "smallville" crowd, may never have seen it.
The only good thing I can think of out of this is it does solve a problem of superhero/comic book movies have, and that is over half the film is dedicated to creating the hero/backstory stuff, and therefore leaves little time for the actual movie.

I was actually hoping that they do an adaptation of The Death/World Without/Rebirth of Superman.

The X-Men movies aren't really X-Men movies. They're Wolverine movies that co-star the X-Men.

Don't know if anyone heard this one, but the new "S" insignia on the new costume has actually been composed of a thousand tiny "S's", though it's only noticeable when you're seeing it up close. You can see it up close on the below link.

I'm pretty sure it was Dreadknocks, or Dreadnoks. I don't have a problem with Luanne on King of the Hill.
