They still owe me quite a bit after taxes. Taxes were deducted from money I never even saw. I'm going to pay them a little visit at the start of the week and get it all sorted. If I was the type to bring lawyers into it, I could rip them a new one, but that's not the way I do things. I want what I earned, end of story.

A new Indiana Jones?
Time

I still think Indy could work in the animated realm. Maybe a video game that doesn't suck or an animated show on par with the Batman animated series.

I enjoyed a few of the Indy novels that were written in the 90's. They weren't as good as the films, but it gave me more Indy than KOTCS did.

I think Indy would make a very entertaining cartoon.

That way, if Harrison Ford would be opposed to it, you could get somebody to sound like him. They already use his likeness in every video game, novel, and comic they produce.

I think they've waited too long to replace Harrison Ford. It's been 30+ years with him being the only film Indy. It's not something as easy as replacing Connery was in the Bond franchise. Connery was only Bond from 1962-1967. Replacing him with George Lazenby and later Roger Moore, even though people bitched and still do, was much easier than somebody who has been cemented into popular culture for over a quarter of a century.

Got screwed out of a huge chunk of money from my previous employer, I don't have any proof thanks to the fact that they didn't provide pay stubs in physical form, and I also cannot get a hold of them.

Christmas was essentially screwed thanks to these people, and my only proof is a W-2 and my good word. I ended up only receiving about 40 percent of what I earned, and that's with taxes figured in.

I quit that job the week before Thanksgiving, because they had issues with setting up my direct deposit, which I went to great lengths to prevent from happening when I set it up at orientation. Now not only am I unemployed, I am also robbed. I don't want to make a big lawsuit out of this, I just want what I earned. I don't get government support, nor do I draw unemployment.

Ady, I applaud your tenacity. Nothing has made me scream "f*** these movies" near as much as color correcting Genosis. It's frightening how bad the CGI is, and making the colors more natural only brings it out even more. If I know you, a lot of that shit will be replaced, but still. It's sad that the prequels will take more work than the classic movies. Shouldn't the prequels look better?

WNUF Halloween Special (2013)

I wouldn't call this a film, but more of a window into the past. I normally hate found footage films, but something about this was quite excellent. While I don't think it was scary in the slightest, or even all that funny, I think the way it was compiled, was great.

I have never seen something so authentic. For a second, I wanted to judge the acting, but then I realized that the acting was spot on. Where else can you hear dialogue delivered as fake as on any local news network?

The film basically plays as if somebody in 1988 pressed record on their VCR and left to either sleep or go somewhere else like so many of us used to do before the days of DVR. Some of the repeated commercials are fast forwarded through.

My appreciation of this "film" is completely nostalgia based. I don't even know if you could call it a film.

For once, we have something in the found footage genre that actually feels like it was found. The look, the sounds, the costumes, and everything else all felt truly authentic.

I can't praise it, or knock it. I don't even know if I can recommend it, unless you are feeling nostalgic or in a sentimental mood. No rating from me.

Yeah, that's not the falcon play-set I had growing up. That falcon looks pretty damn good in it's stock form. I'm debating on buying one to display. Someone as artistically adept as Ady could make it look more battle worn and screen accurate no problem.

Just shoot it several times with a blaster, leave it in the weather, and it will be perfect.

What would have made the prequels better in your opinion?
Time

I'd like to have seen something a little more epic. It's like every scene is either people sitting down, or armies of thousands with flashy cgi lasers and shit buzzing around the screen.

I just felt like I was watching a soap opera pasted onto a bad series of cut scenes from a 90's first person shooter.

Had the story been a little more engaging, it would've merited the scale in which it was composed, but for a badly written political drama with robotic acting, I could've shot it in a Detroit apartment complex with the same effect.
George Lucas used to be a name that made you think of great effects and great shots. I still have a lot of love for George Lucas. THX, American Graffiti, and Star Wars were very good films, that I consider to be definitive 70's films.

George's films had such an iconic look to them. You don't get any of that in the prequels. There were some neat sequences, but many of them were borrowed and uninspired. It's like "Look it's a John Ford shot" , or "Here's a taste of Kurosawa"

Seize the Day (1986)

I went through a list of Robin Williams films I hadn't seen, and this was one of them. It was a very tough film to watch considering the events of yesterday. I've never actually cried over the loss of an actor, but Robin was a part of my life. I felt like I knew him. I can honestly say I loved the man.

This film without going into to  much is the struggles of a man who has hit rock bottom. Being one of the early examples of Robin's dramatic side, this film showcases his power as an actor. It was an HBO film, but in no way does it's performances feel cheap. I won't rate it, but I highly recommend it.

[fill in the blank] Just Died!

Truly I don't think he just had depression. I'd say he was manic depressive. When he was up, he was way up, and what goes up must go down. I know enough people who are bipolar and many of them will say they'd kill themselves if it wasn't for their medicine or therapy. He sought therapy, but it's not a universal problem that can be fixed with a universal cure.

Angriest Man in Brooklyn (2014)

This movie was kind of meh for me. There were parts I thought were funny, but like so many comedies that try for the drama side, it just sort of felt like it was lacking on both sides. It was both a mediocre drama and a mediocre comedy. Many well known and loved faces in the acting game were the only thing that kept it above water. It was like a cheapened version of Stranger Than Fiction in feel. I'd probably give it another watch, but wouldn't really recommend it.

Benny & Joon (1993)

One of my favorite movies ever made. I love every frame of this film and as I've grown older, I really relate to Benny. I've watched this movies since it first came out on VHS, and will never avoid watching it if it is on tv.

I kind of wish people showed Aidan Quinn as much love as I have. The guy has so much natural talent. He's not going over the top for the oscars, just acting like a regular person would. He's got a Paul Le Mat realism to him. I compare him to Paul, because like him, he is a great actor that never really exploded like he should have.

Idea: 'A Song of Ice and Fire - Game of Thrones' - Film Cuts Discussion
Time

I will admit, I’ve grown to really like and respect the show, though I haven’t read the books, it is my understanding that each season is one of the books in George R. R. Martin’s series.

While watching the series, I thought with intelligent editing, the show could be edited down to film size.

Many scenes are drawn out and some unnecessary. 5 minute sex scenes added for the sake of having sex scenes being a prime example. Plus, I think cutting out some of the scenes that explain too much would add more of a surprise when they happen.

Of course the show is a good 10 hours a season, and for the sake of the viewer would be better cut down to 3 hours, or 6 hours if each season got a 2-parter, kind of like Kerr’s Book edits of LOTR.

I just wonder how it could be done. I’m not saying I’m doing it, but it’s a very interesting thought, and I’m actually a little surprised nobody has tried it.

I think it could be done. Removing a lot of the more soap opera/porno elements, and keeping the Epic Dramatic Fantasy core.

There are still 2 seasons planned, and 2 more books which might turn into another 2 seasons that haven’t been made yet, but I don’t think it would hurt to do something before hand.

Anybody else think this is a good idea, and what could be done to make it work, or why shouldn’t it be done?
