Holy shite. That’s some damn sad news right there. RIP.

I’m still in shock on this one!

"The 66-year-old star was not suffering from any illness … as far as we know … so, it appears this was sudden. A source connected to Shandling says he was healthy and speaking to people on Thursday morning.

Our source says there was a 911 call from “The Larry Sanders Show” star’s home, and he was transported to the hospital. We’re told Shandling was alive when he arrived at the hospital."

Speaking of pets, my cat just died this winter. He was about a year younger than me, and was born in my home, so I was practically raised by this cat. He had a very imaginative name: GrayWhite; symbolic for the colors of his different fur patches.

Also sorry to hear of your loss Dek Rollins, I just lost my Service Dog of 11 year to a massive stroke this past Christmas Eve, and it was truly devastating. I also have a cat, and I know how we bond with them as well.

Saw Star Trek (2009) last night, and liked it very much. Not an instant classic film, but very enjoyable.  Glad I went to see it. Sure it has it’s problems, but nothing that made me groan too much.  I’m looking forward to the next installment.  I enjoyed it in the same way I did “Galaxy Quest”. What more can I say?

I would say that I still feel the same way about Trek 2009, I just think that the Trek films that I had listed above it are more enjoyable to watch on repeated viewing. I don’t “hate” any Trek film, but some are less enjoyable. The main reason Trek 2009 and “Into Darkness” are very low on the list is because of the re-casting of well established characters. But I still did not have the hate for it that many people had when it was released. That is mostly why my review sounded so positive. “Star Trek” (2009) was an enjoyable movie going experience for me, but not the best Star Trek movie going experience. Along the same lines on recasting, I’m sure “The Search for Spock” would have been much higher on my list had Kirstie Alley returned as Savik.

“E.T.”
“THX 1138”

Just out of curiosity, would you care to elaborate.

Could just never get into “THX-1138”, I don’t know why. Now “E.T.” is too kid focused for my tastes. I don’t really go for child protagonist films. You could add “The Goonies”, “Explorers”, “Space Camp”, “Annie”, “Hook”, “Jumanji” to my list.
