I mean, he asked for his shuttle to be brought, and they brought it.
I mean, he asked for his shuttle to be brought, and they brought it.
Just a little update here, I know I’ve been kinda radio silent and I’m sorry about that. The ROTS edit is done except for Anakin killing Shaak-Ti bit, which thankfully TheAlaskanSandman has agreed to polish the VFX for. He did say it’d take awhile though (which I completely understand as he’s doing his own amazing edits), so I may release a version with the lower quality that was uploaded on YouTube that I was originally intending on using (this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWygeVBsr_Y) until he’s able to do it. I’ve also been having a bit of a problem with my editor (VideoPad Editor), for some reason it doesn’t want to load some of the audio which is a pain but I should be able to figure it out.
I’ve also decided I’m not doing the added scene for my ANH edit of Vader ordering the Lars murders, as it would ruin the surprise and shock of seeing the Lars’ burned corpses and it would’ve relied too much on reusing footage from ESB.
In the meantime I thought I’d maybe share a screenshot for an addition for my ESB fan-edit. Adywan brought back Vader’s original line “Bring my Shuttle” and removed all of the added SE stuff in which we see Vader fly to his shuttle for ESB:R (which I’m using as the base for mine), which is great, and I totally agree that was an unnecessary SE change. However I’ve always really liked that one added wide shot of Vader walking to his shuttle. I think this added shot is gorgeous. So what I’ve done is that Vader still says “Bring my Shuttle”, and the score and pacing is all the same, but I adjusted the shot of Vader walking so he rounds the corner earlier, and I’ve added back in this shot, color corrected to match Ady’s other Cloud City exteriors. I think it looks quite nice.
Thoughts?
I believe Ady’s aiming for a simultaneous release.
giggity.
Oof, probably going to be a longer wait for ANH:R HD then.
It’s fine though, I’m still excited.
This may be a stupid question but which one will be first released, this or the HD version of ANH:R?
I just want to ignore Ashsoka’s existence and the resurrection of Maul, because both feel incongruous with the films. But the Filoni-verse keeps over spilling. I don’t want to see Maul in the Kenobi show for crap’s sake!
I can understand Ahsoka but bringing back Maul was amazing, they made him into such a good character. Still respect you tho.
Also, she should’ve died on Malachor. Her existing past RotJ as Ahsoka the White feels contrived and fanservicey.
I do agree with this. Vader killing her is powerful and they never should’ve taken that away.
You mean in the Alderaan scene?
I changed the “wall” color a little bit. In the first edit I turned Naboo into Alderaan (even in the prequels, and for Alderaan explosion I added a shot of Naboo), but for this V2 I’ll go back to having two different planets.
Nontheless I think I’ll re-add the short shots from the documentary to make the explosion more dramatic. Also, if possible, I’ll take the Alderaan shot from Episode III and work on it to make it look like it’s going to blow up.EDIT: Anyway as soon as I finish the scene I’ll upload it. Not now, my little dog is probably going to… you know, pass on to a better life.
Yes I did mean the Alderaan scene. That sounds great, I can’t wait to see it!
I’m so sorry to hear that, I recently had my pet baby corn snake randomly die, and my oldest dog died on Easter, so I know the feel. Take your time to grieve bro.
This may be a stupid question but will these be higher quality then those used in Hal9000’s edits?
Are you changing anything else from the original edit besides Tarkin’s uniform?
Color correction work is great!
I’d really love to see your new Alderaan destruction, but it seems both videos you’ve shared of it have been deleted. Would you be willing to share a new one, or rather DM me the link to the edit? Thanks 😃
Me too?
Is there anywhere I can find the first 13 minutes of the HD version that was posted a few months back but got taken down? Did anybody happen to download it or anything? I really want to see it.
Darth Vader’s Redemption from Return of the Jedi. While ROTJ is my third favorite Star Wars movie (behind Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith), this is my favorite singular scene. Everything on the second Death Star in this film is great, but this scene is especially perfect. The acting is phenomenal, the effects are excellent, and the music is riveting. Even though he’s wearing a mask, you can see the conflict within Vader, thanks to the brilliant camera work and David Prowse’s performance. You know exactly what he’s thinking. Mark Hamil’s performance is also great. Remember, the lightning was added in post, so on set he had to act like he was being electrocuted and it’s so convincing. The way he begs his father to help him is heart wrenching. Ian McDiarmid nails being a threatening, heartless villain who enjoys torturing Luke. When Anakin finally returns and picks up the Emperor, it’s so epic and triumphant. And finally, the bit at the end when Luke crawls over to his father to comfort him is touching. Very powerful scene. No matter how many times I watch it, it’s always just as poignant.
On second thought I think I’m going to give up on modifying Alderaan and just use the SE footage.
Awww man, I really liked your idea.
I would’ve really liked if you had kept the “You still have much to learn, that’ll never hold” “Ok, I still have much to learn, let’s go” thing in the whole edit, I really love that exchange. You could’ve just cut the shot in space with unfinished CG and I think it would’ve worked fine.
I’ve decided on what to do with Padme’s death. Obi-Wan’s “She’s dying?!” will be moved to before the droid speaks, and after that is the Labyrinth of Evil version of the droid’s diagnosis in which he says “She has sustained severe injuries, we have no idea how long she will last. We are preparing to deliver the babies”. Padme still dies, as I think this is an important part of Vader’s complete turn to the dark side. IMO if Padme survived I think she would’ve tried to turn Anakin back to the light. But this way she dies due to the combination of the force choke, childbirth, and the emotional stress of losing everything she had fought for her whole life, rather then just saying “She doesn’t have any injuries, but she’s lost the will to live.”
Is there anybody who would be able to help out with something in the VFX arena? Someone did a redo of the scene of Anakin killing Shaak-Ti (which I’m using to replace the youngling scene) in which they added the lightsaber burn mark and enhanced the saber effects, but unfortunately the quality is very low. Thankfully Bobson Dugnutt has done an HD version of the scene, but with no enhanced effects. Would someone be able to do something like this for me with Dugnutt’s HD version?

Why do people get so upset about the droids feeling pain in that scene? C-3PO clearly feels pain in ESB when Chewie doesn’t duck low enough when entering the Falcon during the escape from Cloud City, and R2-D2 screams when zapped by the Jaws in ANH.

at 12.23 min “This Sith lord sent by the Emperor will be our undoing”
Really wish Adywan would add this line back in. The Sith aren’t mentioned till the prequels, so itd be nice to hear of the Sith (and more of the Emperor) in ANH
Holy shit, this line is amazing, I definitely want to add it to my edit.
There you go everyone, absolute proof that Darth Vader is and always was a Sith and the Sith always existed in Star Wars.
Update on this. I know for sure that I’m actually going to do these edits, and I also know that I am going to do the edit that combines The Return of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. Biollante (and as events happening at the same time, rather then TROG being a prologue), though I’m also planning on making separate fan-edits for both (in which TROG and GVB are separate films). I have even already started working on my GVMGII edit a little bit, doing the color correction work and editing the Godzilla vs. Rodan fight.
Here are changes that are going to be made to all 7 films.
-All films are given a completely new color grade, adjusted to my liking. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II especially, as the Japanese Blu-Ray looks very dull and washed out, worse than the Japanese DVD (proving it’s not a problem with the film itself, but the Blu-Ray transfer). The film seems to have a gray filter applied to the whole thing. In fact I’d even say both TriStar transfers are better, even the DVD one. The whole film will look much brighter and more appealing.
-Brand new subtitles for Japanese dialogue. I know this may cause controversy, but my goal here will not to create the most accurate translations, rather have the dialogue be as good as possible. I will use lines from the fandubs included with Gorizard’s uploads of the Japanese versions on archive.org and lines from the dubtitles interchangeably to my liking, and sometimes I will even change the line myself simply to make it better. I apologize if this offends anyone who thinks it’s offensive to straight up change some dialogue, but I thought it would really benefit these edits to take complete advantage of the situation and have free reign to adjust the dialogue in any way I please, to make it all good (not that the dialogue was particularly bad in the Heisei series overall or anything, but there are still some clunkers and this does still give me free reign to do things like explain the time travel plot in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah better).
-All English in the film will be replaced with the English dubbed version. The dubs just generally have better performances when it comes to the non-Japanese speaking roles throughout the films, look no further then Dr. Asimov from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. Honestly I think the guy who did the dub for him did a really good job. Mileage does vary depending on the instance but in any case the dub is still better.
-Any instance in which a monster has its mouth open but there’s no roar sound effect to accompany it will either chopped, trimmed, or has a sound effect added to it. This actually happens a LOT in every Toho Godzilla movie. This gives me a nice opportunity to add some awesome Millennium Godzilla grunt and growl sound effects, which I think would still fit and make him sound even more ferocious.
I may post the first scene of this series soon, the fight between Godzilla and Rodan in GVMGII, which has gotta be one of my all-time favorite fights of the series due to how brutal it is, but this will showcase my color correction work and I still feel it needed some trims and more sound effects.

Part of me wishes some of the deleted scenes were cleaned up and worked into the movies. I know the movie would have to be recut due to pacing, but some of the scenes were cool. Like Luke making his green saber.
I second this.
Seeing how well done your prequel edits are, have you considered doing your own OT revisited edits?
When Han says “This is where the fun begins” in A New Hope, Obi-Wan has a long drawn-out PTSD flashback because Anakin also said it in Revenge of the Sith.
Retconning Padmé’s niece to be Leia would be cool but it’d feel strange ending the movie with a somewhat grown-up Leia but then showing an infant Luke.
Very good point I overlooked. Maybe I’d have to move Luke and Leia’s fates to before the scene with Vader on the Star Destroyer, and that’s what ends the film?
Not sure how one would move the funeral to a few years later, but if…
If what? I’m interested in hearing your idea if you have one.
I actually just got an idea regarding the ending of my Revenge of the Sith edit: what if Padme initially survives, but then we do a flash forward, say, 2 or 3 years, after which it shows Padme’s funeral and the rest of the scenes after that. That way I get to keep the awesome transition between Padme’s funeral and the scene with Vader on the Star Destroyer, the Death Star has had more time to be partially completed, and Leia had some time with her mother so she could remember her.
What do you guys think? Just an idea as of now.
I really would like to apologize for the wait on the Revenge of the Sith edit. But the reason why is because ROTS is my second favorite Star Wars movie (only behind ESB) so I want to make absolute certain I’m doing it justice, and I’ve also had other stuff going on in the meantime. I’ve had multiple debates with myself about keeping or removing certain things in certain places. The Google Doc is still up-to-date with my current plans though.
I’ve become a little conflicted with my edit of Padme’s death though, as while I still really like the idea of Palpatine killing Padme, I’ve kinda started to dislike the idea of Vader needing help in order to stay alive (beyond the suit), I think him being able to stay alive himself throughout that whole ordeal really showcased just how strong he was in the force (which is fitting with the new canon comics which show him to be the most powerful Sith in the galaxy). Also the fact that Vader’s suit essentially has an iron lung that breathes for him may make the way I have it edited right now not make sense. Maybe I can see if I can edit it some way so he kills her, but Vader isn’t dying.
I’ve also been considering making an additional version of my ROTS edit, an extended edition that includes The Siege of Mandalore for people who want to watch it as an ending to The Clone Wars series.
And finally after my ROTS edit is done I do plan on going back to my Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones edits to fix up some minor editing errors I’ve noticed that bug me (like for one thing I’ve noticed that for some reason the highest quality my TPM edit is available in on Google Drive is 720p, which is weird, since I’m sure I exported it in 1080p) and possibly implement some new ideas.
May I have the link please?
