Here it is

Thanks for this, but something inside is corrupt, it will not fully unpack and I downloaded it twice, same error.

Really, I will check it out and see what I can do.

Ok my original RAR is just fine. I am going to upload it to megaupload and see if that helps it.

The conversion to mediafire messed up everything for some reason so, maybe megaupload won't. ABC uses it and it works just fine.

On the one hand you say: How hard is it to screw up the Prequels?  And yet George Lucas, the originator of Star Wars, managed to do just that!

And then you try to do what he should have done, and you find yourself tempted to or actually making the same mistakes he made.  It gives you a little more sympathy for how rotten the final product is and how it got that way.  I can't say that it makes me like them more, but I appreciate the challenge of doing it more.

I do have some appreciation for the amount of work that would need to be done. It is hard to write something like that. I am trying to do something as good as the OT, which is taking some serious work.

The OT is so good because of how fresh it is. I have to make a story that is up to par with the OT, but I am also forced to use things from PT that I don't want, because it will contradict the OT. Star Wars was genius, and no matter how highly I think of my self, I ain't no genius.

I really want to tell a good story, but I just don't think it is going to be as fast paced as the OT. I can't avoid leaving the politics out of it.

Very nice, but it lacks 3D perspective - I'd really like a fullsize single JPEG to play with (perhaps one with and one without flare from the sun).

Perhaps my biggest 'sad' is that while there seems to be a strong consensus on what the prequels "shouldn't" be... there's nowhere near a consensus on what they should have been.  I think this site actually contains 90% of the people on the face of the planet Earth that like Star Wars the way I like Star Wars... and yet we can't see eye to eye on what we would have liked from the PT.

I too have strong desires to see a "proper" reboot of the trilogy.  I too have thought that "making movies costs lots of money" and "writing novels is free" so I have considered going that route, despite the fact my longest short story is not 10 pages.

My hope is that while we can't agree in concept form- that once a quality story were presented in full, that we would gather around it and say, "Yes, this is how it should be."  Or, at least, "Yes, this works and is not the failure that the PT was."  But I'm afraid it would still be, "Eh... it's pretty good I guess... but still not what I was expecting or hoping it would be."  And, of course, "That sucked.  It was worse than the PT."

I've asked Moth3r if we can open a new forum dedicated to just Prequel Rewrites.  It's possible there's only a few of us here that would care to post in it... but I think the action gets lost in the other forums/threads.  I think it would do better in its own forum.

I had a hard time looking for a home for it. I didn't know where it belonged.

I am trying not to axe the prequels. I just want to have fun with it and see how far I can go with it. I could get stuck and appreciate the prequels as hard as that may seem.

Hey Ady,

No, I'm not asking for stills, but I think that you should let someone watch the movie before you release it. I think that a 'beta-release' of the movie to some people will be a smart choice because even you can make mistakes. These people can check the movie for mistakes, and then you can correct those and release the final movie in the end.

Just an idea, but think about it. Some of the screens you already showed us, had some mistakes and the people on this forum discovered them and you corrected those. So maybe a beta-release to some people?

He did that already. You don't want to spoil your appetite. I am glad he did, I am also glad I wasn't the one he sent it to. I wouldn't have been very helpful.

Wasn't Hayden added for the 2004 VD release, and not vor the 97'SE? Yeah, I also detest than one...

Some of the things about the SE I really like. Maybe it's a generational difference, but as much as I enjoy models (I'm a scale modeler, and I also find them far more realistic than CGI), the SE had some nice CGI touches - like the improved lighting on the engines in some scenes; very few scenes, sadly.

If the SE was purely "cosmetic" and didn't introduce (or to be blunt, force) some changes, I'm sure people would have loved it. I still like it a lot. I've seen the original OT only on VHS as a kid, the SE was my full cinematic experience.

It's stunning how people can make fantastic edits with their own PCs and visually improve the OT, without adding any stupidity, yet Lucas with his near infinite budget can't. Meh...

Ady, how about a new weekly still from ESB Revisited to look forward to? There are about 36 weeks left in the year. That would mean close to 30 some stills before the release in Dec. Is 30 some frames from a 2 hour movie too much to give out? It would be a great thing to look forward to once a week. I know we did it before. Just think about it, please.

Wow, don't you ever just give it a rest? please. I've released so much more stuff than i ever did with ANH:R yet you keep asking for more all the time. So, ok, here's a new still from the completed section of ESB:R, just for you ;)

Ady that logo is all wrong. As a purist, I think it should be the original logo. I can't stand it.

I'm sorry to announce you your image is horizontaly shrinked !

And if the one you posted is the bigger you have, it's really low res.

But yes, nice colors (looks close to the OE cover ones, no ?... But with better reds notably).

It can still be useful for you though. It could be a good colour layer in photoshop. That way you get the colour but keep the crispness.

I just really love that poster, so this one is my favorite no matter what.

Sure it has nice color. Btw, I'd be glad taking a closer look at yours, it looks to have a nice color treatment, don't know if you have corrected it. (I haven't done it myself for now as it's not the same file I used before).

You got it!!!

I did the colour correction to it. As you can see it isn't as sharp as it should be, but that was the best I could work with.

EDIT if you click download, you should get a much bigger image

EDIT AGAIN: here is a better link to it

When did you realize the Prequels sucked?
Time

I always knew they were sub par, but when they were put on a pedestal by Lucas who can release them but not the OOT, it made me hate them. I also started to hate them because they made the EU a big chunk of utter crap. And they turned the fan base into a bunch of Yoda quoting nerds.

I was a Star Wars nerd in the 90's, but the PT made me identify myself as a fan of the original originals. You really have to love them all to be classified as a Star Wars nerd nowadays.

I also realized I wasn't a Star Wars nerd anymore, when conversations with Star Wars nerds became a frustrating argument. I can't sit with today's Star Wars nerds and be one myself. The last time I did, they sounded like that bald guy in the People Vs George Lucas trailer "Mr. George Lucas, we the fans (the TRUE fans), salute you!!!"

I can hang out with you guys all day, because you have seen the good ones in their original glory.

Another instance of me hating the PT, was when I started making DVD covers. Try finding good images of the OT without having to go through pages of prequel crap.
