The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

Right now the look of the PT seems more like 50's B-movie retro deco. rounded and shiney. The OT is more industrial, everything is not meant to be stylish, but useful. They didn't build ships to be pretty, they feel a lot like the 60's and 70's muscle cars, sharp angled and tough.

I don't think the architecture/design of the universe in PT is bad, but really they could use more of a Star Wars look to them. Angel's mockups do that, they keep the rounded look, yet still have that industrial charm that the OT gave us.

I been thinking about the "I love you", "I know" reprise in ROTJ.

As much as it's great to be reminded of the classic scene in the other better film it currently kills tension and drama.

Leia is shot and for a few seconds it looks serious but then she throws a goof ball and comes out guns a blazing.

It would make more sense if the Imperials surrounded the bunker, Han and Leia have their ESB lines reversed and Leia goes ape with her gun only to get shot and injured.

An AT-ST turns up and it looks like curtains for our heroes and then the hatch opens and we see it's Chewie, giving Han a plan.

That way the tension builds up to a climax instead of wobbling back and forth as it currently does.

agreed. Kershner would have made Leia's injury a serious matter.

Spaceballs 2010: The Re-Revisited Special Edition ON HOLD
Time

It is a OT.Com inside joke LOL. I probably won't start until after the holidays, but I would like people to leave suggestions of what they would like to see.

Right now the film already feels alot like the special edition, in the fact that the transfer was bad (surprisingly salvageable though)

The colours seem to be over-cooked. I really want to make this look the best possible.

Maybe there should be dueling edits. This "Revisited" type actually well made edit and a hastily put-together "cash-grab" with bad color tints and farting cgi cutout Rontos (nothing needs to be 3D, really, just look out of place). Or maybe the same person can do both?

I could cut out the ronto from TPM and paste it somewhere in the middle of the desert.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I would like to see him do some work on Jason and the Argonauts. I watched 2 days ago and thought that Talos needed some motion blur.

Of course not as much as these guys

That film looked really good for it's age, these pictures do not represent the quality of what I saw on television.

AVATAR and 3D in general....
Time

This film looks like it has a 50% chance of being really good, or really bad. Pretty good numbers for today's films. Most films I would say have a 5% chance of being good.

I don't give up on films, some films will catch me off guard sometimes.

Now this film looks serious, give it a chance, or don't.

The CGI looks well executed, at least they worked their asses off to get the CGI to blend better than any other film.

Possible news of new Star Wars EU movies
Time

I kind of liked Ford in Six days Seven nights. It was the first time in almost a decade he smiled and said funny lines.

Harrison Ford is a very hilarious man too. All of the times he has been on Conan O'Brien, have been the funniest things he has ever done.

Six Days Seven Nights was a Harrison Ford film 100%. That was the same Ford we saw in ESB and Indy.

About a new Star Wars movie, I think there's a strong possibility for it to simply be the pilote episode of the new live series on the big screen. Like they did for Clone Wars. I only hope it will not turn to be cheap looking.

I wish Star Wars was treated like Star Trek. They should try different generations of characters. Even the EU doesn't have any depth to it, because they seem to stick to Luke and Han.

I would like to see a new directors take on the Star Wars Universe.

Those look pretty cool, although I can't see the second half of your first pic. It is cut off and now I'll have to wait until tommorow to see it on my computer. Now obviously between scenes there would need to be paning shots of Coruscant. That would make it feel more like they are there. I'm not that crazy about the idea, but I think it would be easy to do and take away some of the dull scenery in ROTJ.

You can see the full picture by right clicking on it.

Here's a rough and ready set of mockups to illustrate the basic mobile palace idea and for Coruscant fans the first two are in take off mode (I know the scale is all wrong but the idea being that the throne room is like the gondola of an airship).

Floating Palace

It has a cyberpunk and a steampunk feel to it. Great mockup!!!

Adywan, just looking at the X-wing, chewbacca is hugging, makes your colour correction the best I have seen. The reds are so vibrant and realistic now. The skin tones. You got rid of the blues but it still looks incredibly cold.

It is worth the wait just for that brief clip.

I'll say it again, I think the original colors for laser blasts, text, and Shwartz rings should be kept the original colors. The way the director intended it? ;-)

As a piss-take on the SE DVDs it might be a laugh to have the green Schwartz sometimes blue for no reason and the orange turn pink.

Applying bizarre tints which can be switched off by a inserted 'switch off tint' button might be a nice added joke.

Yogurt suddenly becoming CGI and doing cartwheels and then turning back into Brookes and adding a rubbish looking Pizza The Hut into the beginning of the film might work too.

Is making a window disappear mid sequence asking too much?

Well, I absolutely cannot do any CGI, but I can change things enough to take the piss.

I am thinking of just making it a parody of ANH:R. I want to be able to watch this with pride. It would be funny to have horrible tinting, but I don't really want to do that.

I really want to make this film cleaner and more up to the standards of ANH:R.

This is kind of an edit for Ady. Maybe in the future, I mock the SE, but I really want to improve things.

This will be the same Spaceballs we all remember, just more streamlined.
