He's in there, he's in there! :-)

Ok, here is a small breakdown on how I split the films up...

1) Made a new overture using the original films space effects with no titles, and using the PotA Main Title. (There is a menu option to skip this)

2) Taylor's Log Report - Taylor goes to sleep, pause shot on "Chuck Heston in" and then...

X-Fade To:

3)Fade in Escape just after 20th century Fox title and before "An APJ Presents" title) this section has lots of small edits to get the apes to the beach faster, and then I cut some silly dialog about "Welcome to the United..." I then cut just before the titles of Escape show up.

Cut To:

4) *New* shot of the outside of the White House (from "2010"), with dialog of the presedent from "Escape" under, then cut into the oval office. Again this scene had to be cut up a bit and dialog changed so not to mention the death of the Ape Milo.

Cut to:

5) U.K. News Report

Cut to:

6) Heavy edit of the zoo scene where the humans examine the apes. The death of Dr. Milo is a new edit. I did not like how it was done with all the Zoo animals going nuts in some out of place cut away shot in the original.

CUT to:

7) Hallway scene with News Men, then a heavy edit of the Commission Hearing. I have inserted something new here. When one of the Humans ask the Apes if they knew taylor, we have some flash backs of Taylor in his chage giving the note "My Name is Taylor" to Zira, then flash back to to the hearing. The scene plays out with a few more small edits.

Cut to:

8) After the hearing, the Apes go with there new human friends to an office to talk. It's here that Zira starts to tell them the Apes knew Taylor, and now we...

X-Fade to:

9) The Crash of Taylor's Ship, in a heavy Edit. Just after Landon plants the flag, we go back to "Escape" for a few seconds for some comments from the humans, then the apes continue the story. We cut back to PotA for a heavy (but well done) edit of taylor's story.

More to come...

Thanks! I'll be sure to try and do the T.P. mythos justice.

I'm going to run off work prints of this project so that I can send it out to some of you fans for testing. I'll take a look at all suggestions and comments and try to incorporate all changes into a master version that will use the Soon to be released DVDs as masters. If any of you want to be on the "RED CURTAINS" beta viewing team, please PM me.

These are very welcome and valid concerns!

This is just what I am looking for, and believe I have taken some very creative steps to overcome your concerns. As a rule, I try
to inject fun video & audio editing techniques to amuse a fan who probably is very familiar with the original material. The pilot
film & season two opener had been very good, but they have some things I would like to add / change. Also, the quickly made
extended ending made for the theatrical release of the pilot episode is confusing and poorly executed in my opinion. It may take
4 or 5 feature length segments to tell the story corectly, but that will have to remain to be seen. Please keep an open mind, and
be assured that this will be much more then just a cut and paste project. Thank you all for your input!

I have been playing with this T.P. edit off and on for some time now, but other things keep poping up. *grin*

I have all the episodes on VHS & some on LD, so I had started with that as the project's sorce. The new DVD box sounds great, but who knows if the release date of that new set will happen or not. Twin Peaks and other Lynch titles have had such bad luck that I am just going to go on with what I have now. If there is a demand for it, or if I have not yet released RED CURTAINS, a re-make can be made from the DVDs as sorce. I could have used the DVD set for season one, but the shift in quility would have been too much of a jolt.

There is alot of story there, so the main "Cooper / Bob" story would still have to be told over a series of segments. Rather then use the one hour format, I was thinking of making a few movie length segments. This way, "Fire Walk With Me" would be part one, "Red Curtains" part two, and "Black Lodge" would be the conclusion. The title "Black Lodge" is not final...

"RED CURTAINS: Twin Peaks Retold" Fanedit (Released)
Time

As there has been some talk of the old Twin Peaks show around here, I would like to share some info (and ask for initial feedback) on a project that I have had on the back burner for some time now. It’s called “RED CURTAINS: Twin Peaks Retold”.

It is a re-edit of The Twin Peaks show in order to make the “Bob” story unfold and feel more like a David Lynch move rather then an episodic T.V. network show. This production will be much darker in feel, and will also contain some scenes from “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me”, “David Lynch’s: Industrial Symphony NO. 1”, along with audio segments added in from the audio tape “Diane: The Twin Peaks Tapes”, and also some re-edits of tracks from a rare Julee Cruise Extended Play CD. This is a major re-edit of shots and dialog from the show, and is not just a re-order of scenes and/or clipping events.

EDIT:

June 22, 2014

Due to the soon to be released “<span>Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery” Blu-ray collection containing additional “new” unreleased footage from the original show and FWWM film, I’ve decided to return to this project.

The “RED CURTAINS: Twin Peaks Retold” fan edit project is on again, and will ultimately be presented in HD.

Yes, this is the entire film "Thunderball", and the most complete version of the original C.R. that is known to still exist.

There are just a few small things left to be done to the issolated score track, and then this project should be done.

What about After Effects? Would it have been possible to place a lock on the eyes to follow them around, and then attach the blue to them?

I think so.

What about the other fan edit of Dune? The pan-Scan one that was done before the new special edition Dune came out? All of the blue eyes where done for that version, who did that edit?

That was my Fan Edit of DUNE, and I used After Effects alot on that. Took about two weeks to do all the eyes in my off time.

Yes it looks like the ones I mark as from VHS are from the offical tapes.

I made an error on Chapter 2. It's from From T.V. (USA Watermark) - Stereo, not from the offical VHS.

Looks like i'm going to have to compare which one is better: your USA watermarks or my original broadcasts.

Sounds like a plan. You can send me a P.M. so we can work something out.

Idea: MAX HEADROOM - a preservation?
Time
I was told that there's a few sets for sale on the auctions, but that they are missing some scenes / shots where the person who was recording the original forgot to start recording the program after the adverts. I let my VCR run, and change tapes on the adverts well before the tape runs out. :-)

After "Thunderball" is done (and it's close0, I'll have a go at Max.

Idea: MAX HEADROOM - a preservation?
Time

http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:csm25GbG_UJcqM:www.serieslive.com/img/series/casting/max_headroom.jpg
When looking in storage for my Indiana Jones stuff, I found a bunch of VHS tapes I made of Max Headroom. This was recorded off of Sci-Fi Network when they had a Maxathon Marathon of the entire shows run. This show was GREAT, and after watching a few episodes, it still holds up very well today. The transfers look great, and this show can not be found in an offical release. I don’t have the BBC version of the pilot, or the talkshows. This is just the prime time network run episodes.

Anyone think this needs preservation?

Young Indiana Jones... a preservation (* unfinished project *) - a mass of info &amp; ideas
Time
Hi,

Just wanted to report back with some info on my Young Indiana Jones episodes.

Well they look to be in excelent shape. I have all the episodes, and by doing a test on just a few so far, it looks as if they ARE IN STEREO!

I'm going to go back and look at a few I know had not been on official VHS, and see if they are stereo too, and if they have the Old Indi intro segments. Man, I wish they would have used the John Williams music cues.
IMHO, The Indiana Jones mythos is 40% Harrison Ford and another 40% John Williams. Young Indiana Jones is thankfully able to capture the remaining 20% required for enjoyment.

FF

Update- Looks like "Curse of the Jackal" is in mono and was recorded off of the USA network. Not a very good copy. :-(

So, it looks like all the non-VHS episodes are T.V. rips from the USA network and in mono. I'm not that happy with the amount of grain in the picture. I could try to clean them up a bit more with Adobe, but I woud rather see if anyone can come up with better versions first. IF not, I'll be happy to share what I have.

Before starting this project, I made sure to do a bit of research so as not to duplicate any features, and make a unique fan preservation.
As far as I can tell, my preservation will only include "Out-of-Print" elements even after the July 17th UE DVD's come out.

Below is some detailed info on the New Official UE "Thunderball" DVD.

I have my pre-order in! Do all of you?

My personal Thunderball (International Cut) Laserdisc Preservation will not be done untill after I have had a chance to view the new UE Thunderball dvd set, and make sure nothing is duplicated.

There are 3 Alternate sections of Dialog / 2 Scenes with alternate or no music score / A more vividly colorful Print that has more image top and bottom.

In addition this DVD will for the first time include the -stereo- isolated John Barry score matached up to the film, and also include the now out-of-print USA, French, and World Mono mixs of the movie.

This is a preservation project.

Isolated score versions for You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, and Live and Let Die are on the way too!

BANNED BOND: The Criterion Collection on DVD (Released)
Time
Fascinating,

I had never heard of an official work print being in existence for Thunderball or any of the Pre-70's Bond's.

I do bet that The Ian Fleming Foundation sure world like to get their hands on a Thunderball work print if it truly exists, and would compensate the barer handsomely!!!

The IFF states on the Inside Thunderball segment of the SE DVD that there was a major deleted scene where Bond has a tour of the Disco Volante, but no footage of that segment is still in existance. Only a few productions stills remain.

The "Things I Do For England" Deleted Segment that I will have on my DVD was created by me using the Pan & Scan
Laserdisc and the Television Trailer that contains the rare out-take footage. The video has been color corrected as best we can
for optimal visual presentation for a composit. The entire segment is about 60 seconds, and 100% Fanfiltration made.

As for any other extras, this project is busting it's seams as it is. But exception will allways be made for any truly valuable Bond rarities that may drift into the Fanfiltration studios.

More to come...
