I know political discussion is off-limits on this site, but I have something to b*tch about and I don’t think it crosses too much into the extreme to make a point about.
I miss the times when people on the opposite sides of the spectrum would actually listen to the other side’s opinion and try to find a middle-ground. The culture in the USA today is literally like Anakin said: “If you’re not with me… then you’re my enemy!”
It’s sad that opinions need to be hid or people aren’t willing to talk to someone else over something like political ideology. My closest friend just happens to be on the opposite side of my beliefs, and it has been one of the purest and great friendships I have ever had. We challenge each other’s opinions, which in most cases, leads us both to having a better understanding of a political issue and then we try to figure out what could potentially be something that could make both sides happy, or at least accepting of the outcome.
I wish more people would think like us. It is so frustrating being around so many close-minded people.
Because I have a habit of always writing and rewriting crawls…
EPISODE VII
THE FORCE AWAKENSLuke Skywalker has vanished.
Without the legendary Jedi
Master’s presence, the galaxy
has fallen into despair.Rising from the shadows
of a hidden fortress,
sinister agents of the
fallen Empire have reformed
as the evil FIRST ORDER,
conquering worlds far beyond
the reach of the fragile
NEW REPUBLIC government.Desperate to aid these
besieged systems, the
RESISTANCE, an unauthorized
military force, has been
searching for the last
Jedi, hoping his return will
restore peace and justice
to the darkening stars…
EDIT: I have edited this post way too many times trying to make this crawl perfect. 😄
Would this be because we don’t know if Luke is there on the island? I don’t really see why that distinction would be important.
My thought being the intial confusion by the audience of “why did Luke leave map if he didn’t want to be found?”.
To help clear it up some, would a new AI line for Kylo work?
Kylo Ren:
“The map to Skywalker. We know you found it. And now you’re going to give it to the First Order.”
“The map to the first Jedi Temple, and possibly Skywalker. We know you found it. And now you’re going to give it to the First Order.”
I’d agree about not having broadcasts, but I think there is some merit about cutting out his cheering when taking out stormtroopers.
What you could do for this one:
You could just add a line for Finn on the open comm:
Finn: “You don’t need to fight for them.”
Random Trooper: “It’s the Traitor! Shoot them down.”
I’d argue the more C3PO lives and learns, the more personable he becomes and develops what could be seen as emotions.
More or less his experiences are what influences his opinions on certain situations, and those opinions could be seen as him having emotions.

I got the new sets from Ahsoka. The new Ghost is so much better but is lacking in the minifigs compared to the original release.
I think that may be a little too much for this edit though. How would Finn even be able to get a hologram projected onto First Order ships? Seems a little much to me.
I think the Jannah stuff is good enough for the context of this edit. Maybe if possible, you can reference the rest of Jannah’s crew being stormtroopers during the final battle.
Finn: “Not bad for ex-stormtroopers”
Not bad for one lesson
Jannah: “We have a good leader”
You had a good teacher
I just realized: Why not replace the shot from TROS of Leia clinging to Han’s medal with the shot from TLJ with her holding Han’s dice? It’s something that means more to the Sequel Trilogy rather than being a callback, & it further sets up the idea of Leia summoning Han’s force ghost for Ben later on.
She doesn’t have them, Luke does. Doesn’t he take them off the Falcon in TLJ and then they aren’t seen again?
The ‘hidden power’ is the Final Order fleet, not Palpatine himself.
It is way too long for a Star Wars crawl. Usually they are shorter and more concise.
Okay…
Years have passed since Jedi Padawan, Ezra Bridger, and the menacing IMPERIAL GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN went missing. Rumors now spread of Thrawn’s survival, which could reignite war throughout the galaxy.
Failing to convince the NEW REPUBLIC to act, AHSOKA TANO, former Jedi Apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, has taken it upon herself to investigate this emerging threat.
Ahoska has recruited a former student and friend of Ezra, Sabine Wren, to assist in her quest. Together, they have tracked the location of an escaped prisoner, who is in possession of a secret map which is vital to Thrawn’s return…
“Poe, people are rising up all over the galaxy. Stormtroopers are rebelling against the First Order.”
You could start the movie halfway through episode 3 when Ahsoka and Sabine drop out of hyperspace near the planet where Morgan is at with the map. Here is a crawl that could work, also better explaining the state of things so Rebels won’t be as much of a requirement:
It has been years since the heroic Jedi Padawan, Ezra Bridger, and the menacing IMPERIAL GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN went missing during the Battle of Lothal. During their exile, the EVIL GALACTIC EMPIRE has fallen, but rumors are now spreading of Thrawn’s return, which would galvanize the IMPERIAL REMNANTS and reignite war throughout the galaxy.
Sinister agents have infiltrated the new fragile government and are already at work to undermine the newfound peace. Failing to convince the NEW REPUBLIC to act, AHSOKA TANO, former Jedi Apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, has taken it upon herself to investigate this emerging threat.
Forming an uneasy alliance, Ahoska has recruited a former student and friend of Ezra, Sabine Wren, to assist in her quest. They have tracked the location of a recently escaped prisoner, MORGAN ELSBETH, who is in possession of a secret map which is vital to the enemy’s plan…
Added a replacement line for Rey to say: “Lightspeed clipped”
The one in V3 sticks out as being AI a little too much in my opinion.
Hey @TGWNN, did you have any updates on this? Excited to see what’s to come.
Hey @NeverarGreat, any updates on V2?
Deepfake Palpatine’s face over Snoke’s so that he looks like a failed Palpatine clone.
Have one of the First Order officers suggest he looks like Palpatine and “Snoke” sneakily makes him choke and die while he’s eating lunch.
Is there any reason the “movie” couldn’t just start with Episode 3 and the opening crawl updated to state that Ahsoka and Sabine are en route to stop villians who broke Morgan out of jail and have a map to Thrawn?
Think of it as:
Anything left for V4?
I’m assuming Palpatine isn’t gonna have any added lines.
Updated Rey vision scene
New force healing illustration in the ancient Jedi texts
Rey mentions the texts to BB-8 when she heals the sandworm
Rey’s line changed from “your brother’s saber” to “your family’s saber”
Leia tells Rey, “You are family” when she departs
Leia now ends her Jedi Path because she felt called to serve via diplomacy as their mother did
New dialogue for Poe during the briefing scene
Kylo Ren calls Palpatine “a ghost in a rotting clone”
New lines for Jannah to establish that her stormtrooper mutiny was inspired by Finn
EDIT:
^ Dave Filoni: “I don’t think you would need to watch any [episodes of Rebels],” he said. “They’re all available on Disney+, so you can check them out there and that would be great”.
Let’s not take things out of context…
“They’re all available on Disney+, so you can check them out there and that would be great, but… for me, if you really were interested in [Rebels] and if it got people that maybe don’t – aren’t as interested in animation into it, I would start [with], probably, like, maybe the episode, “Jedi Night,” where the sad thing happens to Kanan. Even if you didn’t understand what that was, it would propel you forward. If you just watch Season 4 [of Rebels], you’d be set [for Ahsoka].”
So why not just make it animated and call it Rebels Season 5?
Making it live action implies that it’s a continuation of the current live action shows like Mando Season 2 where Ashoka showed up previously. It’s totally understandable why average viewers are confused that they have to watch an animated kids show set before the Galactic Civil War to understand what’s happening in a presumably adult-oriented post-Galactic Civil War show.
In all honestly, it likely should have been animated. But since they want Thrawn as the big bad of the Mandoverse, and they painted themselves into a corner with the ending of Rebels, what other choice did they have?
What bothers me most about the show is the fact that it is something made strictly for those who watched Rebels.
The problem is that they had stated MULTIPLE times before the series aired that it was basically Rebels, Season 5. Watching Rebels beforehand is a requirement to understand what is happening in the show.
So it is kind of funny to me that people complain about that as a weak point for the show, the solution is easy… watch Rebels first. This show is a SEQUEL. Are you going to watch Jedi before Empire? Or Last Jedi before Force Awakens?
I think the new illustration works great and should be left alone.
We already see the lightsaber looks different and that Rey fixed it. It doesn’t need more explanation than that.
We see Kylo’s Wayfinder at the beginning of the movie and it leading him to Exegol. Rey hears Exegol and remembers reading it in Luke’s journal and it says you need a Wayfinder to get there. Easy.
Force healing is the issue. It randomly pops up out of nowhere in the film. Seeing the hint of it early on in the texts and then having Rey enforce that she learned it by reading the texts later on works wonderfully.
The ancient texts work better when they have knowledge of unknown force powers. Not being an encyclopedia of new items in Episode IX. Save that for Luke’s journal.
