Heroes
Time
I've seen reports that "Heroes Origins" is now dead due mostly to the huge fall in ratings this past fall, as well as the strike. It would IMHO be much better if they just make the season 3 scripts and story much stronger then to split production up into two projects. I loved season one, but found season two very weak, un-inventive, and much too repetitive. The whole idea of the no one can die if they get a bit of super blood takes so much away from the drama and fear of losing one of our heroes. Do you truly think "Flying Man" Nathan will die now? Come on, all you need is some super Clair blood and all better. Or, will it now be that they can now use Peter's blood too, as he shares the power with Clair? This is all becoming a run of the mill comic book story, and does not have that fresh felling that the show had for most of season one. Also the teen romance parts make me want to puke. Why are they trying to pander to high school girls with this crap? The ratings show this is not brining the show any new viewers, so I pray they drop that type of crap in season 3. Let us get some new bad ass bad guys, and forget about nerds like "Bob", who is just old, dumpy and boring. Eric Roberts had much more of a fear factor related to him then this jerk "Bob" does. The once cool cutting edge dialogue has now become common and plain. The Suresh and Parkman story angle is now nothing more than "Two Men and a Little {Bratty} Lady". Heroes needs to grow some serious balls in season 3 if it wants to survive!

I'll give Episode One something...
Time

The best part of TPM for me was right after I saw the first showing at our local theater. I had a blast telling everyone on the line outside for the next show what a pile of crap that the film they had been standing there waiting for hours to see was. I remember one guy getting all mad at me. With much over confidence he belted out to the entire line of people that I must be making it all up, and this was going to be the best film ever. But, then scores of other people coming out of my showing confirmed my banter of disgust to them all. I'll never forget the huge moaning sound that group made, and the pissed off look of that dude. Sorry, but that will be with me forever.

What do you think? What the hell was Leia doing at Tatooine at the start of ANH?!

I could have just made this up, but I seem to remember either from the novel or the radio drama that she knew she wouldn't make it all the way to Alderaan with that Star destroyer on her tail so she takes a quick detour to Tatooine (which en route, apparently) where she knows she has a friend in Obi-Wan.

Like I said... could have just made all that up!

I think you're correct... they lightspeede'd to Tatooine after being found by the Devastator.

Yep that's right!

They had a segment on E.T. as well, but they didn't show the entire trailer, just snippets of it. Are you talking about the bit in the truck?

Yes, and just this 5 second scene confirms why Indy fans will enjoy this movie, and why the didn't like the PT: INDY IS STILL IN IT!!! The PT didn't have those lovable characters in it, so if you didn't care for them, how could you like the movies? With Indy IV, I am not saying it will be Raiders-quality, I am not even saying it is going to be a great movie, but its got Ford, his hat, the whip, the music, and it will have that humor in it, so nobody will hate it like they did with the PT, cause you will have someone to root for the whole time.

Finally, someone friggin gets it! I've been saying this all along--it's got Ford as Indy...how bad can it be? People have been bitching about it being as bad as the PT, but the primary problem with the PT was the characters. So if we've got a new Indy movie, and Indy is still in it (With some returning characters) how bad can it really be?

Remember Highlander 2? Same lovable characters in it, but it was a stink bomb to most fans of the first film. Same thing with Robocop 2, Superman III and IV, Never Say Never Again, Poltergeist 2, Star Trek Insurrection and Nemesis. There are a number of films that have the same stars playing the "lovable characters", and they still stink to most moviegoers. I'm sure some people will think this new Indiana Jones movie will be the best of the lot, but how much money it brings in will be the real test.

Cop Attacks Skateboarder, For Calling Him "Dude"

You can send that Police Department your comments at

questions@baltimorepolice.org

My email to them is below.

"What is wrong with your police force? Don't you train your cops? That "DUDE" Rivieri did show a truly disgusting bit of police work!

Your officer should not do that to a YOUNG KID of 14 years old! Your Officer Rivieri is acting like nothing more than a "Punk" himself! And, let the officer know that a "Dude" is not "someone who works on a ranch" as he thinks, but in fact is a term for "a city person in the country, with strong connotations of ignorance of rural ways". Your cops need some serious education. The Kid was kind of right about the officer being ignorant. Sorry, but your department looks so BAD with this type of officer out there. Glad all the world sees what type a place your city is. Think people will stay away? And if Rivieri keeps his job, I'm sure Rivieri will never get much beyond riding in that joke of a car for the rest of his cop life now that this video will be following him around FOREVER. And you should tell the guy to drop a few pounds. Being that fat is not good for him. I'm sure that kids will never have respect for people who act like that cop did. And I don't think they should. Do you truly think cops like Rivieri are doing your department and the people of your city a worthwhile service? I would say not.

Deputy Dumps Man from Wheelchair to Check Disability

Tampa Florida Deputy Dumps Man out of Wheelchair to Check Disability!!!

CLICK FOR STORY AND VIDEO

Tampa Florida - The Hillsborough Co. Sheriff's Office held a press conference at 10:30am regarding the deputy who can be seen on video dumping a man in a wheelchair onto the ground.

They've announced that Deputy Charlette Jones has been relieved of her duties without pay pending the outcome of an investigation. She has not officially been terminated.

Jones has been employed by the Hillsborough Co. Sheriff's Office since 1996.

Chief Deputy Joe Docobo watched the video for the first time last night and said he found himself in "disgust" and was "appalled at every level."

Docobo also announced that two corporals and a sergeant involved are now on administrative leave with pay, and the jail supervisor on duty did not have knowledge of the incident.

Wheelchair Dumping Gets Police Suspended
Associated Press
February 13, 2008

TAMPA, Fla. - Four Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies have been suspended after purposely tipping a quadriplegic man out of his wheelchair at a jail, authorities said Tuesday.

Orient Road Jail surveillance footage from Jan. 29 shows veteran deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones, 44, dumping Brian Sterner out of his wheelchair and searching him on the floor after he was brought in on a warrant after a traffic violation.

Sterner said when he was taken into a booking room and told to stand up, Jones grew agitated when he told her that he could not.

"She was irked that I wasn't complying to what she was telling me to do," he told The Tampa Tribune. "It didn't register with her that she was asking me to do something I can't do."

Jones has been suspended without pay, and Sgt. Gary Hinson, 51, Cpl. Steven Dickey, 45 and Cpl. Decondra Williams, 36 have also been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

"The actions are indefensible at every level," Chief Deputy Jose Docobo said. "Based on what I saw, anything short of dismissal would be inappropriate."

He said the officers' actions were an aberration.

A woman who answered Jones' telephone said Jones was unavailable. A message left at a telephone number listed for a Steven Dickey in Tampa was not immediately returned Tuesday night. Listings for Hinson and Williams could not be located.

"That none of the supervisors acted upon what they saw is of great concern," Docobo said. "This is not the norm at the sheriff's office."

Sterner was arrested at his Riverview home and taken to the jail Jan. 29 on a charge of fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, according to records. He posted $2,000 bond and was released Feb 3.

A warrant for Sterner's arrest was issued after an Oct. 25 incident, in which Tampa police stopped him in Ybor City. He was stopped while driving a Mini Cooper that had been fitted with hand pedals and was cited for blocking an intersection.

"My client was stopped that night and was given a traffic citation, so how could he be fleeing and eluding?" Sterner's lawyer John Trevena said. "We're very skeptical about the basis for the charge itself."

Trevena said he hopes authorities investigate the deputies for criminal charges. He said he was "mortified" when he watched the footage.

"I couldn't believe that a detention deputy would be so callous toward an individual, whether they were disabled or not," he said.

On Sterner's MySpace page, the 32-year-old cites interests that include wheelchair rugby, yoga, art shows and documentaries.

Don’t call him “dude.” A Baltimore City police officer is suspended with pay after a video surfaced Saturday on the Web site YouTube.com, depicting him yelling at, pushing and bullying a skateboarder after the teen allegedly disrespected him.

“The entire video raises some issues of appropriate interaction with a citizen,” said Sterling Clifford, city police spokesman.

Anne Arundel County resident Peggy Miller said she couldn’t believe the way the officer treated her son, Eric Bush, 14, a freshman at Northeast High School.

“To be honest, if that officer did that to me, I would have punched him,” said Miller, who first spoke to The Examiner’s television partner WJZ. “He did that to my son because my son called him dude? It’s ridiculous.”

Officer Salvatore Rivieri, a 17-year veteran of the department, was patrolling the Inner Harbor in mid-July when he came upon some skateboarders and told them skateboarding was not allowed there.

According to the video of the incident recently posted on the Internet, Rivieri took offense after one skateboarder, Bush, called him “dude.”

“Don’t get defensive with me, son, because you’ll spend some time in juvenile,” Rivieri said.

“You give that attitude to your father. If you give it to me, I’ll smack you upside the head. ... Shut your mouth! I’m talking!”

The officer then pushed the 5-foot-7-inch, 125-pound teen to the ground and grabbed his skateboard, shouting: “Sit down! I’m not a dude!”

“Eric was scared because once the cop pushed him down, Eric hit his head on the cement,” Miller said. “All he had to do is say, ‘Guys you can’t skateboard here.’ ”

As the teen continued to mumble something below his breath, Rivieri told him, “You disrespected me, this badge and my department. When I’m talking to you, you shut your mouth, and you listen. Obviously your parents don’t put a foot in your butt quite enough, because you don’t understand the meaning of respect.”

Rivieri then told the teen he needed to learn to speak correctly.

An internal affairs investigation is pending, with investigators planning to interview Bush on Saturday.

Arkansas Cop Attacks and Chokes Skaters
Last week, June 21st, we celebrated Go Skateboarding Day. In Hot Springs, Arkansas, a resort town, a group of friends were skateboarding through town, when an officer named Joey Williams attacked them. You can watch the whole video on YouTube - it's pretty shocking. [\i]

I have about three different versions of each original trilogy film on my PS3 and the two he wants to watch most are the unaltered ANH and the Adywan revisited ANH.He has good taste.

Info Wanted: any 'Highlander: The Source'... fan edits in the works?
Time

The worst episodes of the T.V. show out class any scenes from "The Source", and that could be why.

Personally, I would much rather see a fan edit from multiple episodes of the old T.V. show!

It seems that "The Source" is to many "Highlander" Fans what "Galactica 1980" is to "Battlestar Galactica" Fans. Something to be forgotten forever.

"Star Wars: Episode VII"?
Time
This web site claims to have info about a Star Wars Episode VII!

CLICK FOR HERE FOR "EPISODE VII" INFO

I'll take this as just some type of fan rumor.

I don't think Lucas would re-use Bespin in a story as "one of the many Jedi training facilities located all throughout the galaxy."

But then again, I never thought he would rape Star Wars fans the way he did with the PT and the re-made OT.
