In the old days the studio promo-guy would comp a gram of great coke for this type of press!

“Prepare to eat your words, every dude who got angry that the Ghostbusters franchise was being rebooted with an all female cast. Director Paul Feig just released the first trailer, and it looks every bit as amazing as you thought it would. There is so much to love here. They brought back Slimer! Kate McKinnon is totally in her element as the hilarious oddball! I’m a little upset that they made Leslie Jones a street-smart cliche while everyone else gets to be scientists! But they actually give women jobs like quantum physicist and engineer in this movie! Go ahead and watch the trailer again. I’ll wait.”

Ranking the Star Wars Soundtracks
Time

Lord Haseo said:

May I ask why? The best music in the PT soundtracks rivals that of the best Williams made for the OT. I can understand as to why someone would say don’t watch the PT but equating the music to shit just because the movies are is kind of ridiculous.

I should have typed “I never listen to the others”. I was not saying it as a suggestion. You see, I was just never very interested in getting the PT soundtracks when they came out. I only saw TPM on opening day and kind of stayed away from the merchandise and other episodes all together after that. Well Until TFA that is and I still have not picked up the soundtrack for it. There are a lot of decent soundtracks I don’t own and can not rate. I first started collecting soundtracks over 40 years ago (“Jaws” by J. Williams was actually my first soundtrack album, and I think “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” was my 2nd.) and the original trilogy soundtracks and films were new and fresh at that time of my life. Films and collecting tie-in merchandise had also been a major part of my life back then. As I got older my interests and money drifted to other things, so I stopped collecting soundtracks as a hobby in the late 1990’s. Every now and then I will get one if it’s truly amazing, but I just don’t delve into soundtracks as I once did. I think moving my massive collection of albums and CDs around the country three times had a lot to do with my giving collecting soundtracks up. And yes, just because I don’t like a film I still can enjoy the soundtracks. I LOVE the soundtrack to films like “The World is Not Enough” and “Krull”, yet I loath the films they are from. I just can’t rate soundtracks I am not too familiar with.

“‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ news: First story details released during annual Disney shareholders meeting”
The very first footage of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” has been viewed by a select audience during this year’s Disney shareholders meeting. According to a report from /Film, one of the attendees was able to give a rough outline of the scenes and images revealed in the short clip shown to them.

“Most of it was very quick. A shot of the black stormtrooper, possibly called Death Troopers as previously reported, another pic of that same style of helmet and armor but all chrome, reminiscent of Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens,” the source revealed.

A variant of the AT-AT walker was also shown. While it may be similar to the ones shown in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Star Wars Rebels,” this variant is said to have a lighter beige color on the side door panels.

This source also revealed that a few sequences of the cast were also shown, although briefly. Diego Luna, Donnie Yen and Felicity Jones were all showcased, with Felicity appearing in what is said to be a ship or shuttle with a ramp opening behind her.

According to the report, Felicity stated something at the end of the footage reel but was not quoted as the source could not recall the exact words she stated.

In a report from Cinema Blend, the information from the sizzle reel appears to contradict what many assumed would be done with “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in the sense that it is still introducing a lot of new elements to the “Star Wars” universe instead of relying on what was seen in the original trilogy.

This is because “Rogue One” is set prior to the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope” and will focus on the rebellion as they attempt to steal the Death Star plans, the same plans that would become the driving force of “A New Hope.” With that in mind, it was assumed that “Rogue One” would not introduce new elements such as Death Troopers and new AT-ATs.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” releases in theaters on Dec. 16.
