BUT STARBUCK AND BALTAR HAD...  UH...  WELL, YOU KNOW.

Incest has been the big thing this season on BSG.  Baltar would be more like extended family. If I am correct, they would not have had the same copy of Daniel as their father.  I'm thing 3 different Daniel models had 1 child each.

R.I.P. Wendy Richard (Dies of Cancer at 65)
Time

Feb. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Actress Wendy Richard, who starred as matriarch Pauline Fowler in the British Broadcasting Corp.’s soap opera “EastEnders” and was in the sitcom “Are You Being Served?”, died early today in London. She was 65.

Richard, who was in the soap for 21 years before leaving in 2006, had been battling breast cancer and died at the Harley Street Clinic with her husband, John Burns, by her side, her agent, Kevin Francis, said in a telephone interview.

“She was incredibly brave and retained her sense of humor to the end,” Francis said.

Richard, born Wendy Emerton in the northeastern English city of Middlesbrough, appeared in some of the best-known U.K. television comedy shows, including “The Likely Lads,” “Dad’s Army” and “On the Buses.” She also featured with Sid James in the “Carry On” films.

In the BBC’s “Are You Being Served?”, which ran from 1973 to 1985, she played department-store sales assistant Shirley Brahms, a role that won her fans around the world.

“She was the daughter I never had, and I shall never stop missing her,” said actress Mollie Sugden, who appeared as Mrs. Betty Slocombe alongside Richard in “Are You Being Served.”

“She lives on in the hearts of so many people who were entertained by her talent and warmed by her charm,” Sugden said in a statement on the BBC Web site. “It is a sad day and may God bless her.”

BBC Director General Mark Thompson said, “Millions of viewers and listeners across the world will mourn her passing today and she will be hugely missed,” according to the statement.

...Oh, wait. This project is still going on, right?

Yes, the Special Longer Version with a huge amount of extras is still on the way.  The edit is DONE, we just need to finish up the menus (We are just using basic menu) and the extras.  As this is a spare time project, it is going to have to take a back seat to other things in my life.  We hope to get this out SOON.

Old-School Creator in Talks for Big-Screen Galactica

Even after Battlestar Galactica ends its run on the Sci Fi Channel next month, it seems as if there will still be more than enough related interplanetary entertainment to take us Earthlings well into the next Cylon War.

Though fans had probably been hoping for a more Edward James Olmos-themed addition to the canon, Universal is in talks with Glen A. Larson, the creator of the original 1970s-era ABC incarnation, to bring BSG to the big screen in a whole new-old way.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, the film would have no connection to the present-day series and would relaunch the familiar story in a new medium, but major characters such as Adama and Starbuck will be present and accounted for.

Ok...so somebody care to explain what, where, who the bloody Cylons are? Because after this weeks episode I haven't a clue who came first!!!

The Egg came first! Or was it the chicken?  I know man, so much info packed into that one episode that I need to see that one again.  Some episodes just spend so much time on minor things, and then we get an episode like this that goes back and bombards us with so much info your head spins.

I went back and re-watched the episode, and Tory gives us the answer to your question at 24:46. "The humans on Cobol made us".

So, it all starts with the Humans on Cobol.  But The humans on Cobol lived with the "gods", so there is still some big questions to how this all started.

It just dawned on me tonight as I was looking through some of my assorted Trek claptrap, that Nimoy, Takei, Nichols, and Koenig all have autobiographies with audio versions. I haven't listened to them in quite a while, but I am pretty sure at least Nimoy and Koenig had some decent discussion of their STTMP experiences. Have you had an opporunity to listen to any of those, Mr. FanFiltration? The versions I have are on audio cassette (which I suspect is the only way they were released back in the late '90s).

This sounds like a great idea, but right now this project is far too overloaded with extras. I'm going to first release my Special Longer edit with most of the extras I have ready now. In a few months I will release my fan edit of The Motion Picture, and at that time we can include more extras such as the one you suggested above.

I'm a huge fan of DVD menus and I'm curious about how your menus will be handled. Will they be animated? Static? Take place on the bridge or in space? Or just a simple poster shot with the only button being 'play'?

I was kind of disappointed with the menu design that was on the Director's Edition so I was curious if you were going to try and top that.

I'm not that great at making menus, so if anyone wants to help out with them...

There were never any 70mm prints made of TMP, only 35m prints.  Some of the 35mm prints had the extra TV footage spliced in for the "Sit Long and Prosper" showings.  Even the print that was pulled to show Robert Wise at the Director's Guild in preparation for The Director's Edition project was one that had these scenes spliced back in.  That print was also missing the overture.

70mm prints were planned initially, but the frenzied post production period didn't allow for them to happen.  A film has to be locked in order to produce the 70mm version because the sound has to be recorded to the mag track.  That may even have to happen in real time.  As we all know, there was barely any time to get the 35mm prints made.

also our fan made William Shatner, Commentary track (audio edit from his Movie Memories audio book),

Nice to see someone took my suggestion. I mentioned it a few times in this forum but nobody seemed to like the idea.

I'm very interested in how you edited this track.

Good luck! The project looks great!

The Movie Memories audio was planed from the project's start, and was listed in the extras section in the original post. That's the only reason why I did not acknowledge you. But I am not too sure that it works very well as a commentary track.  As an audio book, Shatner does a lot of reading in the 3rd person, and his delivery is very wooden.  It needs major editing, and I need to find the time to work on it more.  I have had the 2 audio books on my PC for close to a year in cut up bits.

Just so you guys know I'm still working hard on this set, here is a little preview of what I am planing for the View-Master 3-D section for the extras.

B4 - Spock saves Enterprise secrets!

View-Master Demo 001

This sample image is a low quality example only, the images on the DVD will be

scanned at 9600 dpi, then resized to 440 X 489. These images will be best viewed when in standard 4:3 mode.

The final product will be much cleaner.

The stereoscopic effect of these images will best be seen using a standard pair of red/cyan 3-D glasses.

Don't have 3-D Glasses? Go here for a FREE set > http://www.3dglassesonline.com/how-do-3d-glasses-work/

This project would not be what it is without the help of some very generous forum members.

THANK YOU!

I made some major changes to the core elements of this project over the last few months, so I am reprinting the original project info again here.

"STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE" Preservation by FanFiltration

Fan-Edit Info:

Most of the footage for this version is imported from the DVD sets (but this is a major re-ordering and edit of that footage), and the rest of the missing footage was taken (and enhanced) from a letterbox High Definition broadcast version. Notes:

"Back in 1991 I went to a one time only theatrical showing in New York City of all 5 Trek films (up to that date). They presented the films back to back. They called it "Sit Long and Prosper". The showing of ST:TMP was in 70mm, and had most of the extra footage that is included on the extended pan & scan VHS, but not all of it. Missing was the scene where Kirk goes after Spock, and the Matt painting of the Enterprise is missing. That for sure was one scene that was not included, as well as other small bits and some scenes had been the versions from the theatrical 1979 cut). My letterbox version will include about 99.7% of what can be found on the extended 17 minute VHS. Making it even more inclusive then the officially released letterbox expended print that Paramount has in it's vaults. I'm hoping that this fact will be taken into account when the die-hard Trekkies bring me before the proverbial guillotine. *wink*"

Still in the works:

The FanFiltration Fan-Edit of ST:TMP (Using most of the updated effects footage and sound from the Director's Cut DVD) with an extra feature I am calling "Where Nomad Had Gone Before". It's a FanFiltration re-edit of scenes from a great many of Original Star Trek episodes re-worked to make a new longer version of the episode that inspired the feature film Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

The Incredible Hulk - The Extended Cut
Time
The Deleted Scenes in The Incredible Hulk easily surpass any such bonus feature you've ever seen on Blu-ray. Totaling 42:45, these 23 scenes span the entire film, from the opening in Brazil to the ending, and they're all divided by chapter, so it's easy to navigate from scene to scene. It's obvious that these scenes were all cut early on, for multiple reasons. First, they're all in 480p MPEG-2 format, so their resolution is poor, particularly in light of the incredible quality of the feature film's video. Second, the audio is strictly a two-channel affair. Third, the video is completely free from any semblance of post-production work, as indicated by the poor contrast and lack of color saturation. Many of the earlier scenes, like Banner doing yoga or building his chemistry set, were justifiably cut. But most of the scenes in the middle of the film, such as Banner interacting with Betty's new boyfriend or the General talking with his second in command, would've really added some good context or exposition to the main work. As a result, the last two-thirds of these deleted scenes are a must watch.

I think this season is off to a great start.  I love time travel fiction. Now after seeing the first two episodes, I went back to this season five preview clip from the last comic-con. It makes a lot more sense now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCVCzplSa6A

The idea of a secret video made by the DHARMA Initiative guy and Daniel Faraday was a good one. The idea of framing that video with this kid at Comic-con SUCKED. Why would DARMA have a booth at a Comic-Con? Let's have a bit more verisimilitude please.

Is today's announcement that the theatrical cut of STTMP is coming out on BluRay this summer going to change this project, Mr. FanFiltration? I hope not. Your STTMP Mega Set project is so exciting that I actually created an account on the forum just so I could talk about it :-)

The theatrical cut will NOT be a part of the set.
