you're an idiot and you're nuts.

What the hell?! What's with the venom and the name calling?

Agreed. Warbler: WTF?

It's all good.  These issue within this thread do dwell us a lot of emotion. Warbler has been having some issues with a beloved pet that is very very ill.

(see random thoughts thread)

Emotions can run hi in any of us during stressful times in our life.  Please do not lay into the guy.  I did not take anything to heart.  At times I can be a bit too pressing on subjects that are hot button issues to some.

Peace to you all!

Am I dead yet?

The End of the World may not be a physical end, but a spiritual shift.  Like the band R.E.M. once sang. "It's the End of the Word as We Know It, and I feel fine".

I just watched the film "Apocalypto", and that showed an end to a civilization, by the introduction of alien visitors that changed the lives of the indigenous peoples of North, Central, and South America forever. It was to them, the end of their world. So don't get stuck in thinking that the "end of the world" will bring visual destructive manifestations on a biblical scale all at once.  The change of things may not be felt by everyone at the same moment, and it may be veiled to most at the spiritual level.

So I'm dead, then?

The real question may just be, have you ever truly lived?

Something I hadn't thought about until now, is there is surely going to be lots and lots of before-the-end-of-the-world-shagging.

Man: [emerges from closet, fixing his tie]
Woman: Will I ever see you again?
   Man: Sure, baby. Next meltdown.

STOP! STOP!

Now you just stop that kind of talk! You are upsetting my delicate sensibilities!

Hey now!  I liked Generations and First Contact, and while there was some action, there was more to them than that.  ST II, III, V, and VI were pretty action oriented as well, I thought.

The original 60's series was an action show.  Kirk had some type of hand to hand in most of the episodes, but TNG was much much more cerebral in it's focus. Picard hardly ever had a hand to hand combat in the TNG episodes, and the rest of the crew mostly did the point and shoot thing.

I have a question.

Being that the world is ending in less then a day, and I have one 19.9 FL OZ bottle of spring water, A packet of Ramen (chicken flavor) soup, some crackers, and a tin of Sardines, Would I be considered one of them dooms day preppers?  Just asking, because I don't want to spend the last few seconds of existence in some government detention center you know.
