I think putting an animal life at a higher value than a whole family of humans is pretty ignorant and uneducated, but hey, that is just me.

How so? I believe life is life, and all should be treated equal. We need to share the planet, and not own it.

Man, everybody's saying the best stuff before I get a chance to, so all I get to say is, "I agree."

I suppose this is just me coming from my circumcised perspective, but I never saw an uncircumcised penis until a few months ago when I got curious about circumcision and looked it up on wikipedia. And, honestly, I just think it looks weird. I'm a bit biased, obviously, but, in lieu of this topic popping up, I went back to wikipedia, and there was a picture of a foreskin that completely covered the glans, and I swear it looked like Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors!

I'm sorry. That probably came off as derogatory to those with intact penises, and I'm sure if I had missed the infant circumcision thing, I probably wouldn't get it done now because just reading about circumcision gives the willies. But from my bias, it just looks weird to me.

I'm thinking stock in Trim-Spa just went down...it sucks for her new daughter, though...

While I quite agree that she "had train wreck written all over her", it just seems to me like one of those things that doesn't happen. It'd be like Paris Hilton kicking it while being forced to clean a toilet on The Simple Life. The world isn't that lucky, right? ^_~

In America it is common practice to circumcise our sons, but why? You all say you are circumcised and that it doesn't bother you, and it shouldn't. But have you ever wondered why you were circumcised? If you are Jewish or Muslim it is not even an issue, you have your answer, but for the rest of us, why?

Honestly, it's a practice dating back centuries and most kids (who I assume make up the demographic here) born in the 70's and 80's were circumcised.

It wasn't until it became unfashionable with all this pseudo hippy bullshit parenting in the 90's that the practice started being frowned upon. Personally, I'm just glad I don't have to worry about...uh...maintenance.

I agree about the maintenance. At least, that's what I've always assumed is an advantage, but it's not as though I can really make an informed comparison. Growing up, I always knew I was circumcised, and I knew what it was, but I never really thought about it. After all, mine was the only penis I'd seen, so there was no reason for me to think anybody else was any different.

Anyhow, as I was always told, it was my grandfather who convinced my mom to get me circumcised simply because it was what everybody else did, and he didn't want me to be made fun of in the locker room for looking different. As it turns out, I never had any nude locker room experiences in my life, so I guess it was just a waste. ^_~

Well, that and the PT is detrimental to the OT's story if you watch it first. George doesn't know what he's talking about.

Video Games - a general discussion thread

Grr, you ain't just whistlin' Dixie when you say that Zelda II is hard. I still can't beat the second palace. I got the handy glove and have explored every room, but I can't "get there from here" as the saying goes.

And, at this very moment, I have The Legend of Zelda on pause. I'm at Ganon with two hearts, no water of life, and missing the red ring. At least I have the silver arrows, but I'm afraid to unpause the game because of how raped up the ass I feel at the moment. Any tips to miraculously pull through this final battle?

Did Anakin's fall start with Qui-Gon?
Time
Well, if that had been done right in the prequels, it would have worked perfectly. If you remember, most of Obi-Wan's advice and connection to Luke was based off of his mistakes as a young man. But, wait, I forgot, prequel Obi-Wan was perfect in every way and never made a mistake. But, yeah, if there had been a point in the prequels where Obi-Wan had given in to hate and came close to doing something evil, then it would have resonated well with that quote and been a contrast to Anakin, who was also confronted with choices and didn't resist.

great quote on the radio re the changes

Heh, wow, that's great. I remember arguing with a friend's girlfriend a couple of years ago. She said that the special editions were better because Jabba actually looked like Jabba, while, in the original versions, he was just this fat man. I somehow couldn't get it through to her that that scene was never in the original version in the first place. Oh, well.
