Sorry I havn't been aroung guys. Florida got hit by a pretty tame, but weird hurricane... we weren't sure when it was gonna hit. It seriously sat off the coast for like 3 days before it decided to do something and a lot of areas south of me were flooded. I took my computer offline during that time and I'm just now catchingup.
Looks like some interesting developments are coming along.
I wish there were a way to keep track of the things we've conversed about... so we don't keep getting the same damn questions over and over again... it makes it sooo difficult for me to keep up especially.
As far as that whole edit for the invasion of Hoth, I find that some of those ideas are REALLY cool... I know you've already commented on it Ady, but I concur with what your saying about not having the executor too close... but adding in some star destroyers... great ideas.
As far as the musical aspect, of which I have some expertise lol, I would ahve to concur as well that the removal of the extremely strong/emotional force theme for when luke and Leia speak through the force, I think is a bad idea. It's so powerful as is.
As for musical changes, the only thing I'd suggest is for the arrival at cloud city, there are two takes available of the music,. One with the choir mixed much louder and the instruments fucked up, and the one on the Anthology which is the film take. If you wanted more choir, I could mix the two easily... but its up to you... I dunno if the choir was meant to be heard that loudly.

I would hate to get into an extra-cannonical argument on who's leading the rebels... but if I had to venture a bet... I'd say that Leia, Luke, and Han are those who choose that position.
Notice Mon Mothma isn't with them.. I would say that the Rebel Alliance broke apart... and sent out to distant corners of the galaxy so that if they did get attacked, the whole alliance woudn't be destroyed in "one swift stroke."
Then you have the alliance fleet out in space.
If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that Luke could have led the alliance to Hoth saying it was a good place to hide... using the force as his guide... but not knowing much about EU I couldn't say... but it is, I suppose, a bit odd of a line. He's not REALLY in charge... but he could have still led them to Hoth...
Like how Lara Roslin led the caravan of the stars to the home of the 13th colony... she may not have done it alone... but the records of Pithia say such... is she wrong? lol

Adywan has mentioned that perhaps when the prequels come out in better quality, he'll go back and redo them. How hard will it be to remove one line from the film saying that Boba is a clone of himself.
Not that hard.
I'm kinda for replacing the lines with the original voice, and then when you get to the prequels, remove that SINGLE line... and viola... all better...Now we dont' know who Boba's mother is... but do we need to know? No.
And yes, voices have a bit to do with genetics, but yes, they have to do with the situation and how they are developed. As much as Boba loves his father and IS his father, he should have the same voice in that sense...
Especially if Jango is as notorious as he is. To be known as the son of Jango would be something he'd hold with pride.
Past that, I think that just removing the single line about Boba being Jango's clone, we can then just say the voice is different becuase he is a different person...
As far as changes to the film, The suggestion terminal is updated as much as I can, but a lot of what people are suggesting and bogging Adywan's time down with are suggestions that have been made and are already on the list.
I just thought I should say that maybe people should check that before they post... it might help.
As far as Dagobah, I kinda agree with you Ady however I'm almost certain there is a high res image of Dagobah from Episode III floating around online. I've seen it. I had it on my computer for some time... But I agree.
However, I do think that Bespin should look different... yes, it's cloudy... but it should look more like a gas giant. Maybe you could kinda get some of the colors off of the Episode III planet that Mustafar is floating around.
I don't mind the removal of a lot of the extra SE stuff for Empire... the wampa... Vader leaving for his shuttle and such. You could still incorporate, with some crafty editing, certain things, but I don't see the point. It's obvious Vader doesn't stay at Bespin lol...

Maybe the downconversion from 1080 is the problem... maybe something that'll preserve more quality...

Well, the fires destroyed the vaults at Universal in Hollywood. The origianlly reported that they were masters, then the PR guy said it was just copies... but I know people who work for the company and they told me that it was really the masters, but they said it was the copies to keep their stock from tumbling. They literally lost everything. All they have are copies of the films now... dating all the way back to I Love Lucy up to modern films like Fast and the Furious...
BUt anywho... back on topic
Well, with most of the original master prints from Universal completely destroyed, I don't see them converting most of their films to anything past DVD scale for a bit.
and i was sooo looking forward to seeing Jurassic Park in its full glory :(

the PAL speedup is noticeable... mostly auditorially.
Although I do have to say, TNT often plays Jurassic Park sped up... but while trying to keep intact the audio "pitch" so it kinda warbles at times...
THAT is noticeable... I don't know how much they speed up the film but the speed up is extremely noticeable. Especially when you're use to the pacing in the regular NTSC version...

He's been keeping pretty up to date in the main thread, so the only thing I'm doing is adding suggestions he likes... or ones he's not commenting on.
If he's commented on one saying "I'm not going to do that," then what purpose does it serve for me to put it in this thread? Especially when he's already said "I'm not doing it."
If you don't see it in this thread, post about it in the main thread. If he shoots it down, then he shoots it down and it won't be added.
This is more of a checklist for him. To make it easier for him. But he's been keeping pretty up to date in the main thread so there was not too much to be done here or added. It was mostly in the first 80 pages or so where he wouldn't post for 2-3 pages and there's be about 12 different suggestions.
I also don't adjust the list every day. I do have a life as well, but when i get a chance, I sit down and I read every damned post and if there is something suggested that's not on the list, or that ady doesn't comment on or says he'll do, I add them.
I update it.
If your idea isn't put on it,then it was shot down... or Ady said he wasn't doing it...

As for the Jacket... As I said earlier in this thread... what something looks like in reality, is NOT what it looks like on film. Clothing, walls, paint, everything looks different after being filmed due to lighting and other affects.
You ahve to take that into account and kinda accept it as a form of... stylized reality...
What may look blue to one camera is brown to another and so on and so fourth...
