Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)
Time
I thought I'd mentioned I was reuploading the flac files?

I had some trouble last night,. I had maybe 2 left...and then I accidently started overwriting one...so I stopped got so flustered I deleted all the flac files... and now I'm re-uploading them.

As for Lapti Nek, i used several sources:

1) The Making of Documentary "From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga"

2) Original Original Trilogy DVD release (ripped the channles)

3) The extended and instrumental album track of Lapti Nek

Taking all three of those, I was able to create a facimilie of the Film version of Lapti Nek. I tried to be as close to it as possible... but I do realize they aren't identical... but they are close enough.

Oh, and By the Way... I dont' know why, but do NOT download more than one at a time and download them straight from the site. I was talking to someone once and they used some special download program to download the .rar's. If you do that, it will corrupt files.

Just right click, save as. Download.

Currently, the Episode I FLAC files are uploaded. I'm fixing episode III right now.

You're all very welcome. I'm trying to upload the Flac files... I had to update the scores so these are all updated... brand new. Some people have gotten them before but these are newly updated as of today. heh

I'm currently working on my Episode II edits. I'm pretty excited about it. I've learned some new techniques. I'll keep you all updated.

Also, just as a precaution, I was asked to remind you all that you can download them, but make sure you own the albums and such.

Glad you all enjoythem. If you ahve questions, let me know.

Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)
Time

[[ – UPDATE!!: The FTP is back up and I just uploaded the new Index, but I have yet to reupload everything so Currently Episode II is the only thing available – ]]

Hey everyone, I’m kinda new here but you may be somewhat familiar with my other thread on my Battle For Naboo re-edit or from my other videos on YouTube under my name on there, BrachioInGen.

If not, my videos on there predominately are videos from the Star Wars Saga/Jurassic Park Trilogy where I take scenes that have eaither alternate takes, or music that was unused and I replace the music back into the scene.

Anyways, in my Battle For Naboo re-edit, it came to some peoples attention that on JWfan.net, I had led a project of compiling and correcting the scores to Star Wars. Currently, I’ve only done Episode I and Episode III. Not much was released for Episode II in the games and such but like the OT, there are plans to work on that.

To give you an idea of what I’ve done, I’ve taken the UE, Album, DVD, DVD Feturetts, and all the video Game rips and compiled THE complete score including alternate takes.

Sorry to be so confusing guys. I just had read the rules and that's what it said. the person who directed me to this site--because they said you all had some great edits and stuff and that you might be interested in mine--said to be careful about distributing things, even through PM...

it's why I'm not.

I brouht it up with one of the head people. They said I could as long as it didn't inclue anything from the Album or UE... The problem is that the set does. It relies heavily on both. Things that arn't on them, I took from video games to correct them as the UE is woefully edited and the Album is like most JWs, incomplete and not meant as a score, but just as a separate entitiy.

If you want to read about my efforts for episode I, read this thread here:
Episode I

Or for Episode II-III

I know this may be too late or even redundant.. but what are you doing about the music? Were you able to mantane the sound quality? Jumping from mono to stereo--for me atleast--is too jarring when it comes to music...espeially when the question of where the music is comming from comes into play.

I just thought I'd ask if you're doing anything about that.

Call me crazy, but I thought that the sending out of files and stuff like that wasn't allowed by the boar rules...

I remmeber reading that somewhere lol..

As far as where it came from, I made it using video game rips from almost every Lucas Arts game that came out. I also made sure that th release dates predated Episode II so that there wasn't any crossover. I did those separeately, as I did as well with Episode III.

I mean, if I'm allowed to I will, I just thought it was against the rules and that I would be banned for even so much as having this conversation...

Thanks for the kind comments on the videos. If you have any questions, let me know. Some people on JWFan are contesting some of the parts saying that the music is incorrect, but I happen to disagree with them lol...and with good reason... so if you have any questions. I'm willing to answer them :-D

Battle for Naboo Re-Edit (Completed)
Time

Hey all.

Seeing as I’m new here, let me give a bit of a back story.

With the help of some people on JWfan.net, I finished putting together quite possibly the most extensive fan made release of Star Wars music ever with my 4 disc (nearly 5 hours), complete score of Episode I including alternate takes, unused cues, interviews, live performances, concert recordings…etc.

Well, I was talking to someone recently and they were very interested in the fanedit and were familiar with my edits on YouTube (under the name " BrachioInGen " ). He asked me if I would consider doing one of “The Great Duel.” I said sure, and started out by lookng for unused material, as I’d been told the reason they used different music was because it was re-edited.

Well, I tested that theroy and found it to be false. That the track actually fits quite well, if not beig too short actually.

It then occured to me that I had found unused shots in the DVD feturettes (that’s all I use plus the film) from earlier parts of the film, so I decided to go back and make a complete edit using my complete score.

The changes were extencive. I had to change orders of shots, remove things, restructure parts… and in the end, I gained a far better understanding of what exactly John Williams was saying with the cues: what specifially was the music meant to accompany.

And this is the result.

The entire sequence is broken down. A lot of things with the gungans were restructured as well as the hangar battle. Jar Jar moments were, strangely enough, almost entirely eliminated. Shots are moved around to where they are meant to be and music is synced up appropriatly with the action. Several unused shots are re-incorporated into the sequence as well.

Now, you’re probably wondering “How can you POSSIBLY know how things were in the original cut?”

My answer, I worked with what I know:

I know John Williams has specific visual cues he tries to accompany.
I know the order of the cues.
I have the original cues.
and I have a good eye for this sort of thing.

So, all of this combined, I can say that the edit I’ve made is quite nearly what the original cut was. There are undoubtedly differences, but I can say that the general idea is the same and the evidence is in the videos.

So… take a look, let me know what you think…

NOTE: I had originally hoped to include the film SFX in the videos as well. I ripped all the audio channels and did my best to diminish the music and just leave the SFX… unfortunately, there were too many scenes where the music was simply too prolific and without blasting your eardrums out, there wouldbe no way to distinguish between what as where.

Also, certain scenes like “Anakin Takes Off” and “Battle for Naboo III” are very nearly how it is in the film. Unfortunately, in the fim, they seem to have purposely moved the music off of the visual cues established by the score. I wanted to match the cues, so hearing both the film and mine being slightly off from eachother was another drawback which led me to the decision to simply use music and video.

I might have to see if I can get a rip from them. Is it stored in a specific file or place? I know that the music files were stored that way...it's how I was able to get a lot of the unreleased music was siply ripping the music files.

I'll talk to my fiend about it. I only need a few sounds.

Thanks again

Update:

I've done some preliminary mixes of the sounds and music...so far so good. THere are only two scenes that I added that need their original sounds replaced because of people talking over the rips... I'm currently mixing it all to test it.

You mean just the music? Thanks, but I have it. I've made my own complete edit of the score (4 cds worth of material including a 40 min interview, alternate takes, flubbed takes, alternates, concert suites, and live recordings).

Thanks anyways. The only thing I would need would be the isolated sound effects. If anyone knowshow I can get some sound effects that would be helpfull.

I have the lucasarts sound effect library, but those arn't starwars sound effects...they're just raw sounds so ..

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I've finished the video editig. All I have left is the audio.

Yea... is there some sort of link or... where did you read that article from at least? I will have to check the book store...

I just know that there has been talk before about how the final battle for Naboo had been re-cut like 16 times and John Williams was asked to re-score some things several times and how he as slightly annoyed by it... I've found almost all the material available musically and visually... I just wanted to try to make my edit as...authentic as possible.

Right now, I'm pretty sure of how I'm doing it. I've only diverged in one part and that was I moved the section for "Droid Battle" forward from where it is listed on the cue lis (which is unofficial and already known to be inaccurate). Rather than having it after "up the wire" (when they launch their grappling hooks) and before "The Great Duel," I moved it to before "Battle for Naboo III" which starts off with the edited out segment of the lightsaber battle and then shows Anakin in space and more of the Gungan batle... it fits better ther I think because if it's pushed till latter, it makes the time lapse between the activatio of the droids and their march upon the Gungan army too long.

Unfortunately, I had to remove a lot of video. I did it for the sake of keeping the music authentic. There are a lot of little edits... shifting the orders of shots to match up with specific musical cues, and also fixing the film becuase in the theatrical cut, the whole battle takes much longer and is, theirfore, re-edited wth more footage.

I should be done with the preliminary video/music in a moment. I hope to begin working on the sound soon.

Thanks for all the help

Shooting script.. .hmm... didn't think of that!

DOes anyone know of one of those? or where one of those are??

And thanks hehe...

I know this doesn't have to do with my thread, but there is one thing I'd like to add... I found it in one of the making of featuretts

I need to add some bars to it--its ok if it squishes the image a bit--becuse I want to intercut it with the film rip... I heard there was a walkthrough on here somewhere but I am at a loss as to where on the site... Someoneknw where they are?

Thanks...

What I'm trying to do is take the complete score and compare it to the film to find out what the edit was hen JW scored he film. I'm comparing it to the scripts and it still doesn't fit right.

Like in the scene where the droid ships start firing at the gungans but they're in the shield. It says that happends after the battle in the courtyard. Musically, that doens't work because the music for that scene clearly indicates they begin firing before the transition to the courtyard music.

The script is eaither too early or too late... I'mnot sure whch to think. Is it the only one available? The one I have I think is the same..

Well, by the overwhelming responce, I can see that I have one of two answers:

There exists no other script past the final version,

or

I put this in the wrong area... It is a request so I put it in the fan request and help area... If Ineed to move it I can but have not been asked to.

Well, I thought I should also mention that I made the edit without the script. I've included all the removed shots I could find and am currently working on the sound portion.

Will keep you all updated.

Hey all, I'm new here. I've neve posted beore so I guess this is also my 'hi' post.

Most of you are probably completely unfamiliar with me, but my tag on here and a few othersites (JWFan.net) is GoodMusician. My Tag on both JPLegacy and YouTube is BrachioInGeN... So if you've seen those names, they're me :-P

I'm an avid John Williams fan, and a completist. If they sold every take of every cue on a 15 cd set, I'd sell my soul for it lol

Anyways, if you're familiar with me, you'll know that I have posted several videos on YouTube where I am inessence, studying John Williams score to the Star Wars Saga (including some Jurassic Park trilogy thrown in for good measure ;-) ).

Anyways, a recent project of mine has ben restoration of the complete scores, namely finding unreleased bits in video games and the such. I've used that to make a pretty extencive score study of Episode I, and Episde III to a far lesser extent. Episode II, unfortunately, had very little released and so there wasn't much I could learn.

I don't want to go too much into specifics as I want this to be a pleasan suprise when I'm done but, I'm in search of an early draft of the script. Lets just say that I'm piecing together how certain scenes were meant near the end (hint hint) so if anyone knows where I can find a script that would have this sequence as it was originally edited, I would be much abliged. I've been able to find a couple, but I can't find one that has the original sequence.

Of course, once I am finished, this will be posted on YouTube for all to see.

Thanks again for any help and great to be here!
