I just made an account and i’m confused, how do I download this?
Simple: ask the poster for a PM linking to the edit.

Do you also plan on adding some of the additional shots I suggested (e.g. the Starkiller Base laser and some new shots in the other edit I linked to)?
Needless to say, I’d like a comment, especially about the Naboo addition. 😉
Honestly, it looks more like they’re celebrating than panicking and being scared. Maybe you can zoom in to make it look more like there’s crowds gathering to see what’s going on, with some panicked shouting and all that added in? Also, maybe you can add a color-corrected-to-green shot of a laser beam shot by Starkiller Base in the Alderaan edit, as well as some new shots in this standalone edit?
Good point Anakin! Probably better off just to not show it.
TN2, probably because that would be near impossible for anyone to do on our level.
Why not just dye the hair and beard grey in After Effects?
Here’s a suggestion: use the music in this video (the music I recommend should be after 0:58) in your edit of the Alderaan destruction scene, allowing the scene to have more emotional weight. What do you think?
Here’s an idea I have: Luke’s projection form on Crait should look identical to his older appearance in the film, in terms of hair and beard. There’s edits that give him the green lightsaber to make the projection reveal more surprising, but why not change the hair and beard too?
I’d like to hear this music in the Battle of Crait: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMJ3kkj0HS8. Can you put it in?
Do you plan on adding footage from Scene 38 Reimagined?
Do you plan on adding The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker to your edit?
So how would Kylo get his facial scar in your “Rey doesn’t beat Kylo” version?
Have him get his scar when Snoke strikes him with Force lightning in The Last Jedi.
I just realized something: you can only deepfake the face and not the hair on the head. Guess I’ll have to change Luke’s hair and beard color in After Effects…
Here’s a suggestion:
In the novelization of The Force Awakens, we get more dialogue from Snoke, and at one point (I think?) he explains how he saw the rise and fall of the Empire. So my suggestion is to re-arrange parts of existing audio of Snoke that sound right and repurposing it into new dialogue (similar to Despacito 2 having remixed audio from Despacito) explaining how Snoke saw the rise and fall of the Empire and formed the First Order. What do you think?
Very cool concept but it sounds almost impossible. CGI would nearly impossible to pull off as realistic. BUT maybe someone could possibly deepfake Luke’s older appearance onto Luke in that scene. Anyone know how to do that?
Here’s a deepfake tutorial I found on YouTube.
Some people have changed the lightsaber that Luke uses in his duel with Kylo in TLJ to the green lightsaber from RotJ, whether it is because it would make the whole projection reveal more surprising or anything like that. However, what I’m going to talk about today is that I’m wondering if anyone has actually tried to make his APPEARANCE (hair & beard) identical to his other appearences in the film, by having it be long-ish and grey, to make the projection reveal very surprising.
The projection reveal was very easy to predict, mainly because Luke looks exactly the same as in the flashbacks, as well as using his father’s lightsaber that was recently split in half.
Here’s a suggestion: Luke should have his lightsaber from Return of the Jedi on Crait, because the whole “Luke is a projection” thing was very predictable (mainly due to the blue lightsaber, the same design from the flashbacks, and the fact that he didn’t get hurt by the AT-ATs). So, giving Luke his lightsaber from Return of the Jedi would make the whole projection thing less predictable. What do you think?
Do you plan on adding the Obi-Wan vs. Vader fan remaster (SC 38 Reimagined) to your edit?
What would be an appropriate recolouring?
I think either red or gold works. I mean, the First Order sometimes uses the color red, like the red banner in Hux’s speech or even the new Sith Troopers in IX. And as for gold, as the other user pointed out, there IS a golden Stormtrooper in Resistance.
If you think it’s that easy, maybe you should give it a shot.
I don’t have After Effects, but I’ll put a photoshopped image of Phasma here. However, I currently have school, so I’m too busy to do this. I’ll do it over the weekend, if I have time.
I mean, yeah, but Poppasketti’s post explains exactly why just doing that isn’t enough.
You can remove her from the movie, but the scene she’s featured in doesn’t work without her. Best idea anyone’s had is redubbing her lines and maybe also recoloring her armor to make her into an entirely different stormtrooper-in-command, but both of those things are tricky and haven’t really been attempted yet.
Try doing the whole “recoloring the armor” in Adobe After Effects?
I believe that is on the wishlist of a lot of editors, but no one’s been able to figure out how to do it seamlessly just yet.
Maybe remove the shots featuring her or even rotoscope her out of some shots, like how poppasketti removed Finn and Rose out of the shot of the cannon destroying the door?
I have a suggestion for you: can you remove Phasma from the entire movie? There was no point in bringing her back, there wasn’t an explanation for why she survived being thrown in a trash compactor on a planet that promptly exploded, and even though the fight was removed she’s still a wasted character because in your version she’s killed in Holdo’s suicide attack.
Where was the battlefront footage?
In the fixed flashback scene, and in the opening space battle.
Fixed Flashback scene? Like when Finn wakes up?
The one where Luke explains that he went to the island to try to find a way to save Ben/Kylo.
