I’ve always hated broom boi so I would be down for this. And I think the Canto Bight scene can stay as it helps build the world or revert to the V1 version. Swap the shots of the Falcon in hyperspace and group shot and circle out with the group shot in the Falcon. I did a sample of this before. If I find the link I will attach below.

One more nitpick on the radio scene. Are you able to extend the last shot of the radio slightly longer to finish out the music? It gives the audience a little longer to figure out what is going on and the music helps to play into the mystery. By the time we hear the Falcon it will be quiet and a little more somber.

Another Palpatine hint could be adding one in towards the beginning of the movie when Rey is training with Luke, the “you went straight to the dark scene” a subtle quiet laugh could be added before Luke screams “Rey!”

The problem with using that is it hurts the timeline of the films and will hurt the opening of ROS. A year is supposed to pass between films. The Emperor’s goal at this point of the story would be for Kylo to seek him out. Only Kylo is only supposed to get a hint of what is out there.

The Fortnite message would play a lot better in ROS. The common idea around here seems to be the removal of Palpatine from the crawl of IX and have his return happen in movie. We would actualy hear the broadcast at the beginning of the movie when the Star Destroyers raise up from the ice.

Also, even ROS copies direct Palpatine dialog from the prequels so reusing lines is something even the original filmmakers are doing. 😃

I like this version a lot more. Don’t know why but it just feels more natural. The eyes at the end just make the last shot of Kylo in the movie too rushed the more I think if it.

This version, I adjusted timing slightly (hopefully an improvement), tweaked the effects on the voice, and added in just a little bit of the Emperor’s theme.

Gave it a second watch and the audio sounds great. I would suggest flipping the 2nd and 3rd reactions shots from Kylo.

I would make Palpatine’s laugh a little quieter, I also added a radio effect over his voice just to blend it better. Otherwise 👍👍👍

Also, from what we know from IX, as soon as Palps realizes Luke is gone, he jumps at Kylo.

I agree with your point, but I think one of TLJ’s main issues is that the ending doesn’t really build up to anything in IX in a satisfying way. Hopefully by adding some hint of what is to come it will help make the trilogy feel more well-thought-out

Unfortunately my video editor that I use is trash, and anything I make won’t be nearly as good of quality and there are framerate issues and audio problems. I had a hard enough time getting that video out.

I am thinking cropped 4K shots to hide the repeats and I think we might have something good. I can help with the structuring of the scenes and possibly an audio track, but as far as messing with the video, I think I already hit the max my PC will let me!

I’m just not sure how to encorporate Ben in the Finale. Maybe remove the Rey Skywalker scene and add Ben in the last scene with Rey.

Maybe we can create a ghostly sounding version of Palpatine’s lines of “Find me, and your journey towards the dark side will be complete!” with a reaction shot from Kylo.

I’ll try to throw something together tonight.

Save the Fortnite message for the beginning of IX when the Star Destroyers are rising out of the ice.

Some changes for a potential V3:

From Hal 9000’s V3:

• Add Emperor laughing as Luke looks into Kylo’s mind during the third and final flashback

• Remove Snoke’s line about “destroying the entire island” due to removal of Caretakers

• Reinstate Finn’s line about “miniaturized Death Star tech” as it unfortunately ties into IX.

• Removed slow-motion shot as Luke dodges a swipe from Kylo during their duel

Other Changes:

• Add Rey seeing a flash of Palpatine to her mirror vision?

• Remove mentions of Rey being “Nobody” and her parents death during Kylo’s speech.

• Remove Leia saying that she knows her son is gone, since in IX she still believes he can be turned.

• Find some way to include Palpatine at the end to give us something to be excited for IX about. The scene could be placed between the Falcon in Hyperspace and Broom Boi.
