The saddest thing ever - WOW Radio!!
Time
I never clicked this thread until just now because the title didn't really interest me that much. I didn't even catch on (stupid me) that WOW was World of Warcraft. But I saw how much traffic this was getting, and I was bored, so I stepped in and read this and had a really great time doing so. Quite funny. Alriiight! *cracks knuckles* Time for me to butt in to this conflict and attempt to play mediator. Since this is the Internet, nobody can shut me up! ^_~

I really don't see why anybody's getting all worked up. Maybe insulting someone's hard work could be considered a low blow, but you have to expect that anytime you publicly expose a good or service available to the general public. Some people are going to like it, some people are going to hate it, some people are going to make fun of it. That's simply the way it goes, and you're going to have to learn to develop a thicker skin if you plan to stay in the radio business.

That said, I really don't think HotRod was really wailing on World of Warcraft to begin with. Face it. You guys are nerds. You're geeks. You're dorks. World of Warcraft is a nerdy, geeky, dorky hobby. People who post on Star Wars message boards are nerds. They are geeks. They are dorks. We are nerds, geeks, and dorks. While some might take offense to that, I find it a banner I am very proud to fly. Yet I am aware of how the mainstream might see me, and I'm all into that, too. I'm aware I'm a geek, and I can make fun of myself. I can make fun of Star Wars, Firefly, Star Trek, Zelda, and all the fandoms and fans associated with it. It's par for the course for others to make fun of such a hobby, but it takes a bigger person to laugh at himself. Hell, you should be relieved that it's other dorks, who can relate to you, who are taking pot shots at you, rather than the "mainstream world" who may or may not just be having some fun.

So please take my words to heart and learn to have more fun with yourselves. But if you're just continuing to post here and keep this thread going simply to generate more free advertisements for yourselves, then I would suggest you quit it.

EDIT: "You guys are like the bloody nerd gestapo of the internet. Poor HotRod has been charged with thought crime for speaking out against the Nerd Party." By the way, I laughed my ass off at this! Thanks, C3PX!

I'm pretty much saying the same thing you are. Wind Waker's graphics turned me off to the game, and it's what caused me to get a PS2 instead of a GameCube. Then, when I learned more about it, Wind Waker ended up being what convinced me to get a GameCube. I don't think it's the best Zelda ever, but it certainly is great. And I actually disagree with the complaints that the sailing is monotonous. I suppose it gets tiring after a while, but I actually loved it. Traveling for several minutes at a time in between locations made the world feel really big for the first time. Rather than OoT's miniscule Hyrule Field, I actually felt like I was on a real journey. I haven't explored all of Twilight Princess yet, but it's starting to give me that feeling, too. It may not be nearly as big as Wind Waker's world, but it's able to give a similar feeling with actual land rather than just endless identical water.

Twilight Princess is causing a backlash with fans? Tell me more about this, because I haven't heard any fans complain about it. What do they think is wrong with it? And I thought Wind Waker's early leaks caused fan backlash.

I'm not sure how you're saying it doesn't feel like Zelda. Most reviews I've read complain it's too much like Ocarina of Time! But I think TP is the first 3-D Zelda game to really look epic rather than just try to look epic.

That's not what you said before.

When have I ever said I'm a girl?

I think it was in a discussion with Mielr. When she said she was a girl. Or is she a boy too?

No, Mielr is a girl. But I think you have me confused with skye_solo, the only other active forum member who uses this avatar.

Still, that's one of the most exciting and scariest elements of the movie to me. You've spent so long with them just trying to get by, just surviving, and then suddenly, you see them thrust into matters of importance that they really have no business getting into with greater risk than anything in the series, but they don't really have a choice. And I really enjoyed seeing everything go to hell. It was almost Empirestrikesbackian!

I totally agree with C3PX. The River on the cover of the movie, while not only being far too prominent when Mal is the main character, looks nothing like her. They went really heavy on the eye makeup while the "real" River has a much more natural look (thank goodness). It seems they were just trying to sell sexy.

And, yeah, as I've said before, Firefly is a great show. I disagree that the western motif was overused. I thought it was great, and I was disappointed that Serenity was overpowered with sci-fi without enough western to balance it out.

Anywhere to keep up on news, or gossip about the archival editions coming?
Time
Yeah, Randy, you cleverly sidestepped the initial question. Let's say just your opinion. Which Cloud City fall is the "correct" version, and why would it change from version to version?

Back to the topic, as far as I know, Rick never said the Yoda landing on Dagobah scene would be included in any future release. He said that he wanted it in the theatrical cut of the movie, but George said no. And he said that he thought it would be great if George would add it in for some future home release. Unless there's any quote beyond what he said on the ROTS DVD, then you're reading a bit too much into what he said. Based on what Rick did say there, and assuming nothing has changed, George has no interest in putting that scene in the movie at all, which is a decision I am actually pleased with.

This is supposed to be a freaking Naked Parties thread. Why are you guys discussing politics?

No idea. I guess one politics thread is just not enough

Now that I've read the entire thread, are we going to do that naked body scan thing? Are we waiting for Gaffer Tape to post the first pic?

Edit: What happened to the hot.like.C3PX thread? I can't find it.

Only if you want that sausage fest to start. As most people here know, I am male.

what if sw ended?
Time
It depends on what you're asking. If you're asking if I'll ever simply "end" my fandom, then no, never. My interest will always wax and wane, but I will always come back to it periodically like I always have. And I don't plan to leave these boards anytime soon. But if you mean end like stop having new SW material, then I'm all for that! It's gone on for far too long and just needs to be put to rest with what little dignity it has left or, as Cable says, it will become like Trek, with all kinds of barely related spinoffs that have nothing to do with the original story.

Geez, with a $600 price tag, Sony is still taking a loss in console sales? How much money would they have to charge for systems to break even on hardware?

And that reminds me of a situation in Twilight Princess. It might even be Nintendo's in-joke to companies taking a hit for the hardware. The lantern salesman in the game gives you a lantern for free, admitting that he takes a loss on the lanterns because the profit is in selling oil refills for it!

why does vader say obi wan has trained u well ?
Time
And even if he did know that Yoda was alive, he wouldn't have known that Yoda trained Luke. He only ever saw Luke and Obi-Wan in the same traveling party together. I don't necessarily see this as a fault on the PT's part, but I always imagined it that Anakin and Yoda didn't have much of a relationship, as in they weren't really involved with each other all that much at all, but Yoda was moved to the forefront of all Jedi business in the PT, so, whatever...
