all good, ff, I just wanted to show people what they are getting. I am aware of the demand. But I for one was hoping for a better quality. Still, thanks a lot for sharing.
This was a direct Laserdisc to PC transfer, no work was done except edits.
There was a huge demand for me to upload these, so I did.
All five DVD's of this project are now seeding.

If you need the fixed Ifo files, please send me a PM with an email address that can receive a small 139,264 bytes worth of attachments
This is only for people who have the project downloaded from yesterday January 4, 2010. The fixed files are now in the torrent if you started downloading on or after the afternoon of January 5th. I'll only be offering these fixed IFO files for a short time.

Is there a way to add a note to the torrent with those instructions for future downloads?
Yes, the info on how to change the IFO file is in the comments section now.
Fixed and re-listed. You can use my name to find the new listing...
Ok, there is a quick fix.
Download a file called "ifoedit096" from http://www.ifoedit.com/
Unzip the program (a single exe) onto your PC, start it up and chose "Open".
Search your computer for the video_ts folder you downloaded from my torrent and (one at a time) open each inf file. Then find each line of text that has an aspect ration on it that say 4:3, double click on that line and a little menu window will open. you then just change the ration to 16:9 on the 2 or 3 lines in each ifo file and re-save that file under it's original name. That will force the movie back to it's intended 16:9.
Sorry for the hassle. Somehow the unchanged folder got saved to my PC....
I'll try and see if I can fix it. Sorry about that guys.

FF it looks pretty good, but you wouldn't mind if I make my version anamorphic would you,I see your version is still 4:3 LB,so before I watch it I will make the conversion,I could be wrong but I thought you were going for anamorphic release?
OMFG! I thought it was. Somehow I must have not done the the settings in ISO edit correctly.
Re-capture has started.
This morning I got my hands on another Pioneer CLD-D504 LD player at a decent low price. It's the best I can do on my budget, but at least it has an S-video out...
Capturing The Godfather Trilogy 1901 -1980 set and The Godfather Collector's Edition Set via Adobe Premiere (using Mainconcept DV codec).
So this project is a mix of these two laser disc sets. You get all the extra scenes and the chronological story presentation from the Trilogy 1901-1980 (released on Laserdisc in 1992) set, and the "R" rated violence from the Collector's Edition set (released on Laserdisc in 1991).
If anyone has any comments or suggestions for this edit, please feel free to post here.

Thanks, I have been out of the loop for a bit.
I would think that some of you would enjoy this.

I did.
You are very welcome!
After reviewing what we have, we have decided to re-capture the entire video portion of the Chronological Godfather project using much better techniques. At the time of it original creation, I had just started in the Laser-disc to computer hobby, and had only very basic capture encoders and codecs, and such. The project was saved at a very low bit rate, and it looks horrible.
That being said, I have decided to invest in a new L.D. player of the best quality I can obtain, as my old one did not survive my last move.
I'll keep you all updated on this in the forums...
The updated version of project is now released!
"HAPPY NEW YEAR" from FanFiltration.
A few years back, I got hold of a very rare original MPI VHS version of this film. This version contains the long out of print original mono film soundtrack as it was heard in theaters back in 1964. You see, the film producers had at that time been given unique mono mixes of most (if not all) of the film songs. These song mixes differ slightly from both the U.S. and U.K. mono album/single mixes that most fans are used to hearing.
I was always under the impression that the late 80's re-release of the MPI VHS and the 1990's DVD release, had only the film songs replaced with U.K. album stereo mixes, but maintained the mono speaking track (albeit cleaned up). This is the version where during the song "If I fell" George leans up against his amplifier, it tips over, yet does not make a sound (as it does in the original mono film mix).
The big problem with the 1964 original mono soundtrack is that the songs sound muddy, and very distorted. I believe that is why the song mixes had been replaced during the late 1980's restoration. The Criterion LD (that I also own) has the stereo song restoration soundtrack, but keeps the open-matte. The new Miramax DVD has the originally intended theatrical aspect ratio, but they replaced the 1980's restoration stereo song mixes with common U.K. album mono mixes, not the original film version mono mixes that most likely have long since vanished from the United Artists vaults (or what is left of them).
The new DVD did add a newly re-created sound effect of George's amp falling over on top of the song.
And another thing is, the MPI DVD has some horrible video noise and digital artifacts all over it.
I do have the original mono film soundtrack preserved on digital PCM files (dubbed from my VHS), and would be willing to supply it to anyone wanting to take on a "A Hard Days Night" project.
Just PM me...
Edit
The best to you all.

I've really been enjoying the stereo set. As a serious Beatles fan and collector I've only been listening to the mono mixes of "Help!", "Rubber Soul", "Revolver", "S.P.L.H.C.B.", "Magical Mystery Tour" and "The Beatles" for at least the last 12 years.
The crisp fresh sound of the stereo "Please Please Me" album just blew me away. I know that most people feel that is the most dated, sappy, and corny of the albums, but it has always been one of my personal favorites.
As for the price of these sets, I'm disgusted. I do think they are inflating the price of these recordings a bit much for what you get. I could see a Re-mixed set being at this asking price, but not for just remasters and a bunch of cardboard that scratches disks when you take them out and put them away. The Capitol Years sets had a much better value by including stereo and mono mixes on the same disks. The only problem I have with that two versions on one disk format, is when you want to play multiple albums in chronological order on a multiple disk CD player. You have to ether listen to each album twice, or program the player. What a pain...
Very Close.
Just found this at "Ain't It Cool" [Published on Monday, September 14, 2009]:
Well, rejoice. It's for real. Here's Harrison Ford talking to the French newspaper Le Figaro about the status of INDY 5:
"The story for the new Indiana Jones is in the process of taking form. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work. If the script is good, I'll be very happy to put the costume on again."
Larry Gelbart was the creator (adapted television version), head writer, and a producer (first four seasons) of "M*A*S*H*". Arguably one of the best shows ever produced for American prime-time television. He was also known for being a writer on the films "Tootsie" and "Oh, God!" among others.
May he rest in peace.

I've never understood if the nomenclature was standardized or not.
1 VAF + 6 passes
Is that how people usually count? I always figured it was the 1+5 number since CCE shows 6-passes during encoding that way.
I just go by the setting selection as it in the CCE encoder options. If I select 6 pass, it makes a VIF, and then does 6 passes at 7178 kbps.
