STAR WARS: The Torrents thread
Time
The "ISOMIX" - Star Wars is up now on myspleen - DONT FORGET to DONATE!!!

So where does the video from the ISOmix come from? A preexisting rip? TR or Gonzo? Or a completely new one?

How is the audio quality on the isolated score? Because basically that's the one thing I'm really interested in.

And Rikter, next time you need to host some images, use Imageshack.us!

I am not saying your copies are bootlegged but that is the only time i have seen it happen as it didn't happen on my originals. And the fact that you only have the angles option of 1/3 is rather puzzling as the dvd comes in five different languages not 3. Email me if you wish to discuss it further.

Idea: About De-SEizing the DVDs... We need to Vote on Changes!

There is a need to preserve the original pre-1997 versions, and that means accepting that the original version sometimes doesn't look as good as the SEs. It's not supposed to. The old effects, the matte lines, the uncoloured lightsabers, etc, are to be celebrated as what was originally filmed.

Choosing your own favourite changes to keep in the films would just make it an unofficial mixture, worse than either Originals or SEs. They wouldn't be the Originals, and they wouldn't be the SEs either. They'd just be a fan mix.

If there is to be a project to make an Original version using as much DVD footage as possible, and filling in all changed scenes with LD footage, then I would prefer it to be totally accurate to the Originals.

I like some of the new effects (and just about all the enhanced matte lines and whatnot) but I have to agree with this.

MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)

I thought most of the dialogue was pretty good, but there were some areas where you simply changed around what the Nemoidians originally said. To be honest, I didn't have a huge problem with the Nemoidians, though I can see why their accent might be a troublesome spot for some people.

Jar Jar running away from the balls yelling "Oh Shit Oh Shit" is a little over the top as well as "What a dump".

It's a moot and rather ridiculous point. These attempts to redefine, much less negate Lucas' ownership of the films miss the point entirely.
Let's say Bill Gates goes out and buys the Mona Lisa and just about every classic piece of art available, and then burns them all.

There would be other prints available.

Maybe rather than use VE on laserdisc use DVE on DVD, it might end up looking better.

Sounds like a good idea.

Things you LIKED about the Special Editions?
Time
Inspired by the prequel thread.

If you hate everything about the Special Edition and hate how "George Lucas raped your childhood", this thread is not for you.

-I like the last revised Dewback shot and the Dewback outside the Cantina. The dewbacks look great as far as I'm concerned, but the new shots feel have a "LOOK AT ME" feel to them.
-The new Sandcrawler shot looks great.
-The new Mos Eisley shot from a distance looks much better than the original.
-I like how they removed that orange blob from under the landspeeder on the way to the Cantina.
-The revised Yavin base looks really nice.
-Ewok song at the end of Jedi is infinitely better than the godawful Nub Nub song in the original. Jedi's ending finally has an air of respectibility it never had before.
