Is there a way to get rid of haloing on a blu ray transfers?

Paramount will probably release a 4k eventually. Likely a dnr mess but u never know. They did a fine job with ferris bueller 4k .
Speaking of ng3 that’s the only one that hasn’t got a laserdisc treatment yet .
FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF isn’t on 4K UHD! MADNESS!
Digital and Streaming don’t fucking count either.
NAKED GUN, NAKED GUN 2½, and NAKED GUN 33⅓ would be great to 35mm scans. In 1080p AND 4K.
Are you saying you’d be willing to update the naked gun trilogy if you could find way to gain access to the film prints etc.?
If ya don’t have them u should see for urself, personally I think they look pretty good , I didn’t notice much dnr. They got decent reviews on bluray.com
Universal has released much worse looking blurays.
Let me guess it was a case of it was used for the opticals wasn’t it if so I guess I could let it slide it kinda comes with the territory of older films no way around it really. I just wish it could line up with the video quality of the tv series on blu ray which is a good deal older than the films. 😦
Likely you’ll be staring at film damage instead of dnr if u got a print anyhow
I just looked up their review of the first movie and if the review for it and the even worse reviews for the sequels are any indication. they used the dvd scans which might as well have been upscales.
The Naked Gun films aren’t exactly the amazing visual experiences that the Blu-Rays are just so unwatchable. I mean I just watch them on DVD. I doubt a 35mm scan would be the head and shoulders improvment that we’re all clammering for.
Please stop asking for stuff like this and fixing DNR and Dolby Vision and whatever else.
This review of police squad the complete tv series blu ray set basically makes it sound like the naked gun trilogies blu rays are complete garbage. https://bluray.highdefdigest.com/81692/policesquadthecompleteseries.html

Well it’s a toss up with them sadly with every Addams family and Wayne’s world you get planes trains and automobiles.
Maybe not so much naked gun 1 but definitely the sequels grain reduction and not much care is pathetic. I’d really like to see someone get the film prints of all three and do a 4k scan of them if possible doesn’t have to have any Dolby vision or hdr just a 4k scan if possible.
Can someone look into getting the 35mm prints of the naked gun trilogy blu rays are subpar.
Just to update everyone…
I have it on very good authority that the recent German Blu-ray release by Turbine is fully uncut.
That means all the music edits and movie length Knight of the Drones (including the original title sequence) are all included.
I am not yet sure whether they’ve sourced stereo soundtracks for Season 4 but will let you all know when I know.
It’s not a cheap set but worth every penny if you value the episodes being uncut.
In their press for the release they said it has the stereo sound so wow the usa release couldn’t give us as complete a package as the German set has they have the complete episodes as aired including audio.
Is there a way fix your father’s lightsaber your father wanted you to to have it when you were old enough line and the when I first knew him your father already a great plot but I was amazed how strongly the force was with him I took it upon myself to train him as a Jedi to fit continuity?
Obi-Wan telling Luke that his father wanted him to have his lightsaber is a lie to get Luke to want to use it as he looks up to the idea of his father. This is important to Luke’s character: he joins the Jedi because he wants to be like his father, only for that dream to be shattered once he realizes it’s Darth Vader.
Everything Obi-Wan says in ROTJ is technically true, even if arguably he should’ve had a more active role in TPM. Anakin was already a great pilot and Obi-Wan would’ve known that, Obi-Wan was amazed by how strongly the force was with him because he was the one who first saw his midichlorian count and was amazed by it, and he did take it upon himself to train him as a Jedi, he just did it after Qui-Gon died to fulfill his promise.
It may feel a bit misleading but technically everything he says is correct even when taking the prequels into account.
I think what bothers me is the fact he says he took it upon himself not that he gave qui gon his word that one is harder to line up with return of the Jedi for me you can try to edit phantom menace to line it up but even then it still wouldn’t work for me. you would have to edit the I took it upon myself line to have it make sense in my eyes because other he’s flat out lying.
Is their any way to to adjust the when I first knew him your father already a great plot but I was amazed how strongly the force was with him I took it upon myself to train him as a Jedi lines to fit continuity?
My ‘Custom Special Edition’ of ANH addresses this. I use a syllable from the same scene to have him say, “I wanted you to have this….” And I don’t think it sounds too bad.
Also, the ROTS ‘canon cut’ by NFBisms tackles this differently. As Anakin and Padme have their hairbrushing balcony scene, there is dialogue implying Anakin is suggesting giving the baby a lightsaber.
What about obi wan explaining his relationship with anakin in return of the Jedi not remotely lining up with the phantom menace.

Well, I think your asking the wrong person about that lol. In my opinion, I guess it’s hard to remove the ret-con in ANH unless some A.I exists that clones Alec Guinness’s voice. And I think that the ROTJ explanation, although a bit “obvious” to clearly fix the discrepancy with the “certain point of view” thing, atleast provides an explanation to the audience, which at the moment, I don’t really have any problem with.
No I was saying your father’s lightsaber your father wanted you too have this when you were old enough line and I took upon myself too train him lines the prequels don’t line up with those explanations at all.
What lines would have to be removed from obi wan to not make him a liar about anakin in the original trilogy so it lines up with the prequel trilogy.
Yeah cringe free continuity sense making modern cgi including all the cgi characters would be awesome too bad pigs would have to fly before that awesome dream would ever happen. 😦
A version with just the FX enhancements without cutting anything would be fantastic. Loving the redone lightsabers and fixed goofs, but I have some pretty mixed feelings on the changes made to the story.
I’d think I’d still cut back on the jar jar antics in episode 1 and the boring parts that don’t add anything to the plot and any of the cringe moments etc. same goes for episode 2 and 3 to make them better films. unlike everyone else I’d keep midichlorians I was never bothered by them or the prophecy yes the space holy figure thing is weird but Jedi are kind of holy figures in the first place so them being monks and all these things kinda adds up. though them treat him like garbage is odd though so no wonder the Sith wiped them out.
For me my dream improved edition keeps the midiclorians because I was never bothered by that fixes the other issues updates the cgi to modern standards and ties it in better with the clone wars and updates the lightsabers best as can be to sequel trilogy standards.
I didn’t mention the cgi shots I was saying why can’t we get everything and kitchen sink of deleted scenes from the Lucasfilm archives of the six George lucas Star Wars films. I don’t get why are they hold the gems back from us. that Sith Lord scene is an example of something they held back from us. 😦
Oh yeah I totally agree. It would be great if they put out the ILM documentary series they did recently and bundled all the deleted scenes as a bonus. Theres a gun battle missing from Empire strikes back which nobody ever mentions it’s in the script too. Lando’s Guards with the funny noses vs stormtroopers. There is a lot of unseen stuff for Empire strikes back. Anyway I have 4 more scenes to go now for deleted scene soundmixes.
1.Luke opening binoculars
2.Luke treadwell Lars homestead sandcrawler arrives
These 2 I already have material prepared for them.
- Han and chewie extended “what are you looking at?” Gag which is one of my favourites.
4.Death star destruction although I have sorted this the other day I want to move Vader saying “I have you now” to before the targeting computer locks on to the xwing not afterward. It makes little sense in the order it is in plus theres something else too I want to add.
Very close now to the finish line.
Really They did recently officially release more deleted in non video cam footage quality.

So I’m having a bit of an issue.
After rendering the file to my external drive, It doesnt open and instead sends me an error message like this:
I’ve tried to render a portion to my internal drive and it seems fine.
but the problem is that my internal drive is almost full and can’t hold a 30GB file.
what do I do?I also tried converting it via AVIDEMUX but that doesn’t seem to work either.
I’m using Davinci resolve for rendering BTW.
Does this edit use that shot you fix on your 2020 4k of a new hope of C-3PO on the falcon?
I love it and it’s makes me wonder is there someone combining these kinds of fixes with the work adywan is doing with a new hope revisited hd when it eventually comes out with other changes he hasn’t thought of like with the radio drama audio your adding in your a new hope edit etc.
What do you mean? all the changes I’ve made Adywan has already done, and then some.
So this and your DEVASTATOR edition has the same audio and video changes as adywan a new hope revisited hd will have?
Here is an example of the quality recovery:
RAW
Enhanced
Closeup:
final comp
what do you think?

hey everyone, the edit is still rendering.
please send your request pm if you haven’t already.
please let me know of any technical issues or rendering defects.
there will definitely be a V2, with better effects, and in 4K.
anyhow, thanks for following this edit.Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

How’s your version compare to adywan’s a new hope revisited hd us adywan fans are waiting for? Ignore I didn’t see the early part of your post sorry.
I wish more or all surviving deleted scenes from the original trilogy would be officially released because we know they exist like in a new hope the Sith Lord mentioned. makes you wonder what other gems are locked away from us same with even the prequel trilogy. 😦
I came up with an idea to include those lines however the audio is so boomy but the audio in the state it was in kind of spurred the idea.
Basically If we showed Vader looking out the Bridge of the Star Destroyer like in Empire Strikes Back and as if Vader can sense what is being said about him… “I tell you he’s gone too far… This sith Lord will be undoing” while Vader looks out of the window in to space then when he goes on to talk about the station being tactically insignificant or whatever we would see the death star then we cut to the film footage of The star destroyer and then heading towards the death star with the music as is which would lead in to the conference room scene.
Although I think it “could” work this way it’s a real stretch. It’s a shame the audio quality is so bad and the video is unsuitable.
I think you missed my point we shouldn’t have just gotten that one scene and like that it should have been restored with a plethora of deleted scenes for all six of the films George worked on for the uhd release there was no reason not to include them. if the new ghostbusters could include the deleted scenes from 2 even though it was still missing some of the infamous ones. then the Star Wars set could have as well even if it was a blu ray extras disc there’s no excuse.
