Facebook ruins meaningless social interactions
Time

I said that about Cellphones about 6 years ago. Cellphones turned people into douchebags. Little kids walking around with their fancy cellphones like little unsocial assholes.

When I was a kid, Cellphones were huge. Those things were only used by rich business people.

Facebook is boring, but I do have a page. Myspace is garbage and I will never EVER use Twitter.

Pandorum

It had some good moments, but most of it seemed like a Copy and Paste.

Several things were rip offs. It stole several pages from Alien, and Titan A.E.

In the end, if you like spaceships and great visuals, this film will make your pants tight. I did like the fact that many of them were not what you would call "Badasses"

In the end, Technicians navigating there way through a monster infested spaceship was already done and it was done very well in 79.

The monsters even seemed to act like the ones in Alien. They even did some things that would be censored in any other movie. I am gonna flat out say, that it was the first orgy in space. Then somewhere near the end of the film you can't help but say "What?"

Daybreakers

Yeah, I watched it. I will say that the concept was purely original, and it even showed some great potential. Then it said screw our great idea, and it turned into another monster movie. There were so many opportunities to make a masterpiece, but no. They ignored them.

I never expect any good out of a vampire movie, but this one shined bright in concept. It was as if Stanley Kubrick had started working on a film, and then somewhere in the middle, George Lucas took over and took a shit on the story.

Yes that is true. I will do as told, but I will be looking for a break in there defenses. If it comes down to hurting people, I will take a bullet if I have to just to make sure nobody else gets hurt. It's kind of similar to, If your plane is hijacked, would you risk you life to save the people on the plane.

I feel the same way you do. I'd gladly take a bullet to protect those around me. But when it comes to material possessions, it isn't worth taking a bullet or a knife.

And it is a lot easier to be heroic when you are just talking about being in that situation than it is when you are actually in it. When that sort of situation is on you, your blood tends to turn ice cold and your limbs to rubber. A few deep breaths and a couple of moments to clear your thoughts and sort out your priorities and you can get over that feeling. I've been in that kind of situations a few times. Always made it out with me and those around me unscathed. You just kind of have to gauge their behavior. If they look like they are out to hurt someone, plan to make a move; if they seem like they just want your money, let them have it. Not worth a potential trip to the hospital.

With the sort it sounds like you might be dealing with, I highly doubt they'd be the type to break into an occupied home or not do much more than make threats if they did. Sounds like you have a pretty solid security system too.

I wouldn't have thought they would have been as cheap as this one was, but it was a discount special. I figured a security system would run upwards of $800.

Your confidence is kind of worrisome. How does anyone learn how to "disarm anybody"? No matter how good you are at anything, there is always someone out there who is better at it. Your robber could very well be bragging about having learned how not to be disarmed by anybody to some of his friends at this very moment. Besides, if he has a gun and you're standing a few feet away from him, there is no disarming him, period.

Yes that is true. I will do as told, but I will be looking for a break in there defenses. I know my alarm is good because I opened the backdoor without turning it off and everybody woke up pissed.

Yeah, but that was a non-forced entry via a regular obvious entrance. Any alarm will handle that. If your livlihood involves breaking into places you are not suppose to be, you learn how to handle things like alarms. Most small time crooks who don't want to risk it will avoid places with security systems, but there are ways around them. For example, are all your windows hooked up to alarms? If not, then you have a good number of safely breachable points right there.

My security system, has window and door sensors. There is no getting into my house without making noise. My security system has an alternate power source, for the possibility that they cut the power. I opened my window the other day, to let the breeze come through, and it went off. If somebody is to successfully break in, I will not be home. I have some material things in my house, but they are just things. All of my doors are steel, with steel frames. I don't have any access points in the house that aren't alarmed. Not even a chimney.

On the good side of things, most of the robbery reports around here where "small time" criminals. The kind that drive away fast if they see an ADT, or Brinks sign. The biggest part of them were drug related. My neighbors were robbed, because they didn't have a security system. This is a small town in Tennessee we are talking about, not a city full of professional burglars.

I don't know why, but I have seen more suspicious activity in this year than any.

Just a little around Christmas, A man was driving around the neighborhood really slow. Then he stopped by the house adjacent to us, after a good minute, he drove off. Then a couple of days later, I was smoking on the back porch with my sis and her boyfriend. We were having a good conversation and then we saw a man in black running down the street IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. We then saw him coming back up, only this time, He walked right into my neighbor's house. I watched curiously, and saw a light come on, then off, and then another one the same. It continued, until I flat out said, let's call the cops. They came, and that is all I heard of it. Now, we aren't rolling in dough, but our neighbors are. Outside of our neighborhood is where 5 years ago, the most meth in the country was made. Nothing to bad, but that isn't all

Earlier this evening, my sister went to get ice at the gas station for me to make daiquiris. She said there was a big creepy looking rapist van at the pumps that looked about like this:

She said that the windows were completely tinted, not so much that she couldn't tell they were looking at her. Apparently he followed her everywhere she went. The dumb thing she did was drive home. She said he stopped next to the close to our house and sat for a while, then drived off.

I don't have to much to worry about because, I have a very good security system that was installed recently, and I just don't care what somebody does to me because I have learned how do disarm anybody, but I can't help but think of what might happen when I am in Kentucky later this week.

We do have some of those police officers that will drive out of a tree just to get there man. That is one thing to think about. I know my alarm is good because I opened the backdoor without turning it off and everybody woke up pissed. .

Anybody else have any suspicious activity going on in their neck of the woods?

Edit: btw, I have to thank you again for your first comments in the thread, what I'll do in a next post. You'll understand soon...

So what, you wouldn't even notice unless you already knew about it and paused the movie at that exact moment.

I think this is getting a bit *too* nitpickish.

Fixing continuity errors and bad FX is one thing, but now you're in Lucas territory.

Hey, Lucas adds shit. He doesn't fix anything.
