Opinion: The Biggest Missed Opportunity in Star Wars History...
Time

There's a new Star Wars comic coming out in January, called Star Wars. It follows the characters immediately following the events of the first movie.

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=39579

My plan is to pretend that nothing else exists other than 'A New Hope,'" said Wood. "At least in the minds of the characters. The fact the reader knows so much, especially things the characters don't just yet -- such as Luke and Leia being related, Vader as their father, et cetera -- makes for some fun writing. I love 'Empire,' and maybe in the future I'll catch up to that film story-wise, but for right now I'm enjoying this beautiful moment in time, starting literally days after the Battle of Yavin when everything is set up and the future is wide open.

It looks like it could be interesting, but I'm gonna wait to see how word of mouth is.

How about some more radical approach?

Sorry for crude editing and quality - it was done very quick.. Of course, music, effects etc need to be tighten up.

I'm try to describe this scene in short. Jango plays cat & mouse with Obi up until he's shooting a rocket. No stupid seismic charges and gunfire - Fett came from behind and do his job. IMO, in that way, two of them are not complete morons and know what they doing. Just strait to the point action scene.

p.s.: Some more build up before rocket shoot may also help. And we never see Jango's face.

Assuming the roughness of this quick edit can be smoothed out, I like this a lot. Even better would be to incorporate Coov's idea of Obi Wan preparing the seismic charges ahead of time - he can do that before he flies into the asteroid.

I've never been a fan of the seismic charges. It's the sound element that gets me. Sound in space is one thing, but delayed sound in space is just too much for me to swallow.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a tease of the Executor just with Vader's Tie Fighter docking with it or something.

I could have sworn Adywan did something like this at some point. It was the shot from the end of ANH with Vader's TIE flying off into the distance, with the Executor in the background.

That original trilogy change you wouldn't mind
Time

I had to think a while on this to even come up with something. Honestly, I don't think any changes are needed.

But if LFL just had to make changes, it should be along these lines:

- Digitally redo all composites using original elements (to remove mattes and dupe grain)

- Correct any "errors" (wonky props and sets, effects errors)

- Possibly use cgi to correct bad ship movements (BUT NO CGI SHIPS)

- Possibly use cgi to smooth bad puppet movements (BUT NO CGI CHARACTERS)

- Use the original 6-channel mixes to come up with modern 7.1 mixes that don't sound like crap (NO NEW SOUNDS)

In a nutshell: fix what you have, add nothing new! Basically, they should be the exact same movies, only with the edges polished for modern audiences.
