Then 005 had colour ideas

I'm all for this. I like the scroll being yellow, blue or red. When I think of ROTJ, I think of green more than red though, but red works too. Adywan I beg you, please get rid of the movie title numbers. I don't want the OT associated with those pieces of crap. I wanted this done, but I never thought it had a chance of happening since Adywan said he wasn't going back to ANH.

I like the idea of the title logos appearing instead of text too.

I'm going to come right out and say it: you're not right. I'm sorry. I'm glad you're posting this stuff here, because Ady doesn't need to be your Google or Wikipedia. He has other things to do. For giving him a hard time for not working fast enough, you're certainly jumping up and down trying to get his attention a lot.

What difference do file types make? Why ask Ady what Wikipedia can easily answer? Of course there can be money in apps if they fill a need. Why would Ady need to make a bookmark app as bookmarks are free? He has better things to do, frankly.

I like his input he has on things.

Here's another private message to Adywan I would like to hear your guy's input on:

About image files, I took a screen image snapshot (using the PrtScnSysRq key) and tested different file formats on it to see the sizes different formats save it into. I found the 24-bit Bitmap (5.93MB) is the file format that saves the images in the largest file size by far which I am assuming is the highest quality? I noticed 256 color Bitmap (1.97MB) saves the image in the second largest file size, followed very closely by TIF (1.93MB), which is the format of the images above. But they are smaller when saving from a 24-bit Bitmap image to a TIF image (793KB). But 256 color Bitmap looks much worse quality than TIF? Fourth is PNG format (1.23MB). 16 color Bitmap is the fifth largest size (930KB) and then GIF (265KB), JPEG (264KB), Monochrome (253KB), all pretty much save in the same size. I used the exact same image to compare all of these file formats saving the screen snapshot separately every time and not saved over the previous file format. Does this sound right to you? What are these different file formats used for? I know GIF can be used to make low res moving images in clips like 24 frames long. How do you make those? I am assuming you capture a short video clip and then convert it to GIF format? Can you do that with any other file format? What is the PNG file format? I rarely see that format used. JPEG is by far the most popular, but I don't like it because it compresses the image and continues every time you re-save it. I like 24-bit Bitmap because I assume it compresses the least or maybe none at all? But 24-bit Bitmap, TIF, PNG, and JPEG all pretty much look the same I think.

I don't you think understood me. This is meant as both a PM to Adywan and open discussion. Adywan said with the internet plan he has, it is cheaper for him to check his messages here than though email. He told me though that it is even cheaper for him to check PMs. He hasn't returned this one yet. I wanted to here your guy's opinion on these questions, but you won't cooperate with me. I have explained this thoroughly 3 times now and you still don't get it. I am not explaining a fourth time.

Let me try to explain it to you. Nobody needs the internal logic or authorial intent of the OP explained to them; we all get what you're asking. What we don't get is (a) why you felt it necessary to ask something like this to the community at large in the first place, and (b) why you failed to take into account the fact that this isn't really the appropriate place to post something like this.

Capiche?

LOL, am I suppose to feel threatened? I posted this here because (if you have read http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Guidelines-for-Post-Content-and-General-Behavior-Or-How-Not-To-Get-Banned/forum/6/topic/12074/ Jay says:

These rules apply to all forums except Off Topic. Basically, if you want to act like a moron, do it in Off Topic. I don't care what happens in there and most complaints logged against moronathons in Off Topic will be ignored.

For all other forums, these rules will be enforced strictly. You get one warning, then a temporary ban, followed by a permanent ban.

So I wasn't sure this would fly in the Star Wars Fan Edit Forum so I posted it here.

Ghostbusters, I just read your OP again.  If I were adywan, I would consider getting a restraining order against you.

You're joking right? Me and Adywan are good friends? Right Adywan?

Not funny. Since this was such a successful thread, I think I will make another thread exposing even more of Adywan's private messages, this time it gets interesting! ;-)

With all due respect, are you on drugs?

Enough with the mumbo jumbo, lets get down to business. What do you guys think of ocpmovie's Deleted Magic Revisited? Is the bonus material worth downloading again? I know that this isn't related to Adywan's Revisited projects, but it has the word "Revisited" in it so that's close enough in my books. The question about the alterations of framing in the PT and ROTJ are still pending.

Um, did you mean to send a private message to Ady?  This looks like a PM to me.

If you did not, in fact, post a PM to the Off Topic forum by mistake, and you actually meant for this to be a forum post ... why?

Since you didn't seem to get it the first time, I'm quoting myself, AND adding this:

This type of topic is not acceptable.  It is the type of thing that PRIVATE MESSAGES are there for.  Please PM Adywan instead of making a wholly unnecessary thread that he probably won't respond to on principle next time.

What is so "unacceptable" about it? This can be interpreted as a private message to Adywan or a thread. It is both a private message and open discussion. I would like to hear your guy's opinion on the private message I guess you could say. Would you like it better if Adywan made it? I'm changing my avatar to Adywan's so it looks like he made it.

Do you think this should be added to the classic LOL moments in OT history, TV Frink?

George Lucas on Special effects and filmaking during making of ROTJ
Time

skyjedi2005 said:

It is from The John Philip Peacher book, and seems to almost be about the prequels its quite bizarre.  Reminds me of the star wars to Jedi quote " a special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing".

"Special effects don't make the movie, and they are only important to tell the story and to give the characters credibility"

"if the Characters are not there or the acting isn't good, the movie will fall apart. It can't sustain itself. People think these are special effects movies. I would say the effects contribute  15 to 20 percent to the enjoyability, effectiveness, and popularity of the movie- At the most. Even in Star Wars

" If you start developing computerized backgrounds , hopefully that will be a way to bring down the cost. But in reality, if things are done right the films won't look any different than they do today. With these systems available, there will be a lot of filmakers moving in. You'll have tiny figures walking around in giant beautiful sets , which will be boring; the films will be a failure , and everybody will say 'Computer movies are not commercial'.

" The whole thing relies on the actors. I would say the acting and story are at least 75 percent of the film.  Just that.  If you can't get that 75 percent , if you don't have good performances and a good plot, you will never get the film to run on the 25 percent that is left. No matter how brilliant a director you are, how fantastic the special, effects, how beautifully it is photographed, how wonderful the music is, it will not work as a popular movie running at 25 percent."

This shows that George Lucas was once a genius. Now he is one of those type of guys that works in IT and tries to act hip to his kids but fails miserably and spoilers his daughter with too many things she wants.

Off Topic Discussion About Adywan's Revisited Projects

I don't know if this thread is OK with the moderators, but Adywan said he doesn't want to make a ROTJ Revisited Thread or a PT Revisited Thread until he works on them. I know there is a ESB and ROTJ Wishlist Thread, but this question applies more to the PT Revisited. This was originally an email, but Adywan said it is cheaper for him to check messages on here instead of through email:

Adywan, so you plan on doing the PT in 720p so you can alter position of the framing and maybe do some subtle panning and zooming in and out? Did you have anything particular in mind for that? I don't know if the PT has a framing problem, I think some scenes could be improved by having closer viewing of the actors and maybe changing the framing, but I can't think of anything in particular. Do you have anything in mind yet? Your computer will need to handle 1080p video if you do that because you will need to work with the whole picture. You should probably do the framing work first before color correcting and everything else so you can do the rendering in 720p instead of 1080p. Did you consider doing that with ROTJ? I don't think ROTJ has framing problems, do you think it has problems? Maybe you should consider working with ROTJ in 1080p in case you decide to change framing, because once it is in 720, you can't go back and change that unless you start all over.

I know you despise OCPMovie, but did you see his Deleted Magic: Revisited? Was that just a gimmick or did he really add more to it that is worth downloading again?

I also "designed" this logo a couple years ago already.  Feel free to use it as well.

Awesome

Adywan, will you use this as your logo for ESB Revisited cover and DVD label? I like the old school logos a lot better than Lucasfilm's new logo where it has the Roman Numeral episode number behind the title written out in text.
