What do you think was the best release of the OT at the time it came out?
Time

It was the late 90's. I was a newcomer. I didn't know of a SE existing. It was all about the movies.

I miss going down to my basement at 8 years old, and popping in those VHS's, just to enjoy them. These movies were perfect to me. There wasn't any such thing as poor picture quality to my young eyes. It was the same with video games, low res sprites weren't low res sprites. They were a lot of fun.

I miss being able to see the world without judging it.

Random Thoughts
Time

A few more days until I go back to school. I am actually kind of glad I dropped out. Now I can approach school with a new understanding, and yearning for learning.

I essentially got laziness out of my system. My social life has become a wreck since I left, so now I am gonna go back, and interact with people.  I could've gotten my GED, but I think a High School Diploma is a wiser choice. I want to have the option of going to a decent college if I want.

I want to be able to tell my kids that I finished High School.

I'm 20, that's not too far gone.

Got back from Deathly Hallows, and my experience was the complete opposite of most. I absolutely hated part 1, and loved part 2.

I'd like to take a stab at combining part 1 and 2 into a well rounded movie, though Part 2 ended up being good in my eyes, so there isn't too much I'd cut out, there is a chunk I'd take out of Part 1 though.

I just quit smoking!

I've surprisingly still been off of the smokes. I've had terrible urges lately, but that is because things are kind of on the shitty side. I just keep fighting it. I think I'll always be addicted, but I choose not to act on it.

To add to that, it helps that cigarettes are quite a bit more expensive than they were.

Amy Winehouse Found DEAD

Two high selling award winning albums and a lot of memorable live performances aside that is a rather mean spirited (not that she can hear you or anything).

It is strange how her death seems to be getting more attention than the massacre in Norway or the famine in Africa but that's none of her doing.

It was the same fucking thing when Michael Jackson died. They didn't give a shit if a bus full of babies burnt up, they wanted to talk about Michael Jackson. Though I doubt they'll talk about Amy a third as much as they did MJ.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

I just hope the scenes are actually in 1080p.

I don't want to say something completely stupid, but I think if somebody wanted to work their fingers to the bone, they could paint out dust and scratches. It would most definitely take forever. I don't know if all I said is possible, but we're forward enough in technology and know-how to pull some crazy shit off.

The Runaways.

meh

They're in pre-production for a film version of the Brian K. Vaughn Runaways comics, presumably also titled "Runaways".  I've never seen the chick band one, but I can't wait for this.

Reminds me of Crossroads (the 1986 Ralph Macchio blues road film) and Crossroads (the 2002 Britney Spears teen dramedy) - one is so great and the other is miserable, and people always think I'm talking about the miserable one.  Frustrating.

I get excited when I see that Crossroads is on dish, and then it ends up being the shitty Spitney Brears one.

One of the great versions of "Imperial March" is on the Telarc demonstration disc called "Star Tracks".  It has the Cincinnati orchestra directed by Erich Kunzel.  There are some other SW, ST, and Raiders pieces also (including "Luke and Leia").  The sound quality is awesome and the performances true to the originals.  It's probably out of print but easy to find on eBay.

Shame John Williams wouldn't conduct a new set for Telarc. That would be amazing.

Jacob's Ladder 1990

I had never seen it before, and I don't really know what to say about it. I have a deep desire to watch it again. Somebody told me it was scary, but it wasn't really, though it did have some things that could be seen as scary. I think I liked it.

I'll avoid rating it. I think it will take a few more times before I've made up my mind.

Most teen pop stars and groups are forgotten after their fifteen minutes of fame are over. People like NSync and The Backstreet Boys are perfect examples of this.

I remember NSync and the Backstreet Boys. They actually had talent, and used their real voices to sing. Their songs may not have been that good, but they could actually call themselves singers.

Movies that actually scare/scared you!

I've never really been a fan of scary movies. I like to be chilled mentally and made to think about twisted things instead of jumping in shock. In fact, I hate things that make you jump in movies. To me it's a cop out.

For example, I hate the additions to the scene in Jaws where Hooper goes down to investigate the wreck of Ben Gardner's boat. Completely unecessary moment that was tacked on after previews.

Shit jumping out at you in horror is the equivalent of a fart in a comedy.
