Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1
Time

Today was supposed to be my day to watch it, but my plans got pissed on. I'll have to wait another week before I can watch it.

[UPDATE]

Got lucky and got the chance to watch it. It looked beautiful, and the sabers haven't looked that good in a long time. Sail Barge assault sabers looked almost re-rotoscoped.

It's hard to see the Jedi as humble when this is their HQ :

As I'm still planning out MY versions of the prequels in novel form, my plan has been from  the beginning to have an ancient temple in the Valley of the Jedi, as a reference to my favorite Star Wars game. Luke's training on dagobah was so organic, and I think that should've translated into the prequels. Instead, we see the training relates more to the training of Ivan Drago in Rocky 4, all sterile and sciencey.

For years I thought the GOUT was OK. I grew up watching 2nd generation VHS tapes, so I wasn't too picky about the less than stellar image.

Then the Blu Ray debacle lately just got me fed up with Star Wars releases, and all the poo that George Lucas makes us go through.

So I DLed this edit, and Star Wars DeSpecialized.

OH MY GOD!!!!! Thank you SO much for your effort Harmy. They absolutely ROCK!!!!!!!!!! WoooHoooo!!!!!!!!!!

Suffice to say, I enjoyed them.

I didn't think I would ever be able to enjoy Star Wars again after the past month, but Harmy's ESB brought my love back.

FIXED

You're not going to fix every grammatical error you come across, are you?

My only gripes with Predators is the fact that it follows Predator too much. Predator 2, while a horrible film, did something different.

Predators is the best sequel for Predator, but it's not as good of a sequel as it could've been.

You're right, it's pretty obvious they tried to see if that firecracker could pop twice. I did enjoy Predators though, admittedly though I'm one of the few who enjoyed Predator 2. I never really got into AvP flicks, probably because I have nothing for Aliens. Just never liked those movies.

I have a soft spot for Lethal Weapon era Danny Glover films.

Are you implying that the schlockfests that were Predator or Predator 2 might have been better?

I think he's saying that conventional beliefs hold that the original Predator is the best ever. Not saying that you can't have your opinion of course, but the original Predator is the highest rated of all the others on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.

However, I will say that Predators was a good flick, I'd place it right behind the original but nowhere past it.

At this point, nearing 50, I don't have any interest in the film Star Wars anymore. My 2006 GOUT is enough for me, which I last watched five years ago.  Lucas has contaminated the franchise to the point of it being toxic.

Someone pointed out the other day (sorry, I forgot who) that this is the only film in history that has this much fanbase hatred and venom. Lucas has once again broke new ground - he's actually managed to turn his own fanbase against itself.

I'm only here to support the cause, expose the decades of lies, and to discuss my personal Star Wars canon with fellow nerds.  Which, by the way, has been largely formed & guided by some of you here.  That's a big deal to me, in case I don't thank you folks enough.  If it weren't for you, I wouldn't even be a Star Wars fan anymore.

Truth be told, if a proper release of the original Star Wars were released, I wouldn't rush out to get it.  It's not fun anymore.  It's become work to be a fan.

Foster, Daley, and Zahn are Star Wars now.

I'm with Anchorhead. All of the beauty and magic that that Star Wars has brought me is pretty much gone. I just don't give a shit any more. I want the OOT. That's all I want. I didn't buy the GOUT, and I haven't bought a single Star Wars product in years. I didn't watch the T.V. show, I won't go see the rereleases, and I won't go buy the BR or anything else. The OOT isn't coming ever again. And that's the only thing I want. I'm at the point where I just no longer give a fuck.

Howard Johnson said:

MikeOT is right. The OT just isn't the same anymore. I'm at the point were I'm not really excited by the films. I hold onto the memories I had when it was just the trilogy, but Star Wars isn't Star Wars anymore. Star Wars has become a whore and George Lucas is the pimp that collects. Sure, he fixes her up real pretty, but at the end of the day, we just want all natural.

Here is what I have:

Those MDR-150's are still my on the go headphones, but I switched to primarily using these Sennheiser HD-202s. Sound is much improved at the same price point. ($20) I use these for personal listening and even as my vinyl headphones. best inexpensive headphones I've ever come across.

Here is what I want:

The sony's are still pretty damn good.

I've used a pair of Sennheiser like that model back when I was in the college radio station, but I felt the sound to be slightly lacking and they were freaking uncomfortable!

I just can't do earbuds. I use flac on my Sansa Clip+, so why sacrifice sound quality of headphones?

Thanks for the heads up. I've been wanting some good sennheiser headphones, you can't have a box of Telarc recordings and listen to them on bad equipment.

^ this is who he is

the only unfortunate thing is that the cloud city model is warped. He makes these things out of wood for the most part. His executor is pretty amazing. Shame that you couldn't put the lights in these things, which is why i'm going to have to make my own.

After seeing your ET you did in the 80's, I can only imagine how awesome your Cloud City in the 10's will be.
