The Prequels are good because they quote shots better movies.

it’s hard for me to explain, so this video explains it for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqnjzVX8EKA

Rick Worley?

You must be trolling? Or you would not have posted that the video was by him, and without saying it was by Rick Worley?

C;mon, your first post on an OT discussion forum is link to a video by Rick Worley

I’m not going to speak for the others, but I am commenting on the fact a “new” member’s first and only post on here is that to link to a video, by Rick Worley, and say nothing else.

In a discussion thread about the Prequels. To register and join here and just post a video. And that is it, because they cannot or will not discuss their own opinions. Again, in a discussion thread. That seems spamming, shilling or trolling for Rick Worley to me.

I think it is fair comment by myself. If you disagree, then fine.

Can I be honest? Can I be truly, brutally honest?

The attitude of many members of this forum towards those who defend the Prequel Trilogy is reprehensible in my opinion. Okay, this is an OT discussion forum. So what? Does that mean that one can’t be free to defend the Prequel Trilogy? Does that mean that one must only talk badly about those movies? I myself have been the subject of similar criticism in the past, and even though I didn’t say it openly, I was very annoyed by this. Just because I said that the dialogue isn’t as bad as everyone says, I was treated with condescension, and it was very annoying for me.

You all should stop acting like you have absolute truth, because it can be very irritating. Don’t get me wrong, to discuss and criticize other people’s arguments is absolutely okay. But to act like “Yeah bro, sure, you can continue to carry out your wrong opinions, but the rest of us, who are all superior, will continue to say things as they are” is very irritating.

You claim to be a friendly forum where everyone can express their opinions freely, and you even boast to have numerous Prequel fans on here. But paradoxically, every time that a Prequel fan who actually tries to defend the movies pops up, he gets overwhelmed with criticism and condescending, or he’s even accused of being a troll solely because he says things that are different from the common thought on here. It happened to me, it happened to Stardust1138, it happened to other people, and it’s going to happen over and over again, because this place has become an echo chamber.

I suggest you all to grow up and learn to respect other people’s opinions.

I would look up the history of this forum, and respect that history, the members on here, and their point of view based from this. If you choose to be on here as a Prequel fan, then expect to read criticism of them, of George’s choices and actions, the changes made to the OT to make them fit in with the Prequels, the suppression of the OOT, and so on.

Yes, there is “no absolute truth”, just members’ opinions. It is not an “echo chamber” on here, yet it is different from many other websites online, because it is mainly from the point of view of the Original Trilogy. It does not mean that there is no other opinions allowed, but they should be done with “a civility and respect”, according to the About, Help, and Welcome threads, and overall feel of this forum.

That was perfectly put, thank you for doing that. 👏

Continuity Error With Obi-Wan Within the ST

You’re thinking about it harder than they did. The TFA voice over Easter Egg and that whole vision scene had no purpose so it’s kind of irrelevant.

Exactly, Abrams was just slinging around random ideas and easter eggs for “neat factor”. Which, as we all know, is all he does. I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that while they were editing TFA Abrams heard Ewen McGregor was nearby and invited him to come take a look at some clips and decided then and there to get him to record a line for the “vision sequence”. Ewen even said he was taken by surprise and had to reremember how to do his Alec Guiness accent. So that just goes to show you how last minute and inconsequential it was.

I mean, there is nothing that their minds will come up with that is so creative and inspiring as to “fix” the ST or the Rey character. Let’s be honest, the best thing that could come from this is for fan editors to make a more palpable “ep.9” to either ignore TROS or take very little from it. 🤷‍♂️ I mean it’s not like Tony Gilroy is writing this…don’t count on them making a home run for the FOURTH attempt in a row…and even if they do, that doesn’t change how sloppy and weak the entire ST is on its own.

Is there any sense of excitement for this movie? I think Disney may be throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks in regards to buzz and merchandise. Ridley’s character and story were not compelling and this movie bombing would sink the franchise. If it isn’t sinking already.

Some people just want “more star warz” and don’t care about the quality whatsoever. Ya know, the ones who are like “there’s been dumb/goofy stuff in SW before so there must continue to be dumb/goofy logic defying sloppy writing”. So they’re excited hah.

People have a right to voice their opinions on this forum. You may hear something you don’t like…but it’s unnecessary to talk down to them by telling them to “just don’t watch it” and other childish retorts. Just comment on another forum if you don’t like the tone of this one. It’s simple. Stop acting like a victim and maybe take your own advice on “just don’t comment” maybe.

Honestly, season 2 ending works great as a finale to the series too. If you have some other higher quality shows on your watchlist I’d say go check them out instead of this.

Absolutely this. And I honestly loved the two BOBF episodes with solo Mando and Luke with Grogu…but they aren’t necessary really. That’s certainly the point that the quality of the show was halted for good.

“Fantastic episode! I gasped when I saw Jack and Izzo…I screamed when I saw Christopher Lloyd! How can you not like this show??”

That is what I just read on Facebook. That was all it took to sell this guy. Might as well just blow up paper bags and pop them at this point…new SW fans are just cameo geeks.

And on other discussion forums everyone is going crazy over Ahmed Best showing up…declaring a 10/10 episode. Everything’s just about cameos, wink and nod to fans and the shock value of it. Utterly boring to me…all the conversations are about “who knows about who”…Does Thrawn know about Luke…Does Ahsoka know about Andor…etc etc. Just boring stuff. And I’m sorry but Ahmed’s acting was pretty weak.

a movie so poorly written as AOTC.

Yeah… No.

“Just being around her again is… intoxicating.”
“Attachments… FORbidden.”
“I’m haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating, hoping that that kiss will not become a scar.”
“Don’t leave. Your presence is soothing.”
And of course, the ultimate example:
“I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything’s soft… and smooth.”

I’m sorry, but if you can’t see how crappy half the dialogue in AOTC is (especially whenever Anakin’s on screen), you’re delusional. And the extremely subpar directing doesn’t do it any favors either.

Yeah, that’s basically the way I talk to people every day, and everyone loves me for that. So no, of course I don’t hate it.

Dude how old are you? Hahah. Let it go.

Yeesh…I just can’t get into this show anymore. Everything is so bland, cheap looking and boring plots. Favereu is getting nuts with cameos and mediocre dialogue and that scene with Grogu getting evacuated by Jedi Jar Jar didn’t tell us anything we already didn’t know. Except now we know a random Jedi did it. Huzzah.

Historical preservation of movie edits should NOT be regulated to an assumed “interest”. SW fans, today, are especially eclectic so you can’t act like the “fan base” wants this or that. It is a silly political response. He’s basically saying “That ain’t happening” then trying to defend his employers with reasons.

Star Wars Episode IX (was) to be directed by Colin Trevorrow - DUEL OF THE FATES RIP
Time

I think that the DOTF script was a better direction in the story to go…I wish we could read a more revised script because the one floating around needs alot of work in dialogue and some plot decisions. I’ve never seen a Colin Trevorrow movie that was filmed well or seemed like they had a good director present…so I think he probably would have delivered a weak looking SW film, even if the story beats sound better on paper. I also don’t know if we would have found DOTF satisfying as an end to that trilogy. It’s just a flawed tale right from the start with TFA. Something tells me if they still went with DOTF we would still be unsatisfied with the whole purpose of the ST and would have nitpicked it to death…then STILL come to the conclusion that the ST was all unplanned and riffed the entire time. And I have no evidence that Colin can make an epic movie work out.

But yeah, it’s a better script than TROS…by a long shot.
