Post count: soon to be made irrelevant.

Well, first of all, I don't see why quality posts necessarily have to be long. But then again, we're getting into the arbitrary area of what would be considered a quality post. But while I've never quite taken stock myself in how many posts I can post in an hour, I think it is very much possible. You could have something to say in several different threads in once, or you could get locked in a debate on one topic with several other members of the forum. I wouldn't think it was fair if I was in mid-debate with someone over a point, and I'm just dying to respond to something I've disagreed with only to have the forum tell me I'm not allowed to post it for another 35 minutes. Of course, by that time you're out of the loop.

Are the firefly DVDs missing something?
Time
Well, that's probably because so few people saw it on TV. I actually was a bit perturbed when I saw on the special features that they had replaced the TV airing version of the scene from Objects in Space with a different version, but I got over it since that was the original version of the scene used on the DVD, and it was changed for the TV version. I am a bit disappointed that the recaps and narration aren't there, and a confused as to why they'd change the font at the end. But I doubt anyone would be with me to start a backlash, and it does seem a bit extreme (although I'm slightly disappointed finding all this out), so maybe I'll just let it go.

Yeah, Gundark, I believe I said that earlier in the thread. I'm not quite sure who you were targeting with that idiots remark, but it did seem a little unnecessarily hostile. I'd still liked to have seen the previews, etc. on the DVDs.

So how come AWK hasn't assumed his position on the top 10? Is the "Today" screen only updated once a day in terms of the top ten? Or has Jay instituted an anti-AWK filter (which would seem a bit complicated to me)? Or does one have to go through a series of trials before earning their spot in the top ten?

Yeah, but "Warble" had better put his rear in gear because Adam has about ten posts to go until he's on the top ten.

And, no, Return of the Jedi Leia wasn't enough if we could have gotten more. Maybe if Lando had fixed her up in some kind of S&M outfit when he gave her clothes in Cloud City. =P

Okay, I'll stop now.

Inserting deleted scene of Yoda's exile into ANH??

I really don't see why some people view the change from Anakin to Vader so frickin' literally! He didn't literally become a new person. The old Anakin didn't literally die. That'd be like me saying I became Jay. I died, but I became Jay, so it's all cool. Is it so hard to think metaphorically?! He's literally the same person. He's just a changed person who disassociated himself with they way he was previoiusly. It's just like when an adult male looks back on some of the crazy things he did as a teenager, and he goes, "Wow, that was really stupid." He's not that same crazy teen, but it's not like he's suddenly gotten a new body and soul.

Come on, metaphor. Some people really need to look into it, especially George. Except that I don't believe George changed the ghost to Hayden because he actually believed Anakin and Vader were two separate human beings. He just did it to create that forced continuity that some people just gobble up.

Hell, yeah. Like if the Death Star gave out standard-issue negligees to all its prisoners, so when we see Leia in action, she's....

Wait. Did I just say that out loud?

OK, I just "acquired" the original version of the first episode FOX aired episode (The Train Job) with the opening narration. It has Shephard Book explaining the basic premise of the show, with clips from the Serenity pilot. I can definately see Joss' logic in removing it, since he reallizes (unlike FOX) that his audience are much smarter than that, and can figure these things out on their own.

Well, of course, you have to understand that the audience had never seen Serenity, so the introduction makes perfect sense in that context. But, once again, that's Fox's fault for not airing it. But where did you find that? I'd love to see it!

And, sorry for not giving credit where credit is due. Thank you, ReverendBeastly.

That's exactly the problem, though. It's not "a trilogy" anymore. It's parts 4, 5, and 6 of a complete saga. Yoda is not introduced in ESB, he's introduced in TPM. Because of that, having him in ANH actually makes more sense, as it would let you know that yes, after 20 years, the old jedi is still around.

But even if you view them as a complete saga, and this is something that that marioxb, or whatever his name is, brought up, wouldn't you want the "surprise" of if he is around preserved? And if you have a movie where he doesn't appear, doesn't that make you wonder more, "What happened to Yoda? Is he okay?" Plus, like I've said before, he has no role in the original Star Wars. What would you have him do? Have Luke, etc. wandering around the Death Star, and then cut to a little musical number with Yoda on Dagobah, singing, "Stayin' Alive" just so you know that he's... alive?

Yeah, they could be. That's why they're jokes. The fact that some people actually believe it does get a bit annoying, even though it's true to an extent. But if they're just jokes... hell, that's Jeff Foxworthy's career right there! And like I said in my original post, I'm Polish, and I love Polish jokes.
