I cant hardly watch a movie with long opening credits. Its like the movie HULK the 03 version. Dear lord it took 20 minutes for the credits to stop then it was 2 hours of the worst movie ever made. What a way to milk a sucky movie. I look at star wars as a masterpiece it starts out beautifully then it tells you what happened before the story begins. It is awesome. I even like the ending credits. If star wars started out with opening credits it would take forever to start.

Oh totally, man!  Considering how many people were involved in making the movie (and I remember that Episode III documentary "Within a Minute).  A minute of opening crawl to tell a bit of backstory is better that 20 minutes of screen credits at the beginning.

OT is perfect as is,

I would agree except for ROTJ. Not as good as the previous two.

It probably would have been if Spielberg had gotten to direct it, as was Lucas' first choice.  I blame those vultures at the Director's Guild at the time for trying to pull Empire from the theater and fining Lucas -- and even Kirshner -- for simply having all of the screen credits at the end of the movie.

That's exactly why I made "Vader's Redemption."  As an alternative look at the saga as well as an experiment in film editing.  I perfer ROTJ just the way it is too.  I just assumed that by the title of this forum, "ESB and ROTJ Wishlist," we would all be allowed to express what we would put in if we were making fan edits.

I saw that edit and I think it works in context of viewing the films as a saga. Perfect for a "saga edition". But I wouldn't want to watch it that way all the time. Some times it's nice to just sit back and watch the OT, back when it was Luke's adventure. Before the dark times. Beofre "The story of Star Wars is the tragedy of Darth Vader".

Likewise.  OT is perfect as is, and it's really cool to meet another Luke Skywalker fan.

Dude, don't be so offended at people disagreeing with your suggestions.  Yeah, this thread is certainly for ideas for fan edits, but if you can't take some criticism about them, then don't post them here.  It's not that you're not "allowed" to do something.  Calm down.

And the way you presented the idea made it seem like you wanted to do this just for the ending of ROTJ, not for the whole thing.  I'm not saying your edit is bad by any means - I'm just saying that it wouldn't work in that context.

Dude, I'm not offended.  Everyone has different opinions, and they have the rights to their opinions.  And I can more than handle criticism.

Again, I say, "it was just an experiment in editing."

An idea I'd like to offer for ROTJ:R is Vader having flashbacks during his duel with Luke, just like here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RulmOAeJ4c

No No NO  NO

HORRIBLE idea

the one thing I HATED about RotS was the damn dream sequences'

they were completely out off sync with the rest of the series, & would be one of the first things to go if I had the ability to do an edit.

Hey, I don't bash all over your ideas.  It was just a suggestion.  And those weren't dream sequences in my edit, those were flash backs.

I like the idea, but I have to say I prefer your earlier work on it, specifically http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KLPe_e0ZJA — the quicker edits and shorter flashbacks are much more effective.

Thanks.  I have to point out though that versions 1 and 2 didn't have clean cuts for every shot since they were both made entirely in Windows Movie Maker.  Versions 3 and 4 were made in Adobe Premier Pro.

I d love to keep the lasers that the TIES firing at MF at the asteroid chase( adds more color to the scene)

I was surprised at that too. Hope it makes it into the final cut, as I was really impressed with it.

sorry, but the lasers are gone for good. After i added them there was just something wrong with the sequence that i just couldn't put my finger on at first. it was the lasers. i tried removing them just from the shot where the TIE blows up but that didn't work so they had to go.

It's cool, Ady.  Personally, I think the scene works just as perfect without the added laser fire.  Just being in that asteroid field is a big hazard by itself.

Maybe G.E. Predator could use it, too. Wouldn't hurt to have it up with the proper a.r. a few times.

I'm a bit hurt by that, Ripplin.  I uploaded the trailer in my YT last night to share with all, especially those YT viewer who have not yet seen the trailer...yet I'm not really feeling any appreciation for my efforts just because the picture is a little stretched.

Dude, you uploaded... a video... to YouTube.

Get over yourself

I did get over myself already.  No need to butt in to a conversation that's already ended.

Relax.  I'm already spoken for.

Getting back ESB, the most I would do is restoration and addition of music to the lightsaber duel.

pretty much like I did here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XyGsXzlaK8

Sorted? Big group hug now...

Now Adys posted the trailer, its going to be quiter around here now hes making his props, so let him focus on the frustration of that insted of nit picking every frame of Empire that may add to his workload at the moment.

What the hell are we going to talk about though?

I agree.  I think he's done a good job on the trailer, and I foresee the finished project will be just as good.

As for what to talk about...hmmm?  Well, if you were revamping ESB, what would you do?

All Ripplin meant was that more people will find it if more people have it up.  Some people won't appreciate it not being in the right AR and will give the whole project a pass if they think that's the way its going to be...

Yes, that's all I meant. And I do appreciate your effforts, G.E! I just had the same sort of concern that 005 mentioned. I figure that if someone actually got YouTube to display it properly, they could share the wealth, so to speak. ;)

I understand.  And believe me, if I could upload the trailer without it being stretched AND without loosing it's high definition quality, then I would have done so.

Holy Crap...G E i was inspired to came back to this forum because I ran into the trailer you uploaded becuase I'm already subscribed to you and you put out a notice. I had stepped away because of life and had all but lost a great deal of excitement and just figured I'd come back at a latter time.

Then I saw Ady's trailer and was like "shit! I've obviously missed a lot!"

If you're looking for an accolade I can think of none greater. And yea, the aspect ratio throws me, but Ihave issues with it all the tim with my uploads...

I wasn't looking for a ceremonial embrace, just a simple "thanks" without any "buts" in them.  I know the picture on the trailer I uploaded is a little stretched, and if I could correct that without loosing the high definition of the trailer then I would have.

Still, it would have been nice to get a "thank you" instead of a "thank you, but..."

I wasn't thinking how the aspect ratio being stretched, I was thinking about how happy a lot of fans would have been just to see the trailer...

...but I guess I should face the facts that many SW fans are just too picky.

I say the railing should be even higher.

Tell that to my workplace too it has railings that aren't even that high. How high are typical railings anyway? I am guessing they are usually not as high as you think they are.

Remember those two guys from "Family Guy : Blue Harvest"

"So I said, 'Forget the dental plan.  Forget sick-leave.  I just want a railing, you know?'  ONE RAILING RIGHT THERE!!!"

LOL That's what the SW Universe needs:  More railings, and higher ones so people don't get thrown over them.

Oh, and nice that you put it on YouTube, G.E. Predator, but blimey (and no offense, but) the quality is AWFUL! :p Ladyferry (a.k.a. shellatella) will no doubt upload one that can be downloaded in high quality, and with the right aspect ratio to boot.

Give it some time to finish processing.  I uploaded it only 24 minutes ago.
