STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I agree with removing the AT-STs. They look too tall in ESB in the one scene where we see them.

You (might be able to) notice that the AT-ST is walking at about the AT-AT's knee level. How? A hill/ridge? I find that unlikely. All the shots prior to this show a flat snow-scape.

I've included everyone that donated for the cameo draw because its looking less likely that i will be able to add anyone convincingly into the film.

This is disappointing, but not entirely surprising. Just out of curiosity, which scenes were you considering adding them to?

i will offer this: For everyone that donated for the cameo draw, and everyone that donates between now and December 31st i will release a brand new clip. It will be the entire escape from Hoth/ Asteroid scene up until Luke approaches Dagobah. Although it won't have the new asteroid canyon (because with everything that has been going on i just haven't had the time to be able to finish the canyon and have a free day to assemble it and film it), almost all the other shots will be complete and as it will be seen when the movie is released. And although i have released clips from this scene before, you will see that most of the shots you have seen already have been thrown out and replaced with new FX shots. Then i will send a download link to the clip to everyone on Jan 1st. I really want to crack on with everything after Xmas

I'll be donating. This is too good to pass up, even for a poor college student.

I'm glad you won't release a work print. It should be released when it's done (not a moment before).

I must say that, despite color correction and enhancement efforts, how well do they really work? On VLC Media Player, if you boost the Contrast a LITTLE BIT, and the Saturation a LOT, the lack of color in the original file becomes clear. Here's some stills from Adywan's own ANH Revisited to show just how much better still the color could be. The top is the original, the bottom with the effects on:

]

While this is more 'colorful', I think Luke and Han mainly just look sunburned.

When the AT-AT opens fire on the main generator there is nothing but snow between him and the target – shouldn't there be towers?

Why should there be towers? We didn't see any when the probe droid called in the generator, nor in any other shot. Do you mean those turrets and trenches?

This new version looks great. The original does look like a video game. And Angel, I spotted a few differences between versions.

1- letter color change

2- environment/creature color change

3- added fog

4- browned Yoda's cloak and removed the blue from his face

5- changed R2's light color

6- removed the original artist's signature =(

Now lets Suicide...

Also, your Emo girl might want to hold onto her heart; or at least wait until her hormones die down and she realizes she wants to live.

She may need it.

The EU, and why I hate it
Time

Doesn't the Thrawn Trilogy claim that Spaarti cloning cylinders were used during the clone wars as opposed to whatever method the Kaminoans used? Discrepancy! How can both be canon? Ret-con needed!

^(Rhetorical.)

And I enjoyed Shadows of the Empire. I thought it was a pretty good piece of literature when I first read it.

I wonder if I would think it's good literature today... and whether that matters at all.

Argument à la C3PX.

Why does it matter if it is considered canon or not? If you enjoyed it, then it wasn't a waste of time.

This might be a bit unnecessary, but I never liked how Luke added in "Go, Dak!" after telling him to do "Attack pattern Delta"...

The line is "Attack pattern Delta, go now!"

Sorry to hear about your family Adywan.

How deeply rooted is "suck" in the Prequels?

The Phantom Menace:

A boy born into slavery on a backwater planet meets some strangers who are actually warriors marooned on his planet after a battle in an intergalactic Space War. The boy is intrigued by the strangers and the idea of life away slavery. He helps them repair their damaged spacecraft so they can return to the War. The boy leaves his life of slavery with the warriors and is introduced to the vastness of the galaxy. He joins the War effort and is trained by the warriors.

Well... that's maybe shorter than it needs to be, but that's the kernel of story in Phantom Menace that I do like and think could actually be quite good if executed differently than TPM. Reminds me of the White Mountains of the Tripod Trilogy for those that have read them.

Knock out the "warriors" and make it "warrior". There was no Qui Gon in the original story.

Agreed. (source)

We normally blame the acting (which is bad (except for Ewan who was excellent!))

I disagree. He was ok in the first film (in which Liam Neeson was excellent), but in the second film he came off 100% false and in the third film he was just bland. His performances as Kenobi regularly get praised for the simple reason that he didn't fuck up as much as Hayden or as Padme in the later two films. But it's really not so good. He fails to make the sort of connection betwen the audience and the character that there was with the characters in the OT and in the PT Neeson managed a lot more connection and feeling than he did.

I thought he was good in the first and third, but SW:AOTC is a mess in so many ways...

Wouldn't it be funny to see the Executor bridge and everyone is tilted and trying their best not to fall against the Starboard side windows (that is the left side of the ship, right?)?

Port is left, starboard is right and stern is the rear of a ship.

The Executor did always look a bit odd to me. I just figured it was the angle of the camera.

Pathetic Prequel dialogue quoted
Time

Anakin: Are you an angel?

"An angel. They live on the moons of Iego, I think. They are the most beautiful creatures in the universe. They are good and kind, and so pretty they make even the most hardened space pirates cry like small children."
?Anakin Skywalker

Padmé: "Ani? My goodness, you've grown."

Anakin: "So have you. Grown more beautiful, I mean. Well, for – for a senator, I mean."

Anakin: "You are so... beautiful."
Padmé: "It's only because I'm so in love."
Anakin: "No, it's because I'm so in love with you."
Padmé: "So love has blinded you?"
Anakin: "Well, that's not exactly what I meant."
Padmé: "But it's probably true."

"Something wonderful has happened... Ani, I'm pregnant."

'How is that possible? I was out at the outer-rim!! Was it Jar-Jar?!

However, I am bothered by the flight path of the shuttle during Needa's visit to the Executor. It seems a bit arching and ponderous to me (for all 7 seconds it's on screen). Is that flight path final?

Asking if the shuttle should go under executor instead of going over it?

Good question. assuming and only that executor have multiple hangars ON the surface NOT only in his belly.

-Angel

Logistically speaking, a ship as large as the Executor ought to have many hangers, so I'm not that fussed.

But I thought I'd ask.

It did for me. All your extrapolations are logical and valid. *bangs gavel*

It's not really that big of a deal. I'm just (exasperatingly) curious. :)

Has anyone considered that perhpas Hoth has an atmosphere high in... helium? Perhaps the high helium concentration accounts for the blue snow, and the high reflectivity accounts for the general bluish hue.

Or maybe the whole planet is berry-flavored.

Making the entire cast sound like they're on a helium-filled planet would be an easy fix. And hilarious!

Haha, imagine how Vader would sound! Probably a bit like this guy...

This is a bit off topic, but wasn't there some talk back in March (2009) about making a variation of this image displaying General Veers waiting to enter Vader's meditation chamber:

:

...into a menu on the dvd? If I recall correctly, Angel had a mock-up of what it could look like, but I can't find it for the life of me. Anybody remember what I'm talking about?
