Could be the cache it is using to process the files. I had similar issues when I made a personal edit. Try seeing if you can adjust the size of the cache during export.
I think it comes to laziness too. People would rather just pass out the cash instead of tracking them down online and making their own disc and case. It’s actually cheaper to do that but as stated before, people can be LAZY.

I would also do a version without “Widescreen Edition” since the majority of movies only come in widescreen now. Covers look great though!
I know during the the Battle of Having the additional scene of the TIE fighters arriving while the Imperial March plays will be removed.
I honestly hope he keeps that because that addition is great.
Any ideas as to when ROTJ will be released? Are you removing Vader’s “Nooooooo!” from the Palps-Luke scene too?
I can’t be bothered to check what it looked like in ANH, because I know that regardless, I dislike this recolor. I guess I’m on my own as someone who’s willing to edit the OT to fit PT under certain circumstances.

If it’s possible, I would like to find a different shot to place immediately prior to the Hosnian system being destroyed, instead of cutting to Leia. If we can avoid cutting to Leia, it can be left slightly ambiguous about whether she is reacting via the Force to the planetary destruction only or if Han’s death is part of it. This one may need to stay as is, since it was hard enough to find enough shots to include!
Maybe use the shots of Kylo on the shuttle but somehow replace him with someone else or crop the footage to cut him out.
Rey thinking Luke Skywalker was a myth could stay in, later in the movie Han confirms to her that the Jedi were real and that resolves that part of Rey’s beliefs and allows her to realize that Luke actually was a real person and not just a story. Rey believes in “The Legend of Luke” and everything she’s heard until she meets him in TLJ and has her expectations subverted, fitting with that movie’s theme.
New changes are good to better match with TLJ, please leave in V2 for SKB. I would be willing to view a workprint again when you have one ready 😃

I have an idea of who he is playing, but it’s a big surprise, if it turns out to be true. I think his character would be new to the franchise, but connected to the Original Trilogy. If not, then he’s just a new new character.

Well, according to them it was seamless and if I hadn’t told them then they never would have guessed it was a fanedit.
However, for the movie itself, they just thought “it was okay and that they could have done more, it felt like they are running out of ideas.”

Watched it recently, it’s much better but on a personal subjective level, it doesn’t quite cut out enough for me. Biggest problem is that you left in the kids at the end which now make zero sense in the context of the film. On a technical level it was masterful as always though.
I used to agree with you, but just assume a passage of time. The kids don’t have to be from Canto Bight, they can just be kids anywhere inspired by Luke.
