Well no I would start with Luke already on Dagobah.

Yoda dies after finishing his job.

Well like the Falcon enters Yavin IV's orbit with the following shot as it comes in to land, that's how I would like to see Jedi start with Luke entering Dagobah's orbit, he lands and then it can carry on to the existing footage with Luke and Yoda. That way I do think with Yoda dying at the beginning might lend more weight for the movie not to mention another Jedi passing on.

Or do you still prefer to have the movie start off with Vader boarding the Death Star like it originally had?

I suggested it was convoluted because it's not Luke's original plan.

Luke stays on Dagobah to become a fully trained Jedi Knight after learning his lesson from rushing off in the previous episode.

Leia is tired of waiting and rushes to rescue Han herself after convincing Chewie.

Luke arrives at Ben's hut (where they were planning their rescue) only to find Leia gone.

Threepio explains.

Ben's ghost turns up and explains to him that Leia is his sister (she has that Skywalker reckless streak when it comes to people she loves).

Luke then has to plan a rescue attempt for the rescue attempt.

I like that idea too. Will the existing footage of Luke with Yoda be enough though? Perhaps the start of Jedi can actually be Luke's X-Wing entering Dagobah's orbit, and then continuing on to the existing footage. After the Opening Crawl finishes the camera can pan either up or down to reveal the planet as Luke passes by from out of shot.

The next scene to follow could be the original intro of the movie, but tweaked a little with the Executor replacing the random Star Destroyer. I suppose the Imperial March could be used while we see the Executor reveal but can it transition into the music soon to follow - you know the awesome music as Vader's shuttle makes it's way to the Death Star? ;-)

And then cue to Boussh delivering Chewie to Jabba the Hutt on Tattooine. Now the hard thing to do now I think is actually having a good scene to introduce the vile gangster seeing as the Droids meeting Jabba scene may come as a little redundant perhaps? I guess you can reuse the existing footage of Jabba from when the Droids meet him. And if only there were a shot of Boussh and Chewie at the Palace door instead too. Additionally a nice transitionary shot would be Han in carbonite segueing to....

A scene where we could have a shot of Luke's X-Wing entering Tattooine's orbit and landing near Ben's Hut. And then the ensuing scene after Luke discovers that Leia has already gone ahead without him that Ben suddenly appears hence the revelation that she's his sister (superimposed Dagobah footage). And from that moment on Luke could sense that Leia will soon be in danger too. Cue to LeiaBoussh rescuing Han. And following Han reuniting with Chewie in jail, along comes a Skywalker....

And I reckon it would be cool if Ady could hire an Actor Double for Luke's scenes in Ben's Hut, and I guess since Ady intends on creating a new matte for Ben's Hut in ANHR:SE, then Jedi could be a place to start.

Some have mentioned that as Luke enters the Palace that he shouldn't Force Choke those Gamorrean Guards either. Well I think they should leave it in there as I believe it's like a trait he inherited from his father, starting to get a little cocky with his newfound abilities etc.

Well that's how I'd like to see Jedi carried out from the beginning. And I suppose later during the Rebel Briefing scene, certain moments needs to be edited such as Luke's late arrival and reunion with Leia which can easily be removed. :-)

Heck even that's just as good. I like it! Still it is Ady's decision at the end of the day and I'm sure whatever he decides on will still look good. And I suppose seeing Vader as a backdrops isn't all that necessary either. Nice work Sky! :)

Luke burns Vader.....we cut to the party....everyone having a good time....Leia looks off in the distance, and walks off to investigate, Han, Chewie and co. follow her. We see Luke walking away from the funeral pyre, Leia walks up to him...they share a few words, maybe Leia tries to get him to come join the party...everyone else arrives just as Luke makes it clear that he'll be leaving. They all say their goodbyes, and Luke turns and walks towards his X-Wing, R2 wheels after him dutifully....but Luke notices, stops, bends down and speaks to him then rises again and walks away. R2 stays for a moment, watching Luke go, then turns and heads back to stand next to Leia, his new owner, and 3P0, his friend. Cut to a shot of Luke in the cockpit of his X-Wing....he smiles, we know everything is going to be ok, he takes off.....Han & Leia & co. rejoin the party. Last shot is either of the party, or of Luke's X-Wing flying towards the camera with Endor behind him. All or most of this would be sans dialogue, with music in its place.

This would have been GOLD......but sadly....we got the group portrait.

I'd be on-board with that idea too. There wouldn't need to be dialogue indeed. The reaction on Endor between Han and Leia could act more towards Lando and the Falcon instead perhaps.

While the Victory Celebration music will be replaced I can somehow picture that into such a closing scene. And I agree Yub Nub would feel totally out of place too.

his is another bag I have about some people who lambast the PT (not saying it doesn't deserve it mind).

Lots of the shots that people pick out as fake look CGI are largely physical models with some CGI elements in them.

Some of that goes down to the extreme cartoonish nature of some of those CGI elements that make the whole show look like a Playstation cut scene.

That's more a design thing than a technical thing.

Even when you have an interesting design (like the basic battledroids) they look delicate, diminutive and plastic which is where Lucas seems to want to go with them story wise but them renders them not menacing (ironically seeing as they debut in TPM) and reduces the emotional impact they can leave.

Early drawings had the same design scaled up so they were 8ft tall with a brushed steel look.

They were based on the Epstein's Rock Drill which looks much more menacing and solid :

To some extent the PT needs it's ethos rejigged much more than it needs it's CGI replaced.

It's really unfortunate that George made those Battledroids so comedic and stupid. It takes everything away from how dangerous they really could be. It's like as if he borrowed from the Daleks voice-wise too. At least they were menacing and they even scared my Dad as a kid too lol! Heck even while the Super Battledroids may be more dangerous they still look goofy. And those Commando Droids on The Clone Wars may still come close but again, no cigar!! If anything the voices should probably be removed altogether. And I hate to admit it but the Battledroids talking on TCW does crack me up, though it should never really have happened in the first place!! :p

To date I must say the T-800 Terminator machines of the future are still the most intimidating machines next to the T-1000 perhaps. What else comes close?

An idea I had for ROTJ:R.

Wondering about when they make their way from the battle of Sarlaac and the not forgetting the Droids line. It has been talked about before whether Artoo could end up using his rocket boosters to glide across to the skiff after he knocks Threepio into the sand below. Perhaps there could be a trick where Luke uses the force to carry him aboard or something just to eliminate the slapstick effect?

"Star Wars: Bounty Hunter - Beyond The Game 2.0" 3-DVD by Galactus + MoveAlong + ThrowgnCpr ** NOW AVAILABLE! **

Had no idea about this project and I did give this game a try back when it came out but never got to play through the entire thing. Might have to pick up an old Gamecube copy at some stage through Ebay or something (I wonder if the WiiU will be doing a Virtual Console for GC games though).

Nice to learn of the release coming soon though - can't wait! :)

Worst Edit Ideas
Time

- Bail Organa, Jar Jar and Bail's wife's corpses flying out into space at the moment of the explosion.

- Darth Vader interrupting "NO" after each officer's suggestions during the Death Star conference scene.

- Luke and Leia kissing before Leia learns he's his brother at the Ewok Village (eew). :p

- ET makes a cameo during the Rebel Briefing Scene on ROTJ.

- Darth Vader says "Yippee!"

- Other Jedi Force Ghosts appear around Luke during the Endor celebrations. Just blurs from Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Ahsoka Tano and Shaak Ti etc dancing around with the Ewoks. Mace Windu does a Spinerooni! :D

- Captain Rex comes out of nowhere to shoot down a few Stormtroopers eventually getting a little reluctant assistance from then-Commander Cody! :p

- Asajj Ventress to Obi-Wan (tracks him down on Tattooine): "I'm carrying your baby." - okay that was lame!!!

I wonder if Ady could hire some actors to play holographic officers stationed on other ships (like how a few of the Jedi Council members were not actually present at the Jedi Temple for example) to make the numbers look more convincing. Perhaps some can say a few more lines to explain the threat more clearly or something. Surely with the audio being remixed the pacing wouldn't be altered that much....

Heck I'm sure Ming and his mates etc could do the deed like they did while participating in the Hoth battle lol. ;)

It's funny how I actually found Jedi to be my favourite of the Trilogy coming from a kid of 8 years. I never even came to realise how flawed the film is about 25+ years later. I now agree that Empire is indeed the superior film, and agreed that Jedi needs a LOT of work to make it more consistent with the rest of the Trilogy. George most certainly sold out come Jedi and Richard Marquand certainly didn't help matters either. And how rushed the finished product turned out to be too. I mean look at the continuity errors of the Space Battle for example (yes we're all aware of that lol). Looking forward to seeing how ROTJ:R will eventually turn out. I wonder with much of the ideas proposed, will Ady integrate into his edit.

Once again I will gladly make a number of healthy donations towards the cause. :)
