I've never met the man, but remember that John Glenn, in his 80s, made a trip on the shuttle.
I'm sure he's in good shape, but how good a shape can you be in at that age?

Price will go down as more ships are created and more flights are made.

Well, of course, John Glenn was already an astronaut and had already been in space several decades ago, so he's not like a space tourist.

You seem to be assuming that the Godric Gryffindor sword theory is based around it becoming a Horcrux through Harry's encounter with Tom Riddle in The Chamber of Secrets. I think that's too large an assumption. Besides, that would be requiring one horcrux to make another horcrux, and I don't know if that's even possible.

And about things being too obvious... well, you have to think that Rowling came up with these ideas over a decade ago, long before she had fans who could figure out what was going to happen. But people have been analyzing these things for so long that they're bound to eventually stumble onto a real idea. Think how many people guessed that Dumbledore was going to die in Book 6.

If RAB is Regulus Black, then he won't be able to get the other horcruxes in book 7. He's dead.

I seriously think that the final book will take place almost immediately after the end of the previous book (i.e. June or July 1997) for two reasons.

1. It will be kind of hard to call Book 7 "Year 7" if it takes place in some other time frame.
2. Since Harry said he was only going to stop by the Dursley's just for one last recharge of his love protection and then immediately start on his quest, it seems like extremely important parts of the story would be lost if we skipped a year or two years or whenever after Dumbledore died.

I totally agree. I saw it twice, and the second time was very disappointing because I started picking out all the things that were wrong with it. Now, since that's the most recent viewing I've had of it, that's what sticks in my mind, rather than the first time I saw it when I actually enjoyed it.

You have a good point on the Harry/Horcrux theory, possibly enough to nullify it, which I don't mind because I didn't like it too much to begin with, even though I did post it. It's an interesting little paradox, though, that would drive Voldemort crazy. What helps sustain Voldemort's life is the same boy that he must kill, according to the prophecy, in order to survive. Ooh! I like that! But just remember that Voldemort did want to divide his soul into seven pieces, and we already know that destroying individual ones will not finish him off, so maybe he'd be willing to kill Harry and destroy that part of his soul if the rest of him would be intact.

I was really disappointed with the role Wormtail played in this new book. It was almost like a cameo appearance... like Elizabeth Hurley in The Spy Who Shagged Me, if you will. He appears for ten seconds as Snape's little bitch and then disappears again never to enter into the story again. Rather like dangling the old carrot in front of the string if you ask me. But Rowling has always been good with that, and this is one of the least clothes-tearing juicy (^_^) examples.

And I usually don't pick on your Shimraanese, but I took particular delight in "Cumbledore." If they ever make a porn based on Harry Potter, that name has to be in there!

Well, explanations that occur before the movie hold 1. if you disavow the story of the prequels (not that I'm saying I do... entirely) or 2. the answer is left ambiguous. I've never read the novel, so I can't be entirely sure of it, but I don't think it ever came out and said that that's what happened to his face. But starwars.com (sad, but, yes, it is the official site) always said that his face was disfigured by using the dark side of the force. And the fact that he didn't say something about it to Anakin right after it happened kind of works in favor of him being injured. Think about it. If you see someone get stabbed in the arm with a sword and (duh) develop a messy bloody wound, the victim wouldn't say afterwards to the witness, "Well, I got stabbed in the arm with a sword," because it's obvious what happened. See what I'm saying?

I don't know, Hot Rod. I'm prone to believing explanations that have been around longer than the movie, and I've always heard that his manipulation of the dark side manipulated him back. And I think the line, "I can't hold it much longer, I'm too weak," gives away that he's about to get his ass kicked. In a situation like that, I don't think his face lift fading would be the first thing on his mind. Plus, he's trying to get Anakin to step in for him and act bad, and saying that he's about to die would work more effectively than, "I'm not pretty anymore, Anakin! Stop him!"

Nice thoughts, greencapt.

I really think Dumbledore is dead, though. Rowling has practically confirmed it. I don't think she has answered the point-blank question, "Is Dumbledore really dead?" but she did all the talking about how the hero has to stand by himself and have his loved ones, the ones who can protect him, dead. So I think he's, for all practical purposes, dead. I wasn't aware that the Ministry had any more problems with Dumbledore after Order of the Phoenix. All of his status was returned to him at the end of that story, as was his job. I don't recall him having any real problems with the Ministry anymore. That is a cool idea, though, that he might have faked his own death to get away from the beauracracy.

R.A.B...? Yeah, we all know. No point in trying to play us anymore, J.K.

Two parts to Book 7. Eeeeh, I hope not. Besides being a copout and kinda screwing the customers, I think she has everything well enough planned out that this need not be a problem to run into. Still, I can see what you mean about length. Rowling said that Order of the Phoenix was so long because Harry spent so much time away from Hogwarts and having to set all of that up (i.e. St. Mungo's, Ministry of Magic). It seems that he'll spend much more time going to exotic locations in Book 7, having to find Horcruxes and hunting down his enemies like a man possessed. Well, we'll see.

Harry as Horcrux and Dead Harry. Well, still wasn't my idea, but I freaked out when my friend told me, because it really lends itself to the "Harry will die" theory that a lot of my friends seem to cling to. Because if Harry is a horcrux, he'll have to be destroyed to destroy that part of Voldemort's soul. And I'm not really a fan of Harry dying. Call me a sap, but I'm partial to the happy ending. And sure, the world will be happy because we all know Voldemort's going down, but practically every chapter of every book has been from Harry's perspective, and I don't feel like saying goodbye! Dumbledore, I could handle because I predicted it and was therefore happy. But leave Harry alone! He's suffered enough! So I'm just going to stick my fingers over my ears and ignore all these horrible comments in the hope that they'll go away and not be true.

I'm not listening!!!

Director's Cut?

Who would want the theatrical versions of 'Terminator 2' or 'Aliens' on DVD?

Mr Lucas needs room to manouvre. He may have ruled out the original version on DVD; but even the inclusion of "close the blast doors" (stormtroopers pursuing Han Solo) would constitute a director' cut.

I'm not really a fan of either, but why wouldn't someone want the theatrical versions of T2 or Aliens? That's a much more important question, in my opinion.

Gaffer Tape, you do realize how funny your last line is don't you?

Only if you're inferring that I'm referencing 3PO's, "I think I'm melting!" line. If you're trying to say that the Emperor's face always looked like it was melting, well, it was wrinkly, but it had some solidity to it. This one just looks like someone put an action figure in the oven. And if it's neither of those, then I have no idea.

Which DVD Cover is your favorite?

I had to go with A New Hope. I think it was mostly the color combination. To be honest, I really enjoyed all three of the covers of the original trilogy release. The only thing I didn't like about them was the new titles he uses for them. STAR WARS!!!! EPISODE V!!!!...*mumbles*theempirestrikesback*mumbles*. Too bad so many other film series are doing that now, like The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia.

I don't know why, but, for some reason, I don't like it as much as the one for Attack of the Clones or The Phantom Menace. I can't figure out why that is. Maybe it looks a little too empty, but I can't explain why I think that either, since it's really about as filled as the other covers. But I do like the duel pic at the bottom. It looks much more realistic than what actually happened in the movie. The two standing on ground with lava-filled cracks with volcanic explosions in the distance... rather than inches above a lava pit with explosions happening right next to them.
