STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I think Star Wars should be completely devoid of any transparent, floating, 3D projection computer interfaces. I cannot stress how much I HATE those things. It seems like every science fiction movie that's come out in the last decade just falls back on that concept, with no attempt at originality. I'll take a computer like Mother from Alien over any TF3DPCI (like my new acronym?) any day of the week... at least it felt like a real computer.

I don't know if Ady can do anything to remove/tone down some of those floating GUIs in the prequels, but I'd cringe if one found its way into the OT. As far as I'm concerned, holographic technology in the Star Wars universe should be limited to visual projections only (i.e., recordings, schematics) not user interfaces like in the above picture.

I wasn't really showing it for Prequel holoscreen purposes. I was actually thinking it could be a basis for the Plexiglass upgrade. I was attached to the design, not it's floating transparentness.

I plan on working to get a good one soon. I might go with another dell, or I may just buy some better parts. I don't want a box full of shit I will replace anyway.

That's all I consider my PCs to be in the first place... I start with something, then I upgrade it piecemeal (as I did with my last computer...an eMachines).

My current computer is homebuilt.

I am deeply considering building my own. I will scrap my Dell for parts and replace some. I have been looking at some nice cases lately. I really want to get a better cooling system, because my room is freaking hot.

My eMachine is probably the saddest thing any of you have ever seen (or heard). I'm going to try to do some editing on it, but I can't promise that it won't just catch on fire looking at the install discs.

Oh god yes, my parents have an eMachine. They had me fix it all of the time, and then boom, it's hard drive died. I had to replace it, and install XP over the horrible Vista it used to have. It works better, but not as good as I wish it could. I hated it, and still hate it. They bought it in 2009, and my 2005 dell, dominates it. Which is a bad thing.

I've managed to upgrade enough components to make it decent, but its pushing 5 years and sounds like a wind machine if you push it too hard (ie, open a program).

I know what you mean. The one my parents have is very loud. It came with a 20 inch monitor, which is cool, but that is all I like about it.

Good computers aren't as expensive as they were when I got this one.

QFT. I've paid less and less for every computer I bought since my first "modern" box in 2003.

Yeah, I had a Packard Bell when I was a kid, that cost an arm and a leg. It was a Handmedown, but an expensive one. Then I had a Midwest Micro which was pretty pricey as well. This Dell cost about $900, but I have seen some good computers for $400 now. I plan on working to get a good one soon. I might go with another dell, or I may just buy some better parts. I don't want a box full of shit I will replace anyway.

Well, actually this project is causing me problems right now. I am putting it on hold until I can upgrade my computer. As of now I am trying to work with a stock Dell that I got in 2005. It can hardly handle the memory usage of AE/and Vegas. So I am gonna upgrade it soon. I had never done any hard editing, so I never needed a good computer. I always knew it wasn't a great computer, especially back in my gaming days.

Sorry to ruin everyone's good day. This project isn't dead, it is just on hiatus. So remember to keep pushing the good ideas.

I think my computer should be kicking ass in no time, so here is to that. I will look at prices. Good computers aren't as expensive as they were when I got this one.

Info: ¤ RETURN OF THE JEDI ¤ Score Restoration - another OPTIMUM SET ?...

Go for it ABC. RotJ's score has been overshadowed by the other two scores and it's nice to see it get some love.

Think about restoring the Reactor Core track from the rejected version on the cd's, to the proper movie version. For some reason this track is always wrong. Just an idea anyway... I'll be happy with any effort made.

Off the subject: To EyeShotFirst,

I really like your gif on bad color grading. Do you have any information on how these scenes were fixed. The new transfer of the Matrix is beyond green.

They were done with levels in photoshop, the same thing could be applied to video in After Effects. I cannot do Phantom Menace as easily, that film is a curse.

I usually mess around with the RGB levels to my liking. Sometimes I will take the saturation down, or in some cases boost it. I also don't like having heavy contrast, so I take it down a notch.

I still have one of the OE sets on my desktop, but I can't remember which version it is! :p The date is November 30, 2009, so would that be version 2 or 3? I think it's 3. At any rate, this Audiophile Edition is the one I'm looking forward to the most! Great project!

P.S. That's a Mussorgsky LP in your avatar, isn't it? :)

Well, I thought I was the only one who appreciated Pictures At An Exhibition. That is the best recording ever, and Claudio Abbado delivers.

The song still sounds like a corny 80's pop song. IMO for the music to work it has to sound more otherworldly, or at least foreign.

I thought that the new ending music in ROTJ Special Edition was a huge improvement, BTW. Yub Nub was just downright ridiculous as was a very poor song to end the saga with IMO. If you listen to the album version it's even worse, because you hear just how ridiculous the vocals sound when there aren't party sounds drowning them out. That was one of the few instances of George Lucas noticing something he put in the movies was stupid, and decided to remove it.

Yeah, but if you pay attention, you can see that they beat the storm trooper helmets to a different tune. It looks bad.

Marilyn Manson with Macauly Culkin? That sounds scary and I haven't seen it. Of course I think Marilyn Manson puts on that mosterish makeup as a way to be a poser. He tries to hard to sell his satanism.

Yes Frink, it counts as a Monster.

Then may I suggest something from Cowboy Bebop.

There are many songs that sound close to the jazzy cantina style music

then here is a more Vangelis style piece

Of course Lapti Nek wouldn't have been as bad without the vocals.
