Watching in order 1-6 is screwing up the original SW for newcomers!

Yes, he was the star. **See ROTJ**

I'm actually in the middle of watching that, and it seems to me it's about the main character trying to convince his father to redeem himself, but maybe that's just me. If Anakin was the star, Retun of the Jedi would be a movie centered around Darth Vader's struggle to decide which way to go, not Luke's struggle to keep from falling to the dark side and fighting his father.

It made me interested in the real star of star wars, Anakin. To me, the older movies don't really tell his story as good as they could have, in my opinion.

The reason the original trilogy doesn't tell Anakin's story as well "as they could have" is because they aren't meant to tell Anakin's story because he's not the "real star of Star Wars." He's the star of the prequels. That's it. The end. I hate this "Anakin is the star" bs propaganda that Lucas is trying to shove down our throats in order to get us to accept the prequel trilogy. *incoherent grumbling*

ROTS Extras: CGI TPM Yoda

But in general, after all that, if they don't go and fix the AotC yoda to look good (or all that CGI while they are on this whole binge) I'l actually be pissed. If unnecissarily fixing yoda is a priority there and not fixing shitty CG from a whole movie slips by them then......goddamn. But is Lucas so....whatever.....I give up.

While I would have put it more eloquently, I agree. The RotS Yoda is nearly flawless, it would be a shame if the AotC Yoda was not updated (as TPM Yoda has been) to that standard.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! Stop encouraging them to change stuff! Especially with the reasoning that it needs to match up with something else! That's when we get into the endless cycle of updating digital effects everytime a new "breakthrough" happens. You update TPM and AOTC, then the one from ROTS is the old one, and it'll need updating. So then that one will look better than the other two, so, whoops, time to update again. Make it stop!

I for one have never thought of the special effects in the original trilogy as "bleak, dull, and colorless." I have never been watching the original Star Wars and thought, "You know, they really need more CG explosions and flying ships right about here." I think it has as many special effects as it needs. I mean, come one! They spend the beginning of the movie in a backwoods desert for crying out loud! And then the second third of the movie is in hallways of a command station. Not really much of a need for visual effects beyond blaster fire and lightsabers, is there? And then there's the Yavin battle with so many optical effects that it made Alec Guiness's head spin. And I assume you're only talking about the first movie as being too sparse as far as special effects because Empire and Return are chock full of them without being overdone. Love to see the prequels attempt that kind of balance.

Well, I have never seen or heard the scream before, but if it's true that's fine. I just don't see the reason why he changed it twice in the Special Edition and in the 2004 Edition. And I agree, it does sound pretty much like the Emperor's scream in ROTJ.

Just curious. If you've never seen or heard the scream before, then how do you know it sounds like the Emperor's scream?

Dishonorable Luke

But I'm just saying that, since Luke already told Jabba that he wanted to bargain, he should have saved the tricks for after that plan didn't work rather than sneak around before Luke had a chance to bargain. And if Leia had been able to get Han out without being caught, would she have gone to the trouble to find the droids? It didn't seem like that was her next step. And if so, would Luke have come the next day and say, "Well... um, Han's gone, huh? Can I have my droids back?"

Dishonorable Luke

Yeah, I was thinking that too, but I decided to wait and post that later since it was secondary to my real question. I know they weren't planning on just leaving the droids behind. It seemed as if force (the physical kind) was intended all along. The whole plan just seems very dishonest and self-deifying. They made themselves look good by pretending to propose a "diplomatic solution" when really they were just disgusing their plan to kill everybody and steal what they needed. Pretty screwed up...

I just noticed something when watching Return of the Jedi last night. Alright, so in the beginning, Luke sends the droids to convey his message to peaceably reason with Jabba in order to save Han Solo. He was announcing his arrival to bargain for Han. He shows good intentions. He's very polite and even gives the droids to Jabba. Obviously, the plan was to get rough if Jabba refused to return Han to them, but wasn't it a bit stupid to send Leia in there to steal Han before he even gets there? Wouldn't that destroy every single shred of credibility he was trying to build up?

Ghostbusters 3
Time
I loved both of them. My only problem with the second one was that it seemed to be a verbatim rehash of the first movie.

Down on their luck, big ghost incident happens, success, musical montage, living the high life, villian takes hold, Ghostbusters incarcerated, panic ensues, Ghostbusters released, saved the day, covered in a sticky substance, Peter and Dana make out.

But I still enjoy them, so it's more of an observation than a complaint.

Prequel total rewrites...?

besides, if you have anakin saying that he wants his son to have this when hes old enough and you have ben saying to luke that your father wanted you to hae this when you were old enough, you tip the audience off as to vader being lukes father. Thus ruining the surprise of vader himself telling luke he is his father. I can't see any way of doing the prequels without ruining that surprise in ESB. The only answer is don't even do the prequels at all

No, the best way to keep the surprises is not to watch the prequels first. That's what they are: prequels. Backstory. Explains what you just saw. Problem solved.

My very strong condolences on the loss of your uncle, ric.

I've often wondered myself how people can possibly do such horrible things to each other. There are just a lot of sick people out there, so much in tune with looking out for #1 and giving into their own selfish desires that they pay no attention to the ramifications of other people. Let me see if I can explain this right. It's really hard to keep from falling into the trap of thinking, "I'm me, and the other people around me are just other people." It's easy to think this subconsciously since being you is the only thing you know how to do. And it's easy to forget that the person standing next to you has the same types of feelings and emotions that you do, and that he is the "me" of his own world. Even so (if that made any sense to anybody), I don't see how anyone could get disconnected with other people to the point where they could perform such sick acts. The only explanation is that they simply choose to block out everyone but themselves as deserving of compassion and possessive of feeling.

In answer to your question, though, I don't think most people are near that point where they simply choose to cut people off so much that they feel no remorse when they perform such grotesque acts. At least, I'd like to hope so...

I'd just like to close by reminding everyone to remember that you're not the only "me" in the world. Everyone is the center of his/her own universe, and through that person's eyes, you aren't the center. You could be just another person. Try to think of things through other people's perspectives, not just through your own universe.

cool i want that Dogabah sense put in cuz other wise it makes no sense why yoda just is all the sudden is there lol. and yes with HD discs that are duble layered they hold up to 4 hours of HD video along with 9 hours of bonues not HD space. and with single layers it 2 hours of HD and 4.5 hours of non HD along with it

Bah! It needs to stay a deleted scene like it is right now. For once he didn't tinker with the movie for its DVD release, and I'm happy about that. I'm very much satisfied with, "Into exile I must go." We can just leave it at that. Don't need to show every single thing. It's not as though Dagobah is that interesting-looking a place.
