(EDIT: Ah nm. I found a post where somebody had spotted it previously. Anyway, I guess I'll leave the post here. Next time I'll do some searching beforehand.)
Ghost Luke! Has anybody ever spotted this before?
This is present from 1997 onward from what I can tell.
Ah, it's still in my copy of Revisited too! ;(
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why they should've stuck with film. Barring SFX, they could have better quality than what they came out with. Anyway if I had the time, I'd make one myself!
Well, I can’t make a full edit, but… I can at least try restoring a few select frames.
As Mike Verta pointed out, the seams between the matte and the set is glaring. So I gave a shot at patching it up.
It’s still… very bad, but not as bad as it was before.
I had to correct the sky colour to match the other shots in the Mos Eisley sequence, and while I was at it, I figured I should try restoring some detail.
So I used the same frame from the Special Editions to do that. The Landspeeder, though, still suffers from that hazy forcefield; it might need a thorough redrawing.
This shot’s ok. But having been inspired by the Legacy Edition streams, I hoped to take it a step further and make it look cleaner and whiter.
Also, I tried to reduce some of the aliasing on some of the brighter light domes. Interestingly, it all looks better without the grain. Hm…
On a less-than-subtle note, I did experiment with lens-flaring. Looking at it though, I think I ought to have used two different types. Hm…
Ah, stuff it - all this is far beyond my capabilities.
Ah, I see. How close is it to completion then?
Was there a V1 Blu-ray at one point?
I don't suppose it'll be easier to try working with it in Vegas then?
Demux... how do I do that?
Primarily, just the video and the audio. Although in fact I'd probably prefer to have it converted.
Is there a free software available that'll allow me to edit an MKV directly, or at least convert it into something manageable by Adobe Premiere?
Ye- what?
Has an unedited version of the Vaseline-forcefield scene (#83-4) ever been found?

are there fanedits out there that are based on the 1995 thx versions of the old trilogy? you know, the last ones that came out before the special editions?
The master used to produce the 1995 THX releases is the same one used to produce the 2006 Theatrical Bonus DVDs (a.k.a., GOUT).
Team Blu is doing their own upscaled/cleaned-up/etc. release of GOUT. I guess one could consider this a "fanedit", but I don't think the term applies well to this kind of work; "restoration" would be more fitting.
Come to think of it, where is the thread for that restoration?
Personally I've had enough of him. He's the cheapest visionary I've ever known - and he came up with the franchise in the first place! ...unless he plagiarized it from someone else.... hm....
Would you suggest poison?

And it wouldn't have happened, either, if it wasn't for Disney's intervention! The only thing left to do now, of course, is to bring the OUT out of its moratorium.
I agree. This will be all worth it if Disney releases the OUT. Even if the sequels totally suck.
I'll forgive them for every wrongdoing they make if it happens.

They're selling this kids book series about the original trilogy like it's meant to educate the demo that knows mostly the prequel/cartoon era.
Now you mention it, it occurs to me how the two Darth Vader & Son books primarily reference the OUT elements in the backgrounds.
Were any drafts ever written with these plans?
Should've stuck to hand-animation!
He's got point!
oh dear. this show is screwed.

Figures he won't take no for an answer! But I suppose I'll try it anyway. NO, NO, NO!!

Also, werent the last two prequels shot at 2k or under, so they would be impossible.
Would it be possible to upscale it at all?

I was just going to bring that up! Yes, a very compelling case for this top 11.
