Someone who does have the book, tell me how the seismic charges sound effect from the only cool scene in AOTC was made. I have always wanted to know.
Bad news... pg 236
When Attack of the Clones hit theaters, the seismic charge caused a similar reaction in audiences. Indeed, when lecturing, Burrtt is often asked about it and the twang of the explosion (which he prefers to keep a secret). "When I go out and meet fans, they always ask, 'What was that sound? That was so cool,'" says Wood, "But it's the absence of sound that really is what makes everybody like it."
Ohhhhh, I guess I'll never know. I bet it is more simple than we would think.
I stopped having pets after losing my dog. I cried so much that I couldn't handle losing another one, but now that I am older, I have been thinking of getting another dog.
I can't have cats, I am very allergic to them.
I've had fish, but they don't last very long.
I've had a pet hermit crab, and it was so cute.
Never took a picture of it, but this is pretty much what it looked like. I named it Mr. Krabs.

I'm not sure but if you listen to the sound of the cords breaking as the rope bridge in Temple Of Doom breaks and imagine it distorted you might have something similar.
It certainly has a stringy twang to it.
Yeah, I think it sounds stringy too. I know it has something rubbery in there as well. I also won't shoot down the possibility of it being a slowed down track of a balloon being popped.

Would the widescreen version have been anything other than a crop job though?
There is a murky glimpse of a widescreen used in a mixing session here:
Well, according to that it was a crop job. I dunno, I could do some experimentation, but most likely it will stay Full Screen. Thanks for the post.
Need to hook up Ady with this one. If you can use headphones you can do other things

Lucky it doesn't sound like 'density' and Vader does the Vulcan salute while threatening to melt Luke's brain unless he takes his sister to the prom.
Ady, can you add this just after "I am your father". You will have to replace John Williams with Van Halen for the full effect.
Good idea, but is it going to be Van Halen or Van Hagar? I'm more of a Roth kinda guy.

Using the soundboard Vader dialogue I tweaked some of his isolated ANH phrases.
I gave him a deeper tone, slowed him down a bit and gave him more heavy bass similar to the following two films....
Check it out...

Very nice, but I feel that you should make it just a little bit deeper than what you've made, because the ESB Vader voice (the best Vader sounded in the entire saga, imo) is still very slightly deeper than your edited ANH voice. Just a tiny bit deeper would make it perfect.
And also you should boost the hi range a little more. Vader's voice was booming in ESB, but it was still very crisp sounding.

The old topic of a Cargo/Troop Shuttle in ROJ being 'Tyderium' instead of a Lambda shuttle has raised its head over at ESB:R,
I did this rough mock-up a while ago.

Not to seem like a douche, but I think Angel did one similar and the matte was even enhanced.
Angel, you never cease to amaze me. You have such a dynamic vision.
*snicker*

TheDigitalBits.com reported today that there will be a new take on Pastoral's censoring on BD. "More seamless" using newer digital tools.
What got me, is they commented that bootleg uncensored cuts are available if you know where to look.
I wasn't aware of this. If we don't know where to look, who does?
Well, hopefully the censor job is better. I don't really care about it as much as others. I would like to see Disney use the widescreen version. Not to shit on the original full screen presentation, I just think it would be more fitting with what I would like to do.
My problem with the Holiday Special isn't as much how bad it is, but how unlike Star Wars it is. Sure you have all the characters, it just doesn't have that feel to it.
If someone can fix this piece of shit, they can fix the prequels easy.
Are you a pissed of white guy? Then you probably have this album just like me.

Might be of interest if you were to go a little more of a radical route on this project, but I've recently checked out "The Disney that Never Was" and it has the original program for the project when it was still "The Concert Feature".
Originally went Sorcerer's Apprentice, Nutcracker Suite, Bald Mountain and Ave Maria, Cydalise and the Faun (which eventually became Pastoral), Ride of the Valkyries (which is in storyreel form on the Legacy set), Claire de Lune, Animal Ballet (became Dance of the Hours) and Rite of Spring.
I would love to go radical with this project, I just haven't got the skills to do it. I also wouldn't know what I could do to change it.
