STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

Just had a another viewing of ANH:R and one thing I'm wondering is the SE addition of the Millennium Falcon flying out of Docking Bay 94. Would it be possible with your 1/72 model Ady if that could be used to replace the CGI Falcon in that shot? I reckon it would look a little more authentic that way IMHO.

Back when Ady announced what formats ESBR will be released in, I thought to myself okay, time to pick up an external Bluray burner which I still look forward to utilising come release date. Ended up with one of those Samsung external drives which has really come in handy especially since I recently picked up a laptop which doesn't have any optical drives either. So now it's release date waiting time. I remain patient. :-)

I sorta like the idea of ROTJ with a vague ending. Maybe the victory celebrations can be omitted altogether. Looking back now I do think they're rather pointless and shoehorning Naboo was lame at best. Agreed about Mos Eisley and why it needed to be shown. Did the Empire really have much of a hold on Tattooine and much of the Outer Rim Territories?! Maybe much of the celebrations oughta be left on Endor however I'm not opposed to a Coruscant riot though. ;-)

Taking our money?! It's our choice if we wish to donate to Adywan's cause as we know it's going to be something worthwhile, and the wait matters not - as he does have a life! It's his choice what he does so respect that at least! Seems to me like you let those clown podcasters at MakingStarWars.net decide your latest post jeez!

well, yes we DO need another Jedi to mask the fact that "Anakin" is Lukes father ...

but there is one other thing, that Obi-Wan or Leia mentions, that never got made or is seen onscreen: how he helped Bail Organa and fought with him side by side (in the "Clone Wars") - THAT should have been in "Episode 3" and more interaction with his pupil(s)

the first thing could be achieved by inserting another actor, the later would ask to remove Jimmy Smits and cast a new Bail Organa (not sure if there is enough material to support interaction with Obi-Wan)

Maybe Leia's "side by side" can be removed?!

This is my first post. I apologize for the stream of consciousness style of my proposal. From what I have witnessed of Adywans work, I believe that majority of these ideas are achievable. These are my thoughts on what I believe should be the first act of Episode II. I'm currently working on Act II.

STAR WARS: EPISODE II

THE MISSING PLANET

ACT 1

The rule of the Galactic Senate is under threat. Former Jedi Master Count Dooku has rallied several thousand star systems with the intention of declaring war on the Republic.

Despite the protests of many in the Senate the Supreme Chancellor has commissioned the creation of a CLONE ARMY to aide to aid the limited number of Jedi Knights in this time of unrest.

As Senator Amidala prepares to embark for the capitol, Obi-Wan Kenobi journeys to the clone facilities of Kamino, leaving his apprentice Anakin Skywalker to protect the former Queen of Naboo…

PAN DOWN

Obi-Wan’s star fighter arrives at Kamino. Several Republic Star Destroyers orbit the planet. Obi-Wan is asked to identify himself, which he does. He’s instructed to land.

The first meeting in Palpatine’s Office, at the beginning of the scene add a hologram recording of Dooku on the desk. “It’s time to start over” using dialogue and footage from deleted scene. Finish with hologram informing Palpatine and the Jedi that Obi-Wan has made contact with Kamino.

Obi-Wan meets Lama Su then straight to the inspection of the clones. If possible change the décor of Kamino to give it a more OT Imperial look. Imperial looking non-clone officers walking around.

Naboo, Padme’s star ship sits on a landing platform on the lake near her villa. I believe there is concept art of this. Artoo and Threepio fill us in on any necessary exposition.

Anakin stands on the verandah, overlooking the lake/ ship. Padme appears, this scene plays out with some obvious cuts. “Jedi don’t have nightmares” and “I’ll come with you.” Anakin decides to abandon his posts as Padme’s protector in order to rescue his mother.

Obi-Wan meets Jango (helmeted always). No discussion of Coruscant.

Anakin arrives on Tatooine at the Lars Homestead in his star fighter. Re-dub protocol droid (use original idea of sleazy car salesman Threepio?) Meets Owen, Beru (who will need to be re-filmed) and Cliegg Lars. Learns of his mothers death (not missing). Owen participates more in the conversation. Replace Padme’s close up with ones of Beru. From discussion to Funeral, no dialogue from Anakin.

Senator Amidala arrives on Coruscant and her ship explodes. Add Threepio to the group walking down the ramp. Decoy dies.

Obi-Wan reports to the old folks home about a bounty hunter being the source of the clones. Mace Windu “Where is your apprentice?” Obi-Wan “On Naboo. Escorting Senator Amidala,” using dialogue from later in the film Mace and Yoda exchange a worried glance.

The Lars homestead, we hear Owen’s voice calling out for Anakin. He is no where in the homestead, not the garage, kitchen or courtyard. Owen Lars stands scanning the horizon with his binoculars.

Extended montage of Anakin searching through the desert. No duel of fates. Something closer to Padme’s ruminations. Anakin meets the Jawa’s at the sandcrawler (possibly my favourite shot of the prequels) He then comes across a moisture farm in flames. He kneels down and inspects the bantha tracks.

Anakin, hood up, approaches the Tusken Camp he ignites his light saber (New footage, the obvious back lot of the Tusken camp, and the shot of Anakin jumping off the cliff face are atrocious.) The sound of the howling Tuskens echoing off canyon walls turns into that of-

Obi-Wan’s starfighter engines traveling through hyperspace. Use footage from Asteroid chase where Obi-Wan looks concerned, only now he is concerned with a disturbance in the force. He aks R4 to contact Anakin. He’s out of range. Obi-Wan ponders this. We hear some dialogue of Qui-Gon saying Obi-Wan’s name. “Qui-Gon?” Obi-Wan asks r4 to if they are picking up any transmissions (not sure how yet). R4 replies negative. Obi-Wan “Curious.” The star fighter continues through hyperspace.

Owen, Beru and Cliegg watch as Anakin’s star fighter lifts off into the sky. Owen looks concerned. Beru “What is it?” Owen “I’m not sure.” Anakins star fighter disappears into the heavens. Owen walks across to his speeder.Beru "Where are you going?" Owen “The Toschi Station.” Don’t be too long. I won’t.

Anakin’s star fighter docks with its hyper ring, Anakin looks out into space. Silence. The ship makes the jump into hyperspace.

Owen stands overlooking the slaughtered Tusken camp. The bodies of Tusken men woman and children litter the landscape.

I really like that, but how about changing the "Missing" in the title to something more appealing like "Uncharted" or something?

I do hope Ady will be as OCD when it comes to making the Executor bridge in ROTJ look as good as the one in ESB (what is it with 80's sequels and buggering up hand-me-down sets?).

Well, that's the real trick, isn't it. ;) But that bridge is going to be almost impossible to get it to match the better ESB one, thanks mainly to this guy stuck down the bottom, here....

This will be extremely tough, but it might be a matter of cutting out some of the actors (such as the one walking on the plank) and using the bridge shots in EMPIRE (while creating new mattes for outside the bridge windows). I know that is definitely easier said than done, but it might be an easier option than trying to ply away things in the original shot(s).

In fact, I think it would be interesting to go back and watch JEDI with full frame TVs in mind. To judge the above shot on set design, it doesn't make any sense - not only is the scanner guy sitting on the edge of the gangplank, but the wall to the bridge entrance is located 5 to 10 feet from where it should be. BUT, if you see this as framed for a 4:3 TV set, it makes perfect sense. I wonder if there other scenes that are designed for (the then current) 4:3 TV frame if you were to crop the 2.35:1 image down.

Could there be a way of possibly taking a shot of the ESB bridge while omitting actors here and there while possibly including extras. Although using Admiral Piett and the officers he's interacting with, that's the big challenge methinks. At least the background looking out into the field of battle could be easily adjusted.

I guess I'm the only one who likes the idea... He IS the only main OT character that doesn't get a nod.

I have a feeling the awful Chewie/Yoda scene will be removed. Assuming it is, seems like the Han/Chewie backstory would be a pleasant sideplot that could be added to all three of the PT films - it would allow Ady to cut as much as needed, and give him entirely new sequences to film to fill the gaps and give it a SW film length.

I know it would totally mess of the EU, but just imagine building up Han as this kid growing up in the underbelly of Coruscant. Occasionally you could mix him into the crowd in a few scenes with Anakin in it. (the bar, hiding behind another of the pillars in Ep 3 after they crash land - I always thought Padme looked far too suspicious being the only one skulking around).

You could even show him and Lando gambling, show him getting the Falcon at then end and him and Chewie flying off in it for the first time...

I'm kinda hoping that we may get to see Han meet Chewie in the upcoming Rebels series. If they do consider it, I'd say they all appear later on in the show and we could also get to see Lando as well! Infinite possibilities I say but to see a young kiddy version of him in the PT:R, I wouldn't recommend it.

I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of Luke's X-Wing entering Tattoine's orbit and landing near Ben's Hut or something like that. Don't know if the Falcon would have been parked there either. Oddly enough if both ships were parked out in the middle of nowhere, there would have needed to be security present just so the Sandpeople don't raid them. Perhaps it's better that the ships were left in Mos Eisley after all then. Now this is of course whether Luke's visit to Yoda does end up being pushed to the start of the film however.
