Looks amazing! Can’t wait 😃
Looks amazing! Can’t wait 😃
I personally prefer the Shaw version of the ghost because I think that’s what Luke would wish to see, but I can’t deny others their (wrong) opinions.
Same! I didn’t mean to derail the thread with Shaw vs. Hayden. Shaw always wins!
I was just suggesting could some edits be done to Shaw to make him look a tad younger. If not, whatevs!
Any thoughts on updating Shaw’s ghost appearance? Canonically, Anakin is supposed to be around 45 years old-ish, but has a full head of gray. Not that it would be essential, but what if his hair was a little longer or colored darker?
What about pulling from Zahn?
Star Wars, Ahoska: Survivor’s Quest
Here is a summary of the Legends novel Survivor’s Quest:
Here is a summary of the fanedit:
The Survivor could be referring to
What about this for Poe’s lines?
He’s been planning his revenge. His followers have been building something for years.
They’ve modified an enormous stockpile of Imperial Star Destroyers.
He calls it the Final Order.
Just one of these ships would decimate us.
The Emperor and his fleet have been hiding in the Unknown Regions, on a world called Exegol.
The goal here being to make the lines sound more like something Poe would say instead of just reading off of exposition cue cards 😉
Lightspeed “slipped” sounds a lot cleaner than “clipped”. I think it should be “slipped”, but up to Hal!
Back to the illustration on the page…
I feel adding the picture of the force healing adds way more to the Ancient Texts, and helps to explain how the concept is new for a final installment of the series. I’m sure if that was in the film when it was first released the concept of “force healing” wouldn’t be as much of a hot topic because the assumption would be that it is ancient knowledge the Jedi of the prequels did not know.
We see the Wayfinder at the beginning with Kylo, and Rey shows Leia in the book later on when she hears Exegol mentioned at the briefing.
ALSO… the Wayfinder illustration is in Luke’s journal, not the Ancient Texts. It makes more sense for Rey to be reading through the ancient texts after her “failed” run at the obstacle course as she is pushing herself into learning more. It is then at the briefing that she heals “Exegol” and remembers it from Luke’s journal, she then tells Leia it is called a Wayfinder and you need it to get there, almost as if she is seeing the Wayfinder for the first time.
Okay mini-rant over LOL
“Lightspeed-clipping” through the ice wall works for me!
Screw the Wayfinder, healing is the way to go 😉
The Wayfinder is already established at the beginning of the film. Having the texts have ancient knowledge is way better than a forced-McGuffin.
What’s very funny is that all of these problems also apply to these same characters being present during the original trilogy.
Ezra was in the other galaxy. Where the hell was Ahsoka at?!
Could we get a version without letterboxing encoded into the video? I have an ultrawide monitor and it looks like this.
Learn how to crop the video in VLC. Very easy fix 😉
Speaking of Pixar… I just rewatched Incredibles 2.
Upon thinking it was a letdown when I saw it opening night, I must say it was a fun experience this time around.
Sure it’s never gonna be as great as the original, but I had fun with it, and am learning to appreciate it. I do hope they will eventually make a third with the characters aged up by 10+ years.
It still blows my mind we had a Cars trilogy between these two movies.
Given the new breakthroughs in AI, would it make sense to revisit the radio scene at the end of the Palps version to help better mesh together TLJ and TROS?
Instead of him just saying “Find me.”, we could pretty much have Palps say whatever is needed now.
For example:
Political polarization in the US increased dramatically around the turn of the 21st century, most likely due to the advent of 24-hour news networks. The Internet and social media then took this trend and injected it with steroids.
Social media is a cancer in modern society.
Bringing this thread full circle…
This is the lamest art they could have chosen for the Spider-Man trilogy in 4K:

The Spider-Man 3 black suit logo reflection in his lens is atrocious.
There are so many better simplistic choices they could have chosen.
Give me a double-sided insert!

Any updates on this?
I know political discussion is off-limits on this site, but I have something to b*tch about and I don’t think it crosses too much into the extreme to make a point about.
I miss the times when people on the opposite sides of the spectrum would actually listen to the other side’s opinion and try to find a middle-ground. The culture in the USA today is literally like Anakin said: “If you’re not with me… then you’re my enemy!”
It’s sad that opinions need to be hid or people aren’t willing to talk to someone else over something like political ideology. My closest friend just happens to be on the opposite side of my beliefs, and it has been one of the purest and great friendships I have ever had. We challenge each other’s opinions, which in most cases, leads us both to having a better understanding of a political issue and then we try to figure out what could potentially be something that could make both sides happy, or at least accepting of the outcome.
I wish more people would think like us. It is so frustrating being around so many close-minded people.

Because I have a habit of always writing and rewriting crawls…
EPISODE VII
THE FORCE AWAKENSLuke Skywalker has vanished.
Without the legendary Jedi
Master’s presence, the galaxy
has fallen into despair.Rising from the shadows
of a hidden fortress,
sinister agents of the
fallen Empire have reformed
as the evil FIRST ORDER,
conquering worlds far beyond
the reach of the fragile
NEW REPUBLIC government.Desperate to aid these
besieged systems, the
RESISTANCE, an unauthorized
military force, has been
searching for the last
Jedi, hoping his return will
restore peace and justice
to the darkening stars…
EDIT: I have edited this post way too many times trying to make this crawl perfect. 😄
Would this be because we don’t know if Luke is there on the island? I don’t really see why that distinction would be important.
My thought being the intial confusion by the audience of “why did Luke leave map if he didn’t want to be found?”.
To help clear it up some, would a new AI line for Kylo work?
Kylo Ren:
“The map to Skywalker. We know you found it. And now you’re going to give it to the First Order.”
“The map to the first Jedi Temple, and possibly Skywalker. We know you found it. And now you’re going to give it to the First Order.”
I’d agree about not having broadcasts, but I think there is some merit about cutting out his cheering when taking out stormtroopers.
What you could do for this one:
You could just add a line for Finn on the open comm:
Finn: “You don’t need to fight for them.”
Random Trooper: “It’s the Traitor! Shoot them down.”
I’d argue the more C3PO lives and learns, the more personable he becomes and develops what could be seen as emotions.
More or less his experiences are what influences his opinions on certain situations, and those opinions could be seen as him having emotions.
5 ● 0 ● 3 ● 5
I got the new sets from Ahsoka. The new Ghost is so much better but is lacking in the minifigs compared to the original release.
I think that may be a little too much for this edit though. How would Finn even be able to get a hologram projected onto First Order ships? Seems a little much to me.
I think the Jannah stuff is good enough for the context of this edit. Maybe if possible, you can reference the rest of Jannah’s crew being stormtroopers during the final battle.
Finn: “Not bad for ex-stormtroopers”
Not bad for one lesson
Jannah: “We have a good leader”
You had a good teacher
I just realized: Why not replace the shot from TROS of Leia clinging to Han’s medal with the shot from TLJ with her holding Han’s dice? It’s something that means more to the Sequel Trilogy rather than being a callback, & it further sets up the idea of Leia summoning Han’s force ghost for Ben later on.
She doesn’t have them, Luke does. Doesn’t he take them off the Falcon in TLJ and then they aren’t seen again?
